Susan Kay Quatro is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and actress. In the 1970s she scored a string of hit singles that found greater success in Europe and Australia than in her homeland, reaching No. 1 in the UK, other European countries and Australia with her singles "Can the Can" (1973) and "Devil Gate Drive" (1974). "Rock Hard" was the first single from her 1980 album of the same name and the last major hit Quatro had in Australia. It peaked at #9, ended a successful run with Australians fans - her debut album produced not one but two number one singles.

I saw Suzi Quatro in concert on the same bill with Kiss and Blue Oyster Cult. Great show. I will always remember when she started to play a bunch of guys rushed to the stage to get a better look at Suzi Quatro. Wonder why? 😁😁😁

This song was on the immortal "Times Square" soundtrack, one of the greatest movies nobody saw. Tim Curry played a NYC DJ who got involved with two runaways and it had one of the greatest soundtrack albums of all time. And yeah, she played Leather Tuscadero on Happy Days, too.

Suzi had been going hard for years at this point. In the early to mid-70s her style and performance seemed unique, and as a mid-teens male, she really affected me and everyone else my sex and age.

Bowie did an all white back ground for Life on Mars - probably from 1972 or so. He did it again for Be My Wife in 1977. ABBA did Mamma Mia like this in 1974. Elvis Costello did it for two videos (Pump it up & I don't wanna go to (Chelsea)) in 1978. After that it became a new wave staple. The Knack's My Sharona being a typical example.
