Playing F#maj7#11 and G#maj7#11 is not the only funda. Voicing these chords is more important to add colour. Voicing these in stack of fifths, fourths, drop voicing ,locked hands and also with 11 extensions we can use famous Kenny Barron style of voicing 11ths. There are sever other ways to voice them too. These voicing patterns are important because the more beautifully we voice these chords more jazzy they feel and provides a different dimension to the song.

Khwabon ke parindey (ZNMD) it uses bossa nova style of playing (music style originated in Brazil). Pancham da had introduced that style to Bollywood. Muskaan jhooti (Talaash).. Jazz /swing.. Super arrangement and music by Ram sampath. Khudaya ve (Luck) beautiful track. One of my favourite SS number. It's antra it structured beautifully

Make a video over guitar modes
@rishavbanerjee55654 жыл бұрын
Akash bhai these are all extended chords. And #11 b13 b9 etc are altered extensions that comes from the altered scale which is the 7th mode of the melodic minor scale. This ascending form of the melodic minor scale is used many good jazz compositions. Now u must have heard of the blues scale which comes from the minor pentatonic scale with added #4 or #11 which is the blue note or also commonly the tritone interval. I thinkthe blues scale can also be treated as a minor scale as it is from the minor pentatonic form. Now building a F#maj 7 # 11 is the chord built on F# and I think this is a borrowed note from the C blues scale. This chord gives a jazzy colour and the interval maj7 of F# is F and #11 is C which is diatonic to C minor scale and proceeding it with a Abmaj7#11 which is normally diatonic to C natural minor creates a nice dimensional melody and tension in the riff over which it is played. This extended chords creates more tension in the melody and creates proper senses of resolutions. Also if a song is in a minor key we can borrow chords from all three minor scales ie natural, melodic and harmonic with extensions to give a jazzy colour. I think this is the logic behind these dope sounding chords. 😀😀
