I only recently found your channel. Often heard references to Hurricane Harvey so went back and watched some older posts. Today, hearing how many changes you've made to help prevent similar tragedies happening again, tears came to my eyes especially when you could see the hyper awareness the animals were displaying. I never paid attention to things in gulf till I found y’all 2 yrs ago. Now I hear a storm is coming there and I’m glued to weather! Our prayers are with y’all and the poor folks who already lost everything in Ida. Also if I could take just one animal home with me it would be Dan. He’s always been a favorite. I live in Florida out in the country and I get a lot of rain on my place every summer. I had over 7 inches of rain just this week, which puts my total to 59+ inches since June 1st. My barndominium is built up and I also have a 5 ft. berm on the east side of my property so it doesn’t flood near the house. Also have 10 ft. ditches around 3 sides of my 5 acres. Very important to have your property prepared. Hope you all stay safe. 🤗🙏

I've been watching David Schotthaur's channel (weather related content) since the beginning of hurricane season, and thinking about you all the whole time. Hopefully, this year, you will have Jake and LE's help with moving them if it comes to that. I'm asking God to place a blanket of protection over all of Plum Grove, and to please keep every living creature safe. I had the top of a pine tree break off and come through my roof, 9 years ago. It took me a long time to not worry myself sick every time it rained. It still makes me uneasy when it storms but nothing like it used to. Jami, I live near the San Andreas fault line and before an earthquake my pets would act strangely usually wanting to hid or appear depressed. Animals are so much more intuitive then their humans. My birds in particular would go nuts seconds before an earthquake.

I've been outside when a tornado went through over the house. I was 6 yrs. old at the time. So afraid! Hated storms ever since. I know that fear Jamie, I grew up in Missouri and many times went to the basement, once my cat was still upstairs, the wind was crazy but I cried and my Dad went upstairs to find my cat.. The love of a Father for his daughter is endless.. also my Mom had cancer, she was in Texas and needed me there, my son was 3, the other 9 mos..Dad was with Mom at the hospital called me to go to tub with boys and put pillows on top of us, no basements in Texas.. the tornado hit 3 blocks away.. no one killed but it has put the fear of wind to me, sky green, I worry but you do what you have to do, I know your fear.. Having lived in Mobile, Al. all my life I have seen flooding and high winds. During one storm a tree came through the roof and we were without power for 6 weeks. You don’t ever get used to this or take it lightly. Be safe and know we will be thinking and praying for you all.

I lived on the Mississippi my whole life. Alot of farmers would make like a boat houses. They find old pontoon boats and build a shelter on it. Then tie it off on to something and they would keep their littles on them to keep them safe in the flood. It worked great. Its just a lil idea that may help

During tornado weather I both watch the radar/newscaster & I watch my cats. I also prep everything if it even looks like it'll be close to me. Priority being cats & meds. Including leash n harness & cat carrier. I also watch outside but not like my family used to. They'd just outside & watch for it.

Those horses and donkey's especially since your nerves quicker than the other animals. All animals feed off out energy. Stay calm you guy got this! You have learned a lot and are prepared this time. And I pray you never have to be in a Harvey situation even again. Sending prayers you only get the amount of rain you need and property can handle. Lots of love & prayers from Florida.
