How To Cosplay the Twelfth Doctor UPDATED - Series 8 | Doctor Who

It's time for another cosplay tutorial and in this episode we're talking about the costumes Peter Capaldi wore as the Twelfth Doctor in his first series! This was definitely him at his most severe, prim and proper. From button up shirts to the infamous holes jumper, here is my guide on how to cosplay the 100% rebel Time Lord himself!

Oh, one detail about the trousers--Twelve always wore slim-cut trousers. I recently upgraded one of my Twelve cosplays and believe me, going from regular cut to slim cut trousers makes a LOT of difference.

If I had to pick one coat I would pickk the velvet one because it's so gorgeous. The best part of his costume is the fact a die hard fan could walk down the street with any of them on and not look out of place

I love the S8 looks! I wish the cardigan got used more. I had wondered if they should have used a cardigan instead of a hoodie for the Last Christmas look and onwards, but I don't know how good that would look. There's something about Capaldi's costumes that look so real. I don't know if it's the variations or the textures or maybe Capaldi himself, but they feel so lived in and real rather than something from a studio.

Crazy story here...well not so crazy but just epic all around...Does every doctor's costume wear seem to just ya know...go with you. Man I so wish you were an official Doctor cause I'd tell the writers to do an episode where you can't decide what to wear and you're browsing through old favorites 😅

The colour of the trousers are the hardest to decide on the colour because in some shots they look Dark blue and others they look black. Can't wait for the series 10 video

There’s a company called Revival Vintage that makes spearpoint collared shirts for around £10 cheaper than the one shown in the video, if that’s any help to anyone :)

12 is my favourite doctor. So i'm aiming to get all of his cosplay's eventually. As for the holey jumper if you don't want to do making holes just use adhesive felt and cut round it to make it look like dots. That's how i've done mine :).

He's one of my favourite Doctors too with Eleven, Four, Three and Nine. 🙂 And yeah I agree, Twelve was a lot more severe and stripped down in Series 8, especially with the sheer variety of costumes snd how his costumes would grow, evolve and change from Series 9 onwards. 😊

The 12th Doctor is my favourite New Who Doctor and my favourite Classic Who and favourite overall Doctor is the 6th Doctor (yes really)

I subscribe to the 'Charity Shop" budget and I've been fortunate enough to find my pieces from thrift stores ( even the red velvet coat" for the long cravat, I can recommend the women's scarf section for a long satin scarf that can be tied up to be a convincing stand in for a cravat.
