Two main issues I have are shooting immediately after respawn due to shooting when I died and the other issue is with sniping, for some reason after quickscoping and pressing the shoot button the shot does not register until I’m no longer aiming down sight

Me & My friend who are long time cod fans both have played this game. I'm ADDICTED and he has dropped the game completely and doesn't enjoy playing. For me, I love this game because of how satisfying the gun-play is. The guns feel better than anything I've every experienced in cod, (outside the OG Black Ops trilogy). The movement is SO FUN and Addicting (I like to slide around corners, jump, strafe and I can use every single gun class and compete. The specialists are both fun and kinda free kills at the same time, I enjoy using them and trying to maximize each ones effectiveness but sometimes encountering them checkmates you no matter what you do but overall I enjoy the operators. I feel like no gun is in an unusable state (however the Tac-50 is still too easy to use, I never snipe in any fps and it's my best gun on this game and feels bs) My friend dropped the game because he felt like the netcode was awful (I still die behind corners very regularly), feels the specialists are OP and spammable and hates their passive perks (120 hp phantoms, incendiary rounds, wall hacks, spiderbots), hates the spawns, map designs and the sliding, jumping meta

When u understand how respawns works it helps to stop putting yourself in front of the enemy respawns and insta die xD Netcode is garbage, nothing to say there haha And the sliding jump thing, idk could be just personal preference, but if u have good aim and reaction it's fine, just shoot them, they die anyway. Dedsec class phone ability should have a counter tracker where if you use the phone after getting Intel pinged it instead pings the location of the person who pinged you as a counter. That would also add some more viability to it as well as an interesting counter. And it would make sense like a hacker tracking down the location of someone trying to track them just like in the Watch Dogs games.

For me the main thing that's bothering me right now in Xdefiant is the Intel suit wall hacks ability like you said in the video. I feel like there's no real counter to it I feel completely helpless whenever I get pinged on my screen. You can try hitting them with an EMP but that can be extremely difficult given you don't know exactly where they are and Everyone else on the opposing team can see you as well. you're at such an overwhelming disadvantage in my opinion. Even the Spiderbot while Super irritating to play against I can shoot it, EMP it or play the operator that allows me to hack equipment. I think if for the same amount of time as the constant ping it was a sweep or added a counter It would be far less oppressive to play against.

I feel like there's absolutely zero reason why your teammates should be able to see the wall hacks. That's such a strong ability, it should only help the player using it, but instead when you get pinged by it, like you said, you're a sitting duck.

I hope they rework that spider bot, It's way too OP as of right now, people argue that it's not that hard to kill and that it's not even that good, but the reality is that it's very buggy right now, half of the time even when you do try to shoot it by shooting to the ground, it doesn't work, sometimes you get hit by the animation twice, and even when you manage to kill it you wasted ammo and revealed your position to the enemy, you have less HP so you are an easy target. Plus there are other use case you can use it offensively and defensively, you need to heal and you are scared the enemy is going to jump you hide in a corner and deploy it. You want to get intel on where enemies are drop it and follow it, You want to avoid enemies drop it and avoid it. And in objective game mode in offense if there is more than 3 spiders you literally can't do anything to get the edge, last time I played escort and we were unable to even reach the bloody thing, eitheir we were killed by campers and snipers (which is ok for an obj gamemode) or we would reach the objective and get stunt by a spider and die.

I don't think spiderbot is OP just an unfun mechanic. I don't enjoy dedsec but I played it for the character challenge. It often doesn't do anything useful, or if you do follow it you end up out in the open dying. But when you die to it it never feels like you got outplayed, just cheesed. So I would swap it out just for that reason. Maybe if they made it more skillful in some way to help push past people camping defensive points in escort, which feels like its niche to me.

Yeah, its kind of OP most of the time. On top of being hard to shoot, I find it gives me and my teammates a huge advantage whenever I stick someone with it. Just free kills and assists if you time the ability right.

The main reason why I find spiderbot annoying is because it doesn't require any skill to use and it heavily punishes aggressive and movement players. You flank a lot and push head on often? Enjoy getting spider botted every single time. As for your comment - the most bugged thing is the animation, but hitbox is consistent - always shoot at your feet even if you see no spiderbot, you will destroy it every time. It doesn't really work if you want to help your teammates tho

Other than fixing the bugs, I would make the spiderbot's hitbox bigger, because currently it's frustratingly difficult to shoot before it actually jumps onto you. Another ability that lacks any kind of counterplay is firebomb, it's just a free kill every time and it's especially unfair on Occupy. I also feel like the fuse timer for the sticky grenade is inconsistent sometimes. Regardless, I love the game, and I know it will get even better once they sort everything out, especially in the hands of devs that actually listen to their community and act fast.

If I were in charge of balancing abilities: spider bot should attach to your feet, damaging you (less than it currently does) and slowing you, but not obstructing your vision or your ability to ADS intel should snapshot position instead of following the player. That, or be on a minute cool down. these are my biggest gripes with the game. i think Mag barrier is a little strong but not in need of a nerf, instead I'd like to see the lesser used abilities buffed.

1. Some cases, it is not possible to shoot the spiderbot of your face. It also recharges quite fast and has quite a bit of health. 2. Wallhack ability charges a bit too fast and is too powerful. 3. I still get sniped quite often even though I a shooting at them. I think it should not really happen. 4. Getting ghost hitmarkers and dealing no damage. 5. Dying around corners, but a lot less now. 6. Team balancing is sometimes way off. Doesn't matter if I get 40 kills in a TDM, I'll still lose and this happens quite often. 7. Not enough stuff to unlock. I have most guns gold already and all challenges done. I guess they'll fix that tho. 8. Shotguns are penalized too much after jumping or sliding, since you gotta do that sometimes anyways. AA12 is trash even without that. With that said, I still love the game after 70 hours :D

Thanks for the vid! I will say, as someone who used to love CoD, but stopped playing, I love the airstrafe mechanic. It's an EASILY accessible mechanic for all players to learn that isn't quite like jetpacks (because some will hate that), but adds a little spice to each engagement that discerns this from a strict CoD clone. I love that for now, but we will see! I think for people who understand L-stick aiming, this mechanic is very intuitive as well. It provides a small skill gap that everyone can use!

Just started playing yesterday and I’ve been enjoying myself. I see some balance issues already but it is what it is. I’ll need more time with the game obviously but I think they took the MW2 route and prioritized fun over balance. Still playing and loving this game. Old school COD gamer who quit long ago and I'd agree this definitely has an old school COD feel. I've been primarily playing hotshot, such a fun game mode and a nice twist on "kill confirmed" that we see in COD a lot. My biggest 2 issues with the game are the spiderbot that's so incredibly annoying to deal with and I feel the sniping is still too overpowered. You don't run into as many snipers in hotshot but if I go over to escort or zone control it can get obnoxious. The flinch still seems to not affect enough.

I’m hoping with season 1 they nerf the bunny hopping after the 2nd jump, rework the echelon’s intel suit & sonar goggles, make the spider slower & have 1 hp & louder so you can hear it coming, implement a mercenary playlist for us solo players since the team balance is straight up ass, stop making maps more vertical meaning get rid rid of windows & 2nd floors altogether, and most importantly upgrade the netcode & add in more servers

I think the way to fix the intel suit is to make it only give maybe that one snapshot for the teammates but display them on the minimap to the team, regardless of range, for the duration of the ability. Frankly, I don't find the minimap very useful at the moment since we don't have UAVs, except for knowing where teammates are. And when the time's almost up the dots and highlights should start to flicker off and on. Also, a real problem I personally have with the intel suit highlights has to do with the map's color palettes. When they're behind cover and solid red, that's fine. But when they're in line of sight, the shading often camouflages them more than they would have been without it. (Also, that damn silver Phantom player skin is almost like a permanent Digital Ghillie Suit. What's up with that? If I was gonna buy a skin, it would sure as hell be that one.) All in all, though, I gotta say that the game is pretty good. It sure doesn't feel as rigged as CoD and I've been able to go off in some matches like I haven't been able to in CoD for a very long time. And that's what I would have asked for kind of boils down to.

Largely agree with everything you said, Ace. One other thing I'd add that they need to fix is player collisions. For some reason, player collisions are off for enemies but on for teammates, which just seems backwards. Also, not something I expect they can fix at this point, but: Domination on Mayday is absolutely broken. I've found that it is very easy to defend B if your team is spawning behind the plane (and very difficult to push B if you're spawning on the other side), so whichever team happens to start there almost always wins the match unless you can force a spawn flip

Honestly the intel suit doesn’t bother me in the slightest cuz the game tells me that I’m being seen but the spider bot is so annoying especially when it knows when I’m in a gunfight it attaches itself to me

I just wish I still had the ability to aim slightly after the spiderbot jumps on. Maybe give me a tighter hip fire stread for the trade-off of the visual, audio impairment, and the movement penalty. So that way you still have a chance at defending yourself in close range.

Obviously netcode needs big improvement but I also would like to mantle within reason, I should be able to get to a 2nd story w/o stairs (within reason). Also, I want killstreaks. They don't need to copy them but we need SOMETHING more to work towards while playing.

I'm level 80, I played quite a lot. I play less now than 3-4 weeks since most of my friends stopped playing. They stopped playing because they are NOT Call Of Duty fans. They never play COD, so them playing XDefiant with me for a few weeks was a surprise :)

I feel like you had some good points on some of the issues like netcode and spiderbots. Other issues I find with the game are the firebomb, the grenade hit marker blocking my reticle making shooting harder, and would also like to see grenades on a timer instead of respawning and having one again which causes grenade spam.

I still haven't turned CoD since XD launched and in all seriousness I'll probably never play it again...or st least until they get rid of the eomm/sbmm crap. I'm only 70 hours of playtime in but I have improved so much it'd criminally insane. It took me weeks to finally have positive games and now I almost never have a negative k/d game.. and I only mention k/d because I've become a tdm ONLY player since they introduced it.

It’s better. But I do feel like the faction abilities are not very well-balanced. I would really like to have character specific abilities within the faction. I would also like to see my skins be interchangeable so that I could swap out different parts of my skins for my character so I don’t look just like everybody else on the battlefield.

I like xdefiant, I am having more fun on mw3 though. Sledge has been doing great this year, xdefiant would have been better to launch last year with mw2. Xdefiasnt doesn't have sbmm, but the team balance can be so strict it can basically feel similar or worse to cods eomm. Especially for solo players with good stats. I have a 2kd, 4k skill rating and the team balance can be so punishing. Then you play parties on top of that, and it won't even tell you you're against a party!? Would love to see a mercenary playlist in XD, I'd play it much more with a mode for solo players.

I live in the middle east, & Ubisoft have servers in Bahrain, so my ping in r6s is 50-70ms. But for some unknown reason they didn't utilize these servers in this game, so the ping hovers between 140-270ms & the queue times are absolutely horrendous, i love this game, i just want a chance to fully experience it.

When they said they messed up and were going to fix it in an upcoming patch I took a little break. Now that the weapon xp came back feeling really good and there was a double xp weekend I was playing a lot. Season 1 coming I'm about to play a lot of it then too. The game feels just a little lacking in the rewards and content department and that led to fatigue as well

Agree on the echelon ability, that the wallhacks should only be for the player using the ability and not the whole team. As for the spider bot, the most annoying part is that it sometimes doesn't work to look down and shoot it off. I guess it must be a glitch?

I'm still loving the game. Haven't enjoyed an FPS this much for years. Personally I'm very optimistic for the future. It's so nice to have a CoD-type arcade shooter without having to, y'know... deal with CoD.
