imo this mod is missing the terraria identity, you could just use a 2D engine and it would be the same game, it needs a armor system like, make it related to level progression and class progression, 3 random choices every floor between the 4 vanilla classes for example, also, give 4 base weapons as a choice(also related to the vanilla classes) and a way to use the anvil an craftstation that are randomly in some rooms to upgrade said gear using items as "scrap"(this would tie the roguelike aspect to the terraria identity)

Of course it's missing the terraria feel, it just uses the movement system and such. The whole point is to turn it into a roguelike similar to ror2, and before this mod, you could barely even compare the 2 games. It's not meant to be a content addon for terraria like Calamity, it's a whole system overhaul that you would want to play by itself.

Quite the opposite, in my opinion: the items are mostly the same of Risk of Rain 1/2. And, for now, there's little about Terraria in the mod outside of the of zone designs.

some of the bosses could also be tweaked to be more fair when it comes to dodgeable attacks, but overall its a very fun mod. and yes, theres an item to increase jump height, though the base jump could still be increased a bit as platforms tend to just BARELY be low enough for you to get on without using the stairs which is a bit of an issue, especially for bosses. Overall, very fun mod. Hope to see it improve and get better and more fun!

"Freaking Hollow Knight? That game is terrible." I hope you're baiting, because holy hell, what a shit take... That aside, a few other comments: - I don't know about adding armor. I think it'd take away from the overall experience and lessen the impact that items have on your run. Though maybe armor could be used to create different classes with different effects and attack options (like characters from RoR for example), so who knows? - How can you say you think the escape sequence is unnecessary when a chunk of your content is about a game with an escape sequence- The same game this mod obviously draws inspiration from? I don't get that (Also, thinking of Metroid before RoR2 made me laugh, but I get it). I don't think it would get boring very quickly either given the relative randomness of the room generation, but if you played long enough, I guess the stress factor would wear off. - During the escape sequence, you weren't getting more items to prepare for the final boss. You were getting those because of the gift box item you picked up. Without that, you wouldn't have seen more items on the way out. - You got hard carried by the sniper kit and the spent shell. LMAO That luck was insane!

there's only a couple items that I feel are genuinely too powerful, the most ridiculous i think is called thermite powder (that i've encountered so far that is), which literally just perpetually sets every single enemy on fire. You can simply hide for most of the game.

Not exactly the direction I would've gone in a Terraria roguelike, but I respect the amount of effort and dedication required to make something like this. I feel like for a mod in a game with such a large focus on progression and upgrading your arsenal, classes and more weapon variety should've been one of the main focuses of this mod before release. I think only having 2 weapon options in a game like Terraria is a large missed opportunity that I hope will be changed later on. Additionally, while I think adding new items to the game is cool, I believe it's unnecessary when Terraria already has a large selection of accessories which could easily act as these items with some minor balancing.

After playing a run of this and winning, i just see this mod as a missed oportunity to make the roguelike more terraria-ey. Like imagine if certain rooms had chests in with accessories that you would have to decide "is this better to equip than this" or heart crystals/life fruit placed down randomly on stages. I get that its supposed to be similar to ror2 (most items are exactly the same effects with different images and names) but it would be cool to have a whole playthrough of terraria in a 30-45 minute run. It's still a really cool and impressive mod but I wouldn't be able to see myself replaying it a lot of times just to see what items are resprites of other items in ror2.

I regret going first for my first run I had such a high damage build that my lasso was one shotting stuff after picking up two miniguns (0.4x damage each) I had seventeen instigatingn things, didnt get to test how much they did, because i forgot to get rid od attack plan before fighting the final boss, so it got knocked down bellow 90%, snd my plan of one shotting it after full charging my sword was ruined
