I had the previous Tractive version for about 3 yrs and it worked great. This new version works as well. I like the rubber clip. My lab plays hard with other dogs so I suggest using a zip tie to also help secure the device to the collar. The rubber clip can easily come off it it gets hung up on a branch.

So glad I came across your reviews of tractive! I am planning a trip and I am taking my dog with me and I may need to leave him alone for a few hours on an airbnb or hotel room so I definitely want to keep track of his location. I have read so many mixed reviews about it but I guess having some GPS tracker is better than not having any at all.

It's worth having if your dog gets out of the yard you get an alert and than another alert if he's like 20ft outside the yard also in a forest if your hiking and your dog gets lost no problem amazing piece of mind

Ladies slippers in orchid family, who knew? Used to see them up north in Laurentians between Mont St. Sauveur & Tremblant! Great product review, has so many features like a fit bit as well! Hadn't heard of this brand. Will share in group, where I often hear about & search for lost dogs & recommend these, especially to huskey owners! Glad Royce is almost fully recovered!

I had an elderly client who hired a young man to walk her dog. One day she decided to go to the store and saw the young man and her dog. They were standing on the sidewalk just around the corner from her house. He was playing on his phone, waiting to return the dog and get paid. Needless to say he lost the job. She would have loved to have had one of these!

The wifi battery saver is great you set up a Perimeter Like your fence in your yard, if they get through the fence in your yard, you'll get an alert. And then if they exceed, like, say, 20 feet, you'll get a secondary alert telling you, your dog is out of your yard immediately. That's so amazing and crucial.

I've just got my newest puppy - just 2 days (golden retriever named, his name is The Great Gazzo - I'm already already calling him Zoo-ey). I'm so much in love with this little bundle of affection that if if I had a cabin this product would be my next purchase. Outside of the clip breaking which do you prefer, the Findster or the Tractive? Cell service can be spotty in the woods so trying to figure which is the best option for when camping with my dog.

Your text is saying it uses cellular network to track, but in the video (around 00:55) you state it uses satellite. So... both? Or LTE only?

Just bought this a few days ago, got premium care plan, worked for a day. Now, it is disconnecting from my Bluetooth for no fault of mine. My phone is a brand new iPhone 15 pro, I bought 3 weeks ago. The moment he leaves the house, it disconnects. I had to email Tractive. Still waiting. No number to call. We’ll see. What is frustrating is that none of the reviews cover issues like this.

I record my walks on Apple Watch and had wondered how far the dog was walking compared to me, 6month old springer spaniel who runs round like his life depends on it, convinced he was covering many more miles than me i bought the tractive. To my surprise the distance covered on my watch was the same as the distance the dog had covered on the tractive app. Clearly not possible given that the dog zig zags everywhere darts off then darts back to me absolutely covering many more steps than i am. No idea why this isn’t accurate but given that it didnt answer the question on how far the dog is covering i returned the item after 3 days of use. The walks were done in areas of good gps signal with no dips in connection. I plan to attach the Apple Watch to the dog start the workout app and see what results that gives. The device does give other info, the sleep was surprisingly accurate, for some this will be beneficial but for me didnt provide the info i was looking for. To sum up if you want an accurate number for distance covered by the dog in relation the the distance you have covered this will sadly not provide it.

Do they give multiple pet discount for the monitoring software ? Wherever you are , there’s a lot of mosquitos. Please make sure you have heartworm prevention and the leptospirosis vaccine for your pets there. Mosquitos suck !! Thanks

Difficult to get customer service help!! I’m not staying connected to gps. If I reset it, it works for a few min and then back on red. Do you have any suggestions?

I would delete the app and reinstall it. Old phone? Check your settings and make sure your phone has permission to run it

I've had this for about 2 years for my cat. Lately I've had trouble with it, not logging in. can't find signal. I tried support to help me. followed their instructions. won't work properly. I did everything they asked. It dropped out in the middle of my walk, wouldn't log back in, giving inaccurate readings. says the cat is across the street, he's sleeping in his cat tree in the house. Finally I had enough and asked for a refund of my 2 year subscription. Got some supervisor name Ivana, totally useless. No help, no answers. I guess the system is old, 2 years old. So I tried to cancel my subscription however it makes it extremely difficult to do so. I've had enough, buying something else. Grade 8 science project. I.T. dial up prodigies don't know what their doing. Useless!

I found these thing to be total garbage. I broke 2 giving baths to my dogs. Not waterproof at all and no customer support. Try and find an actual phone number for this sham company, bet you can't because they don't stand behind their product. Get it wet and the power button rusts shut and then they want you to buy a new one and wont refund your subscription even though they can see the traker is offline... Garbage!
