One of the other cool things about the app, is that you can start to see cruise activities prior to your sailing date. You can also change the ship / date to a cruise you aren't reserved On. Great for researching on your own what the activities might look like or what the menus are. Doesn't always seem to be a rhyme or reason to when they get everything loaded.

How do you know the theme night before the cruise starts

It is listed in the app in a bit of a hidden location. Click on the "welcome aboard" banner about 66% down the screen and the attire for the night is listed at the top. Hope this helps!

The message function works great or it did on the Oasis. There was a large group of us, and we were able to keep up with each other through the messenger function.

haha, yes, if you are in airplane mode, you will need to turn on your wifi and then connect to their network by selecting "just use the app". It will give you full app functionality for no cost.

Hey there! I actually have this down for a video to make! My favorite is Fre wines onboard. They are tough to find but vintages is normally a good bet. It is "alcohol-removed". You can also sometimes find Heineken 0. Past those, most non-alcoholic drinks seem to be just juices and sugars.... more to come!

Hey Brandon, thank you for this! First, how do you get to your boarding pass - I don't have a bubble for boarding (maybe it's too soon? Cruise is 3months away). Also, I have booked a second cabin on this cruise, with my fiance's son's name. Is there a way I can view that room under the same app?

Hey Marie! Yeah, your early on the boarding pass and that will be available much closer to boarding after you have fully checked-in online. For accessing the fiancé's son's account, you should be able to do this if you have their cruise reservation number. I would start on a computer and then switch to the app as I find it is easier sometimes.

My TA or RCCL agent linked my travel companions. You will have to ask your travel companions for their RCCL reservation # before you call.

RCL doesn't make this easy. You or your TA will need to call in with each parties confirmation number to have them linked. So silly they make this a process but they do.

You are talking my language and my color coded spreadsheet is to the rescue! From March 9, 2015 to December 31, 2021 sailing. This was on 80 cruises and 344 nights at sea. Keep in mind, post covid, we were getting double points and for a solo, suite level weekend cruise, I was getting 18 points per weekend.

So some of these activities require reservations outside of the shows and excursions ? If so, do you reserve a day before? When do they release the activities schedule? A month before? A week before?

It really all just depends and wish there was a better answer. It also depends on your ship. Most small ships, you don't need a reservation for anything. If you are on an Oasis Class, Quantum, or Icon, this is where those will kick in. Start checking the app about 45 days out but sometimes the schedule isn't 100% loaded until boarding day.

Not necessarily. One person can make all the reservations etc. if you have someone who likes to take charge. Think it is always nice for both to be able to see the schedule etc though.

Keep checking the system online before boarding, be the first to board and go directly to the app, or go to the box office onboard. Reservations are only needed for Oasis, Icon, and Quantum class ships.

Hey do you know if you use their gift cards instead of a credit card for things that you can charge to the stateroom if you can look up how much is left on the app

You have to charge everything to your CPS card. From there, how you pay for that can be a combination of multiple payment options from credit cards, cash. I am not familiar with how gift cards work honestly, but assume it would be just another form of payment

The app is useful but I still would prefer a paper copy of the daily planner IMO. OTOH, if RCL had a PDF of the daily planner on the app, that would be a good alternative (NCL do this with their app).

Hey Cindy! This seems to change! When logging into the website it gives me a count down but I just went into the app and they have changed it again! I couldn't find this either. Granted, I feel like most like to download a separate "countdown clock" app to add to their home screen of their phone. Easier to access and see quickly.

Does using this app cost money once you are on the ship? I heard that you need pay to $2.00 a day per person to be able to message people through this app, but what about just being able to access the ship info?

It is 100% free to view and see all the information! No worries there! The extra charge you are referencing was if you want to use the app to message people onboard. Luckily, this has been removed.

Find the show in the app and choose the date and time, then click on it. It is easy.

Depends on the ship! The main place you will want to ensure you have reservations are on Oasis and Quantum Class ships. Any other ship, reservations act more as a notification to remind you that you have plans. To reserve, find the event on the app under "daily planner", click on the theater show, and then "reserve now". They do make it an easy process but isn't always needed.

You do not. When you connect to the wifi, it will give you the option to log into the internet or just use the app. You will need to connect to their internet to use the app but will not have to pay.

The app is pretty meh on Android IMO. First off, it likes to disconnect randomly and you often need to exit the app and restart it. Second -- and this is a BIG one -- you cannot add a non-RC event to your calendar. So if you plan to meet your friends at 3 pm at the Schooner Lounge, you can't put an event in your calendar to remind you. We were on a Fan Club cruise with a band that had multiple shows per day in various venues, but those were not in the app. Ergo, you need to use your regular calendar app AND the RC app to see what you have coming up. Thirdly, it's also missing key items like the breakfast/lunch venue hours and such so you're forced to find the day sheet to look those up. And it would be nice if you could use your phone to pay for drinks and whatnot instead of needing the physical card.

It's funny, I used to say this too until I went on other cruise lines like Virgin Voyages and MSC. Then I started to say "The Royal app isn't soo bad after all". None of them are great apps but Royal and Celebrities are a step above the others.

Easiest ways to contact the Travel agent that booked your sailing to add it. Otherwise, you will need to call in to the cruise line to have them add it. This Cannot be done online
