We put 8' metal chain link fencing on our cabin, wrapped the whole cabin. works like a charm, we covered the door with a metal bed frame with chain link fencing, it hangs on 2 large hooks and a locking bar on the bottom, no bear will ever get in there....We also hang cans of bear spray close to the cabin as they love to bite into cans....over the years we have had two cans punctured and no damage to our cabin , so it works...

Nice to have a familiar place to have a coffee and a dart. That goes for trapping, fishing, etc. The sounds of nature, especially in winter are good for the soul, even if the coffee comes from Columbia and the tobacco from Virginia. Great vid. Very informative and glad to see you making adjustments to increase your harvest.

Welcome back, Andrew. Years ago I camped for the summer in bear country and followed the advice of a local old timer to minimize bear damage. That was to leave the door open because they would get in, one way or the other, even just from curiosity. Bears came in, but there was never any torn tent because they always went in the easiest way, which was the open door.

Every single 330 cubby set should have a big foothold trap set behind it, blended in the snow, where most animals are guaranteed to circle behind it. It would be a sneaky way to catch some of the "smart ones". No bait, no lure. Just a thought 👍

When you fix the cabin . use a bunch of drywall screws or spikes nailed into ta piece of ply wood covering the doors and windows. It will armour the cabin. If they try to get in they will have to get the nails in their paws. Also nail a bunch of nails through some ply or 2X 6`s on the ground in front of the doors and windows. Secure them to the cabin or they will dig them out or just toss them aside. .They will have to walk on the nails hehe and I`m sure they will not do that again .Personally I would sharpen the nails to a real fine point too. Hehe Cheers.
