Bro. After spending an unmentionable amount of time trying to mix a song recorded by thesrtists themselves from two different locations mics daws etc. i needed this video yesterday man.
@StevieSouthOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Watched this video yesterday, just wanted to come back & say that it really saved my mixes. Legit, it was like some crazy secret sauce or some sh!t. I recently took a year break & lost over 1,000 dollars worth of studio equipment during it. Well my life is incomplete without music, so I refuse to let that stop me from pursuing this. Needless to say, my quality suffered greatly due to my equipment loss, and how I was used to mixing didnt work anymore because Im using a Yeti microphone & a pair of astros I bought from walmart . Compared to my Focusrite & NT-1A that I WAS using, well theres really no comparison, it just sounds ugly. I was feeling hopeless & going to give up til I saved up enough money to buy my equipment again. But after watching this video I no longer need to do that. A legit saving grace, thank you.

Let me help some of you with FL Studio Go to your Beat/Instrumental mixer track. Put a fruity balance and then below fruity balance put a fruity Db meter. Turn the volume on the fruity balance down to gain stage the beat track like this video does with step 1 with pro tools trim. *Notice that if you try turn the fader down on the beat/instrumental track the fruity dB meter does not go lower, only turning the volume inside fruity balance affects it.

@@certifiedyouss I don’t use one plugin specifically for gain I turn my beat down to match the vocals and eq the highs and lows then use a multiband imager to level it out in the mids. when I’m compressing my vocals I use the gain on it to bring my levels up equally..fruity balance is a good gain tool though

Gain Staging Question: Does this mean I use for example Fruity Balance in FL Studio before the Plug-ins? What if I only use the Fader to turn down the instrumental?
@ucheemmanuel84663 жыл бұрын
Yes you could use the fruity balance to gain stage properly to avoid clipping and then you could go on and add your remaining plugins before doing your volume balancing with your fader which is just an output and the clip gain plugin an input.

Gain stage with the channel rack
@ViralVideos-pr2oi2 жыл бұрын
I'm struggling to understand how you determined that your vocal is sitting between 1k-2k hurtz at 7:40. How did you come to that conclusion? Are you simply just looking at the waves of your vocals on the EQ and seeing what frequency range falls in the middle of your vocal waves?
