Among the many priceless gems from this video is the brotherhood of these men & this community! I started my trapping experience in PA, setting & checking traps before and after school when I was 12 years old......now 57 and itching to do it again!

When I started trapping in 1970, good trapping information was hard to come by. Most of the older trappers saw me as competition and would offer no help whatever. i learned by trial and error and believe me, there were a lot of errors and frustration. With all the information on youtube, a trapper today has at his fingertips what took me quite a few years to learn. Andrew and folks like him do folks who have the great burning desire to learn trapping a huge service. Kudos to you Andrew.

FHA sure has a strong commitment to trapper education. Looked like a fun time with the Marks. Also, it looked like you were having a blast waterskiing with the 'boggan on the top water. LOL.

Most excellent! Those guys were the business! (literally / figuratively). How important is the right gear (kit) and machinery in that awesomely beautiful, though potentially dangerous, environment. This kind of education is priceless stuff to those of us who watch; it would have been interesting to see a vid re the Cree People's cooking of the beaver, and, to see how tasty the cooked product was! Lots of potential for further development in this series. Thanks for sharing.

This was awesome. I binge watched it this week, and really enjoyed it. Only complaint was they could have made it longer to show more of you going out. Especially when it was really cold, or foul weather, no footage of you in the skinning shack, stuff like that, but for sure it would have been too long. Wouldn't have wanted to loose what they did use either, so for the time they had, great series. Btw, the band is awesome. Does anyone know if they have stuff recorded, or is it some local band that performed for the show?

Hi from England! I've been a subscriber for a while and watched nearly all the vids as we don't get to trap the same as you guys, although I hunt deer and shoot pests like rabbits and foxes! Love the vids and the down to earth way you do things! Can I ask which jacket it is you have with the fur harvesters logo as I would like to try and get one shipped to the UK if possible? All the best, Stratts

Mark Stratton Do you tan your rabbit and fox hides? I'm really interested in different ways in which people skin and tan rabbits.
@markstratton81707 жыл бұрын
Tristan CF Unfortunately there is no real call for any skins and pelts in the uk and they end up getting thrown away mostly! I have tried to recently start salting the deer skins to try and preserve to sell and use them myself but it is hard to get any interest! I am going to try tanning some for myself but I am quite unique around these parts even hunting let alone using the fur for anything!! 😔

Leaving beaver for 3-4 days is not a problem as long as it isn`t too warm, they don`t bloat like meat eaters. plus the blood coagulates and its less messy.
