@@errornoname4763 Paracord doesn't break, jerk. Just because you cut the paracord, doesn't mean this guys is terrible. Before you say "well you don't know that" I know just one string (with a knot of paracord of course) can hold up to eight hundred pounds. I know, I tested it.

Hey man just wanted to thank you! I made my fist monkey knot after watching this video, and I have been doing this kinda stuff since it was called macrame! Lol for anyone reading this I used a pipe cleaner with a little hook to mark the start it was easy to pull out and left no trace!! Thanks again brother!!

I made some before using crown knots as the core. It worked really well, I was able to pull them super tight, and they were nice and round. I wanted one to be bigger, so I tied one crown inside another, and that worked out great.

Two things: 1) Tim, I've perused just about every channel offering paracord bracelet tutorials, and yours are the best, by FAR. Thank you for putting the time, energy, and effort into making these videos. I think I may speak for everyone when I say that. 2) If you don't have a steel ball bearing available, don't want to fork out the dough for 'em, or what-not, but DO feel like running to Walmart and/or the Dollar Store, you can use polymer clay, and a marble if you like, to make the center bead. I took a small marble from a bag I had lying around (bought at the dollar store), and some scrap Sculpey Bake Shop clay ($1/2oz. @ Walmart in the crafting section ;) ), and made my own 'ball bearing'. It might not be as heavy as a steel ball, but it's got a really good weight to it, and works perfectly for the center of a monkey's fist. ... Just my two cents (OBviously, LOL ).

I've never tried this and probably won't because I no longer live aboard nor cruise. but the big prob with retrieving dropped keys is that keys are not made of magnetic material so if you drop your key ring, you get to dive for them. I finally made a lanyard with a cork net float seized into the bitter end. You still can't see the keys, but the float extends the lanyard high enough to be seen or snagged. The net float isn't the saltiest looking thing in the world but your tutorial gives me the idea of using a ping pong ball instead of the steel ball bearing for the core. The ball would give enough floatation to stretch out the lanyard and give the droppee a chance to recover his keys without diving into the muck and slime of a marina.

is this good enough for a begleri?

The size shoudl be ok, but it won't be heavy enough. I've tried making a begleri with marbles in the center, but even that isn't really heavy enough so it doesn't flip well.

i just made a begleri using your tutorial... instead of a marble I use a led ball fishing sinker. Its a great weight :)
