"Soul Defender" is an awesome and innovative blend of speed-power/thrash with a touch of metalcore. BTW, Fami's headless bass is her signature model Bacchus Woodline5AC-HL Fami. You can also see her playing that in the "Judgement Day" MV.

Fami posted a new cover of White Ash / Jails on about 16th January using what appears to be Sugi NB5 and a day later APT. ROSÉ & Bruno Mars cover where she uses her Freedom 5 string for the drum track and the Bacchus. In the background when she is doing the drum track is what appears to be a Yamaha SLB300 upright bass. So together with her new white 4 string Freedom bass she has used in some Lovebites tracks it looks like she is starting a collection.

The bass Fami is playing is her signature base, the "Bacchus Fami HL5 Headless Bass". I have never seen her playing it live (where most of the time she plays the "regular" Bacchus). However, she plays it in in this video as well as in he judgement day video and she also sometimes plays it on her own youtube channel.

I'd like to recommend "Spellbound" (live), it's very different then what you heared so far from them, but it's great song and performence ;) There are some bad quality videos on youtube, but there is also good quality, the youtube title for it is "Lovebites, Spellbound , Live In Tokyo 2021, HD"

Your timing is quite right - at this pace, you are going to inspect all of the "LOVEBITES EP II" in time for the new mint-quality DVD / Blu-Ray Live "No More Tragedy" (their Tokyo concert of September 1, 2024) to drop at he beginning of March! This EP starts kind of jumpy... literally, you can even see Miyako jump on "Unchained" :)), but it gets heavier as it goes, so that's a definite plus. \m/ The scary thing is, I was all prepared for this to be my least favorite song of the five new ones... except with each listening it has been growing on me. And AGAIN, I will have to concede I like them all! "Soul Defender" seemed to me initially too "regular" in its form and theme; and Asami has sure written a lot deeper lyrics before. But overall, I just realize that they serve here exactly what they set out to accomplish - a heroic Speed Power track that is supposed to keep the listener well disposed - for the mood would darken soon... as in, next song. :D
