Bought one of these years ago and carried it as a back-up. Reliable with full metal jackets, not so much with hollow points. Gave it to my son several years back. I thought they were no longer making them. Enjoyed the review.

I have noticed the same thing if you run hollow point ammunition I have had feeding issues also with this one. It does pretty well with hornady critical defense, ammunition. I want to thank you for watching my friend. You take care. Have a great day. And a wonderful New Year’s.👍👍👍👍

I’ve always thought almost all AMT’s I’ve ever seen were really cool looking 💯 little 380s are EXTREMELY difficult to be accurate with! Have a great evening and happy holidays Mr. Al and family

Great pocket pistol. Still have mine & it is a very good shooter. Any jamming problems are caused by AMT not being aware back then that the slide & frame cannot be made of the same "grade" of stainless steel.(gun companies know this now)It causes metal to metal galling.Keep this gun heavily lubricated (shoot it "wet")& it will not malfunction.Wish someone would make it again in 6 or 7 shot with a polymer frame. I'll buy two! thanks, Jerome Little-Smith

Hi Al, I once owned that precise gun, but traded it for the DAO version. My DAO version is a very accurate pistol. I once thought of selling it, but can't do it because it;s so darn accurate. It's a little heavy because of the all stainless steel construction, but worth the weight. Thanks Al!

I just picked one up at Cabela’s. I used all my points from my credit card and paid $2.00 out of pocket. I have been telling everyone I have a two dollar pistol. (IYKYK). Since I make my own holsters, I have one that is a perfect fit and have found i don’t notice the weight of the pistol compared to others. It’s comfortable, shootable and easy to conceal. My one issue is the number of rounds. I can only load four in the magazine and one in the chamber. Because mine didn’t come with a manual, I’m not sure if this is the way it’s supposed to be or if it should be five in the mag and one in the chamber.

Well, a 380 pistol review ... this seems to be the hot topic in guns. Is the 380 good enough for carry? ... is the capacity enough? ... is the gun too snappy to fire? ... I'm glad you covered this gun & cartridge type ... it is great info. for folks.

How’s it going my friend. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. The weather has sure cooler. Kentucky. In my opinion, the 380 auto is a pretty serious little round. And would make a good every day carry gun but this AMT backup is definitely not a target pistol. It’s made for a closed and personal. Now you take care and have a wonderful day my friend. It’s always a pleasure. And wishing you a wonderful New Year’s. 👍👍👍👍🙏🇺🇸

Folks use to call the Colt & Browning 25 caliber guns ... face guns. Guns like this AMT & the Raven, etc. were called Saturday night specials ... out in my neck of the woods.. of course the media liked that phrase.@@TheWalkWithAl

Hello AL! Thanks for reviewing this little blast from the past. This was one of the first pistols I ever bought. Not a great pistol, but I loved the looks and form factor of it. I have seen extended mags for it (probably from Pro Mag) but they're super rare. Many of these little bangers most likely ended up as throw away guns in the 80s and 90s. I still have mine and still enjoy it. Hope y'all had a great Christmas and Happy New Year my friend!

I have one of the first ever made AMTs. mine is approx. 45 yrs old. Mine does not have a safety on it and does not have traditional sites. It only has groove in the top of the slide that goes from the front of the slide to the back. Not sure if they are still making this pistol, but the manufacturer was originally in Irwindale CA. I was 22 yrs old when I bought mine and I am 68 yrs old now. Have to say that I took it to the range this morning since I haven’t shot it in years and I absolutely hate it. Too hard to shoot and the trigger shape hurts my finger when I shoot it. I will however plan on keeping it for sentimental value.

Are these being made again? If so, do we know who is manufacturing them? These were the smallest 380 you could get back in the mid 80's. The original companies that made them included OMC sold to AMT itself to Galena industries, I believe Irwindale had them for awhile and later High Standard Marketed them. There may have been others that I missed. Quality of the little gun runs from great to poor depending on when they were made. Some guns function perfectly while others struggle to get a full mag shot without malfunction. Thanks and have a happy New Years
@TheWalkWithAl10 ай бұрын
It is showing that they are manufactured by ordinance corporation OMC. Out of California. This is a older model. But it does it say they’ve been discontinued. So I guess it is still in production. But you just don’t see a lot of them around. But I am still doing research on this pistol. And if I find out anything new, I will get back to you. I want to thank you for watching.
