Excellent discussion! Pastor T is articulate and he complements Sister Kano’s contribution. She sounds like me when I try to talk about our situation/culture/beliefs, etc. I’m glad she mentioned Chancellor Williams and his book The Destruction of Black Civilization. We must give ourselves permission to be true to ourselves and that includes reconciling with what was stolen- our culture, belief systems, knowledge, beauty standards, etc.

Dr Kingori told the both of them to come with reference books last time. The lady has quoted I think two or more. Mr. T is all about big names and theological terms which he was taught in bible school. Surely, shall we rely on that one source of information which you accept yourself that it was twisted to favour the interest of the colonialist and white supremist? My message to the Lady is please if you have the energy, continue edifying them, but if you feel worn out, it's not a must. Mental slavery is deep rooted, I mean, think about more than 500 years. It's not their fault. That's why I feel your pain in your speech and people here are quick to say that you are shouting. They don't understand. Probably if they were the ones beaten to death or sold as slaves, then looking forward to this generation of brainwashed Africans, then they would understand why your speech has so much rage, for lack of a better word. Otherwise, good job. You're doing your ancestors proud.

I agree with her on the new generation not teaching vernacular is bad!
@lekis59752 жыл бұрын
@Samuel Ngugi is not just bad, it's SELF SABOTAGE, it means you have turned your mind over to the other people. Quiet as it's kept, back in the 1930 some Boers immigrated from South Africa to Eldoret. The British welcomed them with open arms, after all they were looking to turn Kenya into a white man's land. Anyway, after a few years, the Boers started to build their own school. Which pissed the British off. When the British asked why the Boers were building their own schools instead of using Brit schools, the Boers said it was important they build their own school so that they could teach their children Afrikaans. When Brits got pissed and said Eldoret was British territory and to teach Afrikaans was a sign of disloyalty. The Boers said, they needed to teache their children Afrikaans because in the next 5-10 years the elders would be dead, and that would make it difficult to teach their children the lingo. I don't know how the dispute ended, however that spat really highlights the power of culture, especially LANGUAGE. Wahenga walisema, mkosa mila ni mtumwa. And truly, Kenyans are nothing but slaves to all things white. We can't even share our secrets and strategies, without the white man catching wind of our plans!

It's true Christian (Religion)it all started in Africa now for me what I can say is that... Spiritual Awakening is all been within theeself, reconnecting oneself with nature..And all that,like one having a devine life you know... They both making sense but in religion you're kind of programmed to what you should believe on and you shouldn't question anything about life,where life is all about questioning and observing which is not observed... When One discovers what's within, nothing to come can make them great as they're already are... Cos they tell you,"Your body is the temple of God"when they know the real meaning about it.. But when you experience the spiritual Awakening, there's some point it's also forbidden even in the bible...Yeah cos you may even die,loose life... Sending love and light to you all
