So far engine build is exctly The same as The De Agostini hard top. Just for references engine block should be black from factory. However great build so far

Couldn't agree more. Nice engine but identical to Model-Space even though Agora were asked to include (and suggested themselves that they would consider) improvements suggested by previous builders.

Glad to see this Wayne! I signed up for the Gold Edition, so hopefully the first four packs will be on my porch shortly. I’m a reaaaal big fan of E-Types, and another big reason I wanted this is because my birthday is Sunday and I’ll be turning 60. I’m considering this as a birthday gift to myself. ☺️ This car would have been brand new somewhere on a Jaguar dealer lot when I came along now that I think of it.

Déjà vu after building the green tin top. Just a tip for when start doing the wheels you some double sided sticky tape on the edge/rim to help keep the spokes in place. Just finished building a real XK-type engine at work

I just ordered the full kit today! Looking forward to it. I have a "full scale" E-Type Series II roadster in signal red in my garage, so looking forward to having this Series I model in my office. Thank you for the videos, I'm sure they'll come in handy as I "binge-build" my own.

If it’s the Model Factory Hiro kit in 1/12, I have that one too (1963 car). Yes, those individual spokes are time consuming, but I can’t think of any more realistic way to get that super good look than to do it that way. Dunno when I’ll get started on that one……each part in that kit is like a kit in itself.

Strange idea coming up :) I thought I'd share while I think of it :) Similar to a head mounted torch / flashlight. Instead of the lamp, a phone holder. Then use the phone camera to record whatever you look at :) So basically a head strap with a mobile phone holder :) It would save you working out which camera gave the best angle to see what you're doing.

I'm look forward on the way delivery. I'm disappointed with De Agostini because last Pack 17 afterward never happen Pack 18 to 25 that's what I put in the box (Pack 1 to 17).

If you’re talking about the GT40, I just got pack 18 the other week to my house. They’ve been slow, but certainly not as bad as Eaglemoss where I’ve received NOTHING for over a year. I bought the entire kit (Mercedes 300SL) out of frustration from a fellow in France, and pretty much told Eaglemoss to stop everything and shove it. 😡 That put a bad taste in my mouth, and I doubt I’ll ever buy anything from them ever again.

I used Roy's stuff on the FHC version. He also made resin engine accessories that were the correct size. Best of all, he did some pre cut self adhesive carpet sets which he supplied in my choice of colour. The much-hyped real leather seats in the kit looked awful and I substituted a pair from an old Monogram kit. Don't know if Roy is still trading but well worth finding out! Anyone know if the Hachette Miura is going to make it to the UK?

Just got my pack 1 but have you noticed it is the same mould and tooling as the De Agostini Modelspace from 2017 but in red and that was a 1963 series 1 e- type.

Yes it dose seem The same kit with a different body , but I seem to rember The E type cabriolet shuld have a different length floor pan when I used to work on The full size ones.Back in the day.

Good start. I'm surprised they included cams nobody will see but left the dome nuts on the head unpainted. A touch of chrome paint will really set that head off and add a lot of interest to the top of the engine. Incidentally, that engine block is iron painted semi-gloss black from the factory. The head is aluminum painted metallic gold in the valley and sides. Most everything else is natural cast aluminum.

The model-space Jaguar buildup magazines provided tips about adding authentic colours. Shame not everyone will have this information as its easy to do and really improves the look. No engine looks as silver as this one…ever

Ok you’re never gonna see the camshafts why are they part of the build just so we know it’s a complete engine build or something it’s not like it’s a working engine but that would be cool for what we pay for these models 👍👍👍👍👍 also Ag on periodic table is silver so silver colored screws

Ich habe mal nachgeschaut. Der von DeAgo/ModelSpace hat ein festes Dach und ist grün, dieser hier ist rot und ein Cabrio. Ansonsten scheint es die gleiche Konstruktion zu sein. Viel Spaß mit den Rädern.
