🤘⚡🤘 This was the 22nd song of the night. A special request by the club owner for an extra encore. This is the end of a blistering almost 2-hour set. 14-year old Ale is almost collapsing from exhaustion. Yet they still deliver. I believe they have a standing invitation to play the Whiskey whenever they want if they are in LA. That's how big of an impression they made after this show.

I'm not sure why people keep saying it was a request from the club owner. They dedicated the song to Steve, the guy that purchased the private show from their Kickstarter campaign to fund the recording of QOTMS. It was on their set list, so it wasn't a last minute addition. It was planned and rehearsed going in, and it was mind blowing for those of us fortunate enough to attend.

Hi Eric! This was their second appearance at The Whiskey, which they have played 4 times, I believe. This was a show for their Patreon Fans, about a month before I joined, unfortunately for me. They were indeed, 18, 16 and 14 at the time, and had finished a nearly 2 hour set of all originals. They played this as an encore in honor of the organizer of the show being a huge Metallica fan! They were so exhausted, I heard they had to unwind in the green room for half an hour before they could come out and greet the fans. You could see how tired 14yo Ale was in the video. Also, when you are describing Pau, remember she was only 16 and she is barely 5 feet tall and maybe 100lbs soaking wet, and she was playing that HARD and singing after almost 2 hours! And Dany is just plain Wonder Woman! Eric, when they come to Nashville (I think they are doing a festival there this year), you MUST see them to truly appreciate how amazing they are! They are absolutely Gramma's Mashed Potatoes! hahaha
@roywall81699 ай бұрын
Yes indeed, this was a special show. A handful of us were invited to share a meal with the band post show. It wasn’t a very glamorous affair, as the girls were completely spent. As we all were leaving the Rainbow (where we were eating), I took the time to say thank you. Dany’s reply was “I hope you enjoyed the show”……it would have been impossible not to enjoy it! I could not believe how selfless and giving these three were, and still are.

Three young women doing the job of four grown men and Slaying it! This performance was done aa request and was played after they had already played a two hour set and was not a song that was on the setlist, absolutely amazing!
@williamburkholder7699 ай бұрын
Knowing the story behind this five year old performance, I find it amazing enough that they could remember how to play the thing! Yet they killed it at the end of a full two hour set. They just have this tenacious work ethic and an almost obedience to their fans and, in this case, honor to their host. Watching Pau and Dany trade lead vocals on this is a mind warp. Ale's just hanging in there like a trooper, waiting to crash when it's all over, but holding steady as a rock to the beat. They earned their keep that night! No wonder they're selling out shows all over Europe and the UK. This sort of performance set the stage for future performances. Check out *Hell You Call a Dream* LIVE at Pepsi Center CDMX. It's awesome, and on The Warning's next album!

You are bang on about the highlight of the show. Normally melody singing drummers write their drum pattern for a song smartly, by keeping a simpler rhythm for the verses & more complex, demanding parts for transitions, breakdowns & choruses. That way they ensure multi-tasking & breath control don't go out of control. Karen Carpenter, Don Henley, Phil Collins, etc. have done that in the past. But here 🤯 It is a drum pattern written by Lars Ulrich, a non-singing drummer, who can afford to be busy throughout the song. To take that busy drumming into your stride & sing lead vocals so passionately requires multi-tasking ability that is extremely rare. As rare as Paulina Villarreal.

Thanks, Eric - as eloquent as ever. I have to say that even after seeing what they can do now, I was completely blown away by this performance. To be so young, take on this song, and play it live at The Whisky takes some cajones! And then they absolutely knock it out of the park! Insane. Please check out their latest single, just released, called “Automatic Sun” - which is from their new album “Keep Me Fed” due on June 28th. Thanks & keep rockin! 🤘

You really get to see and feel the joy they have for performing, it is conveyed in every show they do. And when others say Dany can't do solo's then I point them to this performance. Dany can shred with the best of them, but she only does what the song needs. And Pau as a singing drummer is the best I have ever seen, I've never seen a drummer sing while beating the hell out of the kit like she does. And Ale, what can I say she is the epitome of perfection and timing, to endure a 2 hour performance at 14 and then end with such a high energy number, she always comes through so well.

I almost feel sorry for reactors to The Warning because they run out of superlatives to describe them. It doesn't just blow my mind that they were teenagers when they were performing this, but that they wrote and composed most of their hit songs when they were teenagers. And we're not talking cheesy pop songs. Songs with deep lyrics and top-notch compositions. The other thing that blows my mind is you can name any rock group that I have idolized my whole life - Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Sabbath - and they all have songs that I don't like. I have not heard one single The Warning song that I don't like. I can say that More is my least favorite, but I still like it. IMHO, they are a generational talent, and they are still very young. I can't imagine what they will be like in 10 more years.

The girls have always had that IT factor, starting with their musicianship and continues with their developing artistry. If you want to see a great live performance of an original song by The Warning, I recommend Free Falling at Liceo (their school) - you'll die laughing at how small Ale is compared to her 3/4 scale bass!! Or if you want to go to The Warning's latest and greatest, pick between Hell You Call A Dream Live or the very latest Automatic Sun -- these 2 really highlight the level that The Warning is at right now - I think even TWA is still a bit stunned!!

I imagined a collab between St. Vincent and The Warning or, at least a guest appearance with TW or just a private jam.
