🌱 what is ASMR?🌱
ASMR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, is described as a tingly sensation or feeling that travels from the base of the scalp down the limbs and can manifest in different parts of the body. It causes a lovely, relaxing feeling to the people who experience it, as well as sometimes pleasant 'shivers', and can help with things like insomnia or trouble sleeping. It can occur in situations like hearing a particular sound or 'trigger', and many people experience varying degrees of the phenomenon. Not everyone who listens or watches ASMR videos experiences the sensation however! Some people utilize the sounds of a soothing voice or certain trigger(s) to help fall asleep or relax, without feeling the 'tingles'. It is a blossoming community online, whose main purpose is to bring tranquility and tingles to whoever enjoys it! ✧

Besides copyright issues, the reason why taking pictures with flash in a museum is usually forbidden is because museum lights are regulated to minimize the damage that exposure to light causes on the exhibits, and camera flashes offset that.

Can confirm as an archivist! We work very hard to keep artifacts in optimal temperature, humidity, and lighting conditions. Which is honestly a lot harder than you would think.

Generally I despise flash photography in places it doesn't belong (which is most places outside of a studio). Occasionally I'll have someone come into where I work with the most ridiculous flashes lighting up the entire building and making me think it's the flash from the fire alarms

I believe one, two or even a hundred flashed don't have any effect but just remember that daily at least a thousand people visit a muesum. So that's like, 5000 of flashes in business days of a week. 20000 a month, and 240000 if every single person used flash on their camera. That would ruin a picture regardless of age i suppose, let alone ancient artifacts.

As someone who works in a museum, people absolutely do not read the signs about what you can and can't have in the galleries. And our rules are very lax. It's mostly just about food and drink.

Just flew back from NZ to london over 2 days, got stopped at every airport for a bomb check 😅 looked at my tickets and they say "the works" at the top, wonder if thats code or something. they do like a swab with a mass spectroscoper, and then wanna see inside your bag. didnt feel too invasive. why me tho

did a deep think, getting explosives through is pretty difficult but poisons and plastic guns seem doable still. the hardest bit is what on earth you do, since planes have stuff like radios and trackers that cant be turned off, plain clothes guards, etc. smuggling any specific drug seems hard to, you gotta be EXTREMELY clean to avoid spectroscopy since thatll pick up individual molecules: if youve done coke in the last month itll pick it up from your hair 😂
