Hi The Woke Salaryman, I am from Myanmar and was born in Chin state, the least developed state in Myanmar. I have been a regular fan of your comics for some years and only today, I found out your youtube channel. Though I came from rather disadvantaged background, I was able to get proper education in a couple of SEA countries. I never wanted nor cared to get rich in life but your comics made me understand that I had to be financially secure in life despite my belief. So that's what I did. After earning what I consider enough, I always walked away from other projects or money. Instead I did whatever I enjoyed. Right now, Myanmar is under the military coup and I work closely with the resistance groups. Thankfully, we are winning and gaining ground steadily against the military dictatorship. Now I am broke as hell and barely managing my finances but I don't mind it at all. If I make out alive with this coup, I know I can build a life I am proud of and of financially comfort easily. Just want to thank you here for your comics cos they helped me a lot with my attitudes toward finance and work!

Such a nice video that resonate a lot with my situation. The solution I found to take risks to be creative is to start a creative nusiness on my free time, as a side project. Then it really gets a long term project because you don't have that much time but you're also super free to do and test whatever you want

absolutely love your content, it resonates with me so hard as an individual who worked in creative full time and a creator on the side. looking forward to more!

Thanks for talking about the business side of being creative. It’s important to balance projects you love and those that pay the bills. Plus, having an excited and motivated team helps create amazing work.

I would say audit or accounting itself can be meaningful because the numbers tell you a story of how the business is doing and what is it planning to do. But if our mentality is just looking at numbers by itself then yeah its really boring and pointless. Afterall, humans have the mental capacity to give meaning to something. A stone can be interesting if you associate your form of meaning to it :) If you've read till the end, thanks for listening ❤

Hi Wei Choon, thanks for sharing this video. I've always found your perspectives to be very insightful and grounded - always a joy to listen to and learn from your views. Found this video to be insightful and useful even though I'm not in the creative business myself. Just a comment please - perhaps can consider not having music in the background. I feel the music does not add much value esp to such a video form where the focus is on the sharing of your thoughts. But overall I really enjoyed this video and looking forward to more! Thank you.

Great conversation, but the only time to be unproductive is on the creative's own rest time, not during office hour unfortunately....and tats why creative is always busy and i don't think other people will understand especially spouse who are not a creative person....

Thanks for sharing your transition to a business owner. It is indeed insightful. Sorry I am not being fussy but you might want to consider doing away with the background music as it distracts or cover up your voice. Especially around 10:50~12:20 mark. Hopefully there is an AI option to mute the background music and listeners can just focus on your voice. Nonetheless, I hope you keep sharing about being a business owner as this is something most of us are afraid to pivot into and there are a lot of considerations, thank you.

As a creative are these videos and podcast something you like to do? Genuinely enjoy your videos and the podcasts have also seen the vids on your channel. Hope you get the keep making what you like work and doing things you love. I feel like the audio was abit weird. But towards the latter portion it was okay. Like the music balance and choice of song. But just personal opinion

10:00 it’s so sad time and time again, creators have to appease the group of cancel culture people, that although the minority, they still screw up the algorithm. Hence, always the public apologies for smth you didn’t had to apologise for.
