after 40 years there are still not many rock ballads out there better than this. A masterpiece from one of the most famous rock bands ever from Germany. Klaus Meine, the singer, is a legend here, I`ve to admitt, even though I`m more a fan of the more growling rock and metal singers.

Love to see your reactions to these timeless pieces of rock legend. A tip is to have the lyrics as well because they tell a story which is the whole point of the song, ie he made a mistake and he wants her back and hes trying his best to fix things (something we can probably all relate to) but knowing this adds so much more to the song and thats what he is trying to inject in to the song - still loving you (even though I cocked up). Just my 2 cents ofc

This is understood to be the first power ballad. (Personally, I would have gone with "Burning Heart" by Vandenberg the year before, but, nobody asked me.) Three years later, Whitesnake would become relevant. I still remember bringing this record home. I'd been a Scorps fan from way back (To the "Lonesome Crow" days. I am old.) but man, this record put them into orbit. There was nothing but hits on that album and they just stand the test of time. They've been a working band for nearly 60 years and get no love for it. Long Live Scorpions! (Especially now that Mikkey Dee is playing for them!)

France gives this song credit for the baby boom the year after its release. Scorps were very proud of that. I love it when rockers from this gen give them homage. They were really good friends and I will always value the time that I knew them, got to know many "Scorpies" (fans) in many countries over the years, and the fan-based promos I was very proud to do for them over 10 years, here in the States. BTW, the boys are STILL touring....just cut a new album last year. They have an old song called "Don't Stop At The Top" and boy they sure are living by that motto. MY motto that I gave them a few years back was "Rockers are ageless". Rock and roll peeps. (this song was very much what they really would sing for their wives, they weren't angels lol)
@cristyrawks632510 ай бұрын
Thought I would add.... Matthias had a very "bad" habit of letting it all hang out. So yes, the girl knew exactly what she was doing. lol One of my fave songs is "Bad Boys Running Wild" LIVE at the Moscow Peace Festival.

The "official" image for rock guitar, is Allen Collins Playing the Freebird solo, and jumping up in the air- long curly hair flying everywhere. I saw that silouette everywhere, growing up, without understanding where it came from. Until I saw a video of them playing Freebird, live- and holy shit! That's where that image comes from!!! The Scorps were monsters live, too. Both for their insane skill, and for the onstage antics. Rudy is a ham's ham when he's up on stage, lol.
