If you have some paperwork in a government office or something, you bring lokum to officer to get things faster. And there is a understanding at Turkish people when they visit someone, "I shouldn't go there with my hands empty". Lokum is the easiest way to handle it. Otherwise I don't think any Turkish people say "I want to eat lokum today". But if you have more heavy stuff that harder to make it possible, you should bring baklava to the officer.

I've never been to Turkey or had pide, so please explain why it is totally different from pizza? Because from just looking at it, it looks exactly the same as pizza, only differently shaped.
@WAYAWAYWithAsh5 жыл бұрын
🤣🤫 Maybe some of our Turkish friends can answer this but to be honest that’s why we tease about it. They are very similar but there is no tomato sauce and the shape is different. Im guessing a pizza would also traditionally be from Italy and most have adopted the name but pide canes from Turkey with a few slight differences so it for sure wouldn’t be called a pizza. -Ash
@yigitbolcan3125 жыл бұрын
There is no actual differences, just difrent shaped pizza with same ingredients and base cheese is different than pizza, thats it.

The biggest difference is the dough. Dry yeast is used in pizza dough and fresh yeast is used in pide dough. Also, pide dough contains liquid oil.
