Hey guys hope you enjoy the video, it was crazy to go through and work out exactly how many changes I've made to the car and the price I've spent to get it to this stage
@kr3am8184 жыл бұрын
Just a question. Would you trust it to use it as a pure rally car the way it is atm? Not a dumb question just asking for your thought. I have a black ralliart btw and i agree they are a very nice car. I wish mine was phantom black its a beautiful colour.
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
@@kr3am818 it's too low as it sits right now as I learned from a cruise a year ago when we went off road and I kept bottoming out, was a lot of fun to rip the handbrake up for the corners and get sideways though. But ive built the car more the mountain roads than rally courses haha
@kr3am8184 жыл бұрын
@@JacksonStrain haha thats why i asked. Because i see a lot of people lowering there evos and they are commonly known as rally cars but props to you my friend. Ohh also, dont sell your car for less than what you would pay for as is. And dont sell it to some young dumb kid who thinks society owes them, sell it to someone who is mature and sees the same potential as what I or you do. You seem like a nice down to earth and mature person that i would hangout with.
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
@@kr3am818 yeah if we had any good dirt roads around here I'd probably raise the suspension back up and take it for little rally runs all the time but instead we have lots of great mountain roads so lowered is the better option for me. No plans to see anytime soon and still have more plans for the car yet so don't need to worry there. Thanke Alex I appreciate the kind words

That's a great round up of costs, ive got lots of mates who blow money on new cars every few years like Golf Rs and new WRXs and have no attachment to these cars, others blow it on piss up trips to the US and Europe. None of this is equivalent to building something you love and care for like an Evo ;)
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jethro and that's exactly my thoughts on it, yeah I could easily have sold and been through multiple cars by now and just added wheels and exhausts only to them and would have lost way more money than what I've sunk into my Evo. But instead I've been able to build my dream daily driver and enjoy the process
@Schoolofmonkey4 жыл бұрын
Hmm, it's amazing when you lay it all out how much things add up to. When I'm done on the RA it'll be around $66,000, its um ok wow territory. But the question is this what we've spent would we buy another sort of sports car or it was worth it. I think it's worth it to keep these car's around and proving their place is history 👍
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it definitely all adds up and a lot of my car was built on a budget with used parts and deals i got. I would consider an R35 GTR or an Audi RS3 but with everything I've spent i still wouldn't be able to afford either with the purchase price of my car plus the mods list.
@Tiagotaf4 жыл бұрын
You car looks soooooo beautiful! Congrats man! The blue/black hue is fantastic! Have you considered upgrading the dash to the newer TFT color display? It makes such a great difference from the monochromatic red, and it's not that expensive. I say that because mine came factory with it, and when I drove a friend's older car with the monochrome one, it felt really awkward. And, the display color is black/blue/white so it would even make your interior look nicer as well. It's just a suggestion, and not really something that will make any difference other than being easy on the eyes. I just find it so fun to look at the white SAWC graphics, while the red is harder to see.
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tiago I appreciate that, and yes I really do want to get the colour display and it has been on my list of part to get for a long time, unfortunately they go for fair bit of money here in Australia but I will eventually get one as the interior is my next area I want to modify

I’m thinking about whether I should spend money and do up my lancers outside and when I hit my opens I should put a Ralliart turbo in it, or I should just save and buy an Evo X in a couple years.
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
My advice would he to buy parts to do up your Lancer that you can then swap back out and put into an Evo or RA once you upgrade. So keep all stock parts and change things like lights, interior pieces, headunit ect

@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ken, and yeah if the BBS came in a 9.5 size instead of the 8.5 I'd have kept them for longer as I do like them but after a few years running I wanted a different look plus a wider tyre. It's definitely evolved (no pun intended) over time that's for sure

We build evo 5 to tens. Exellent engineered cars. We recentley had a fq360 as were in the uk and we get the fq models. All we did was a cat delete and a stage 2 remap was too crazy. Its a shame the usa didnt get the fq models.

Hey Jackson, Do you mind I ask you a question again? :D - I am having trouble to figure out how the DRL works on the EVO X MR,is this even available to Australian model? the headlight housing definately has the bulb in place and they H11 style bulb. does the DRL work on your MR?
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
Hi mate in Australia we don't get DRLs we instead have AFS which is adaptive lighting system and basically when you turn a corner it will light up beside you so you see gutters ect at night. Not sure if it can be converted to be used as a DRL like in the U.S but im sure it could. I don't have it working on my car as it's a GSR with SST but on my wifes MR it works and is great

FQ 440 of the shelf?? with waranty, not a better option?
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
Those were only made for the U.K and are extremely rare from what I've seen. I just had a quick look on autotrader in the UK and only came up which converts to $83,000 aud so definitely a better option to build your own Evo rather than buying an FQ440 as it will be half the price

How much would it cost to take all those parts off and put it on a standard Lancer 2008 there's 16 model that's what I would do you would have yourself a under $8,000 Evo fully customized and upgraded

A lot of the performance parts and body parts wouldn't fit on a standard lancer unfortunately so it's hard to say what It would cost as really just the interior, wheels and suspension stuff would be able to be transferred over
