my friend she thinks you stealing their food that's why she scratch you, she don't want anybody to touch her food, next time buddy when u try to pet a cat while they are eating go behind them, right on the back of their head when u want to pet them while they are eating, so you wont get scratch again, some cats are really tough when you touch their food, it happens to a dog too, when you touch their food or just move their bowl on the side while they are eating, they get very angry, they growl, so let them finish their food before u pet them. i feel bad when i saw you getting scratch, u gave them food and they hurt u, that's not cool , that's sucks, be careful next time my friend, take care of them and take care of yourself.

You should start wearing protective cut-proof gloves when dealing with unknown cats. This cat may've just scratched you just because she only perceived you as a threat but other cats may be just plain evil and will attack just because they don't like you or don't like humans in general. You never know what kind of cat you'll end up dealing with.

They arn't evil, they just don't know any better and a lot of cats don't get treated humanly by people and animals learn not to trust for a reason and sadly when folks try to help they do get lashed out at just like a fearful dog. But this mother wasn't swatting because she thought he was a threat to her kittens but protecting the food she probably hasn't had in who knows how long to actually feed her kittens and help them survive to the best of her ability. Animals are not at all even and are in fact innocent creatures. They are just going by their instincts but also learning who to trust and who not to trust, how and were to get food, water and shelter and even affection sometimes. I mean take Coyotes for example, They are not at all evil but they are made out as if they attack for no reason at all but in fact they don't, They attack when they need food or protecting their turf or what they believe is their turf (Cause it's difficult for them to understand that humans tore down their woods and built a neighborhood there were their den or hunting area use to be and they are no longer aloud there and are either forced somewhere else or killed for being a normal innocents animal) now there are cases of sick ones attacking but most times you have either a hungry or protective/territorial coyote in mating or pup season. I can go on with animal behaviors like raccoons and other critters as well as cats. Animals don't attack for no reason but we humans may perceive it as it attacking for no reason when in fact the animal does indeed have a reason. But I agree he may want to have some gloves on but it's not his "duty" to wear gloves if he doesn't want to. I never worse gloves petting opossums or when feeding them when I was younger or when feeding cats or dogs. It's recommended but not required.

@@katelynnmoon4227 Well, I'm not animal behavioral expert nor am I about to claim to be one, but while I agree with what you said about how and why animals may attack humans, and that it's not necessarily because they're evil, I'm also willing to believe that if HUMANS are capable of being evil, then so can animals. I'm not saying they are evil. I'm just saying it's a possibility... or at least I think it is. That said, I don't share your belief that animals are "innocent creatures." Regarding my recommendation that he wears gloves, it was exactly that -- a recommendation. You, interestingly, even acknowledged this as such in your response! Aside from my usage of the word "should", I'm not quite certain how you construed that as me saying it was his "duty" to wear the cut-proof gloves when if you reread what I said (and ALL of what I said) you'd see I never even used the word "duty" in the entire comment! It's just like if Person A picks up a hot dish with their bare hands and gets burned, then Person B tells Person A they might want to try using oven mitts or a towel, and then Person C (someone like you) comes along and tells Person B that it's not A's "duty" to use protection when picking up hot dishes or pots, when such friendly recommendation was for the person's safety. I mean, it's one thing to misinterpret a piece of advice but for you to sit there and act as though I was making it mandatory that he wears the gloves when nothing could be further from the truth is quite offensive and rude. My comment about the gloves was simply a suggestion that he may or may not want to consider if he wants to avoid future injuries from attacks when feeding or interacting with unknown cats, seeing how serious those cuts were and how painful they must be, for his own personal safety and wellbeing. But as you so NEEDLESSLY pointed out, if he chooses against wearing the gloves, it's not my hands being scratched and bloodied, and so far be it from us to tell him what to do.

YES! I just posted another whole RANT about wearing a leather glove on the endangered HAND .... check it out! He really has a duty to the cat to wear a glove ... the kat's too stupid NOT to hurt him accidentally ... he's probably the first Human Being she's hissed-at for a hole minute, had a can of delicious food pulled away from her starving mouth ... and so then instinctively used her paw's razor-blades to slice-open that hand! Well, it's not your fault at at, it's just the instincts of a mother cat and even in that there are differences. Some mother cats are more dominant (like this one), while other mother cats are more open to people and ask them for food or even help for her and her kittens.
