I went into labor with my son, and only child, on February 1st. His father was abusive and I left on Memorial Day. It's a bittersweet day for me. I don't think I could get through it without the addition of Imbolc and Brighid. It's how I get through and celebrate what was a very dark time for me.

I love you!!! Showing us that disorganized side of yourself was brave and refreshing!! I have an entire basement that looks like that and also one entire room that I lovingly call the Room of WTF. I pick up an item that needs a place and I say “WTF do I do with this?” Then I put is in the Room and as soon as I open the door and see all the stuff piled in it I say “ugggg….WTF” 😂

I grew up in France in a non religious family but my mum always cooked some french crepes during this time of the year. It's known by the name of Chandeleur. Now I'm living in Ireland and I love to reconnect with those ancients believes all around the world (and still cook french crepes for my little ones too 🤤)

12:19 As an American, I second this. I was amazed (and shamefully a tiny bit jealous) when I learned about the maternity leave other countries give. Thanks for such a fun video. Happy Imbolc! 🌼 🌞
@CorpseBride64
@CorpseBride64 3 жыл бұрын
It's not just the maternity leave, it's also the paid vacations, healthcare. European countries just seem to understand how important it is to have time to reflect, rejuvenate, and reboot. The states are terrible about self care, it's just about running yourself into the ground. That is why we need to have a solid self care routine. To take care of body & spirit!

I’m from Pennsylvania, and I never knew the historical connection to groundhogs day. To me it was always just a big street party of dancing and drinking to stay warm waiting for Phil to come out of his den. 😆 As a kid, Punxatawney Phil came to my school and was paraded around for us to see. Haha I am so grateful for your channel! It has helped me connect with my ancestors and explore the traditions that weren’t able to be passed down. Thank you!

I am definitely appreciating your Sabbat videos with the history. I have been new to being in the witch community since mid last year and this is my first complete Wheel of the Year (Samhain 2021 to Samhain 2022) where I’m just learning about what each Sabbat is about. So I definitely appreciate your knowledge. I also just enjoy your lighthearted and fun videos. I also appreciate the fact that you were super transparent with us. So many KZbinrs show their homes and it seems like their homes are Always neat and organized, unless that’s what the channel is truly about. So I’m glad I’m not the only one with a chaotic at times looking house. Haha! And the *unmentionables* was a very brave thing to show. Haha! Thanks for the disclosure as I had my toddlers watching with me on what Imbolc is all about. 👍 Anyways, I’m loving the channel and appreciate your hard work, especially being a busy mom of 2 young kids in your household. Thank you! And yes…the American Government could learn a thing or two about maternity and paternity leave from Europe. We definitely don’t get long enough to be with our children to enjoy them those first couple of years, when development happens So rapidly!

In Spain, women have their own festival on February 5th. Traditionally, it was the only time they enjoyed time off from household duties around the year. They would gather and party and were allowed to be somewhat naughty around men, who oftentimes would feel intimidated. I never thought it'd be related to Candlemas! Thanks for the video.

It was so reassuring that I am still a good mom and human. We have another entire room full of things from renovations and whatever else, that is now referred to as Hell Room. I have been tackling all of these things myself the past week, unknowingly in the spirit of Imbolc. 🌚

I'm so proud of you for decluttering so much!!! We keep decluttering and we're still overwhelmed! I'm considering waiting until it gets a little warmer, maybe April or May, and just getting rid of nearly everything I own. Go minimalist. I have a small 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house and a family of 4. I can't move soon enough! LOL Maybe if I get enough decluttered, the eventual move won't be so daunting.

Decluttering and downsizing can be such a daunting task honestly, especially if you own a lot of stuff. I live with my fiance and our two cats in a small two bedroom, one and a half bath trailer and it's insane. We would probably have more space if we were properly utilizing storage bins or something to that affect but we aren't and it's getting out of hand. Wanted to have gotten the yearly cleaning out of the way last week, we even took off for it, but we only managed to deep clean our bathrooms and we rested the rest of the time. We both work 10-13 hrs a day so, not much time left for cleaning except daily upkeep.

I harvest and weave Brigid crosses and hang them in my doorways for protection. A tradition my mother Shannon passed on to me. While I weave, I think of gratitude, and lessons past and still to come. I also begin planting seeds inside, like my tomatoes and pumpkins and organize the garden area with new fresh ideas and decorations to hang and bird feeders! I love that you make candles and I definitely have the supplies to try this myself.

I am so proud I knew of how the groundhog tradition came to America. Cuz I am PA born and raised. (P. S. Pennsylvanians typically don't say we're from Pennsylvania, we say we're from PA)

Oooh those donuts look amazing. I’ve made jam donuts a few times pre kids being born and they were just the most amazing donuts I’ve ever eaten because they were so fresh! Hope you’re feeling well. You look glowing. Imbolc blessings. I just love this sabbat so much. I made a video on my channel a few weeks ago and made an oil for Brigid for spells and rituals. I’m planning to make a new Brigid’s cross this year and sew some mugwort seedlings 🌱 😊 beautiful video thank you for sharing 🙏 xx

Imbolc in Canada is the very deep mid-winter (as in: you're only halfway in!). For french-canadian population, there's the french tradition of crepes (associated with the "Chandeleur") with cream. Happy Imbolc!

I finally found a kitchen witch youtuber!! Oh I'm so glad I stumbled onto your channel, I've been doing kitchen witchery and candle magic for years just going off of what I've learned from family and random books or articles. I'm happy I found you because this means I get to actually watch someone practice the craft and also educate at the same time, it feels so refreshing. Thank you so much for making such a great channel and video!

Fun hearing you talk about our PA Grundsau Day tradition! My grandfather and father went to the Grundsau Lodge on this Day and had to speak no English or pay a fine! 300 years in PA and still passing on the traditions! This year I’ll make Fasnacht kuche for 2/21/23

This makes me feel so much better! Thank you for showing you’re mess, I never see anyones mess and I’m so judgmental of myself. My garage is a nightmare and I’m terrified of spiders so I won’t organize it anymore. So nothing gets stacked nicely away anymore-just tossed in there until my teens want to brave it and get their activities out.

Oh I feel your pain 😅❤️ I will definitely do a video on cleansing soon where I incorporate some of the dealing with mess things. Luckily I do not hoard - it is more of a time issue haha I just throw everything up there and then forget it is there 😂 once a year I then throw everything out again and make it pretty.

Thank you! I’ve been looking forward to this! I love the Schneeglöckchen (did I spell that correctly?) on the thumbnail-it is the best harbinger of spring. Here in the Northeast U.S, the snowdrops I planted in the autumn are under a blanket of snow we know they are just waiting to emerge.

As a British Pagen I've been extremely laxed over the years, but im determined to get back into my herbalism, witchery and celebrations. Thank you for your insight and being an amazing person ❤❤❤❤
