Nebraska!! I was recently handed down a 68 mustang that was won on a $1 raffle in 1968. These videos fuel my desire to get it restored. It's gotten me into classic cars more than I could have imagined. Nice barn find!

@joeymlnarik5805 Жыл бұрын
@@thewriter2549 It's a Red 68 Mustang Coupe with a 289 2v & 3 speed manual and a radio delete plate. I've been told they raffled off 2-3 cars and this was the cheaper raffle car. My wife's grandpa got the call that he won, left home to go pick it up. They were so excited to get it home they ended up dropping it off the trailer and bent the rear bumper, the dent is still there.

I often wonder, what happens to these old cars after restoration, when its owner passes on? All the pride of working on it, and being the first one to take it for a drive must be something most of us will never feel. I've loved these old Mustangs as much as the next guy, and had a buddy that's owned many back in the '70's, always fastbacks, and always 4 speeds. Haven't seen him in years, but my bet is he still has a Mustang of some kind! Myself, in my youth where Chevy's, as at 17 I bought my first car, which was a nice running '57 Chev Bel Air, 283 automatic, and I have a ton of memories with that car. After that I had a '67 Chevy II, 327 4 speed, I paid $1,500. for, and wish I had kept of course, knowing what they go for now! In the end though, never having had a fastback Mustang, they still grab my attention faster than any other car, and will see them in car shows only unfortunately. I just hope those that have them, truly realize just how fortunate it is to own one!

The way I see it the 1967 Shelby GT-500 when they were new or fully restored may be the most perfect vehicle ever created.

Not sure but I wouldn’t wanna live on the difference between it and a’63 250 Ferrari GTO. Both gorgeous,

Cobra love at its finest Jerry word of advice has long as you are working on the car try to do whatever one thing every 3 or 4 days so the build won't get stalled out one friend of mine is almost done with the Camaro and I sold another friend to Trans Am about 5 years ago and he hasn't done anything with it it's sitting outside in his yard right now stalled out I told my buddy with the Camaro just every few days to one thing and you could sleep good at night great story I have a 93 Cobra I bought brand new with 93 36,000 MI

Awesome video footage. Retired mechanic, loved the parts being found upstairs. For me it was similar to heading to the junkyard and finding the year and color car I needed parts from. Like hitting the jackpot. Thanks for the adventure!

There is a barn in Sequim, WA that has TWO Shelby GT350s tucked away in it along with more other stuff than most people can even imagine. I was in the barn about 10yrs ago when I sold the owner a pair of Jag XJ6s, one with 350/350 in it. I was amazed at the collection of stuff crammed into that barn.

WOW. Plaza Fiber Glass. That is a shocker, supplying parts to Ford. In the 1970's I worked for Mack Truck Canada. During that time we brought on Plaza Fiberglass as a supplier, to make hoods. My dad had a Chev Vega with rusted out front fenders. I talked to the owners about making a left and right fenders. No Problem. Within a short period of time I was the proud owner of two Plaza Fiberglass fenders, in primer. Brought a can of paint and on the afternoon shift, the fenders were painted. A week later the fenders were on the car. My dad was thrilled.🦊

Saw your AWESOME purchase and reminded me of a '67 Shelby I bought and sold in the late eighties. It was a drag car and was sold to a Mexico customer. I kept the original steering wheel, gas cap and Shelby VIN plate which I still have in the attic. ( I also personally owned a '69 GT 500 which I traded in for a '72 cutlass supreme). Good luck with your project !

Congratulations Jerry, very happy you finally found your dream car. Life is about relationships and car friends are the best. I came home this afternoon and watched this after I coincidentally left a buddy's house who has this exact car only perfectly restored. Best wishes on this journey, looks like you're in good hands.
