I really enjoyed this type of video and I hope you keep doing them. One small request I would have is to go more in-depth on the situation almost in a season by season base. I guess I’m asking more for a story than a short story😅

I still wear my Kakko jersey when I go to Rangers games. I hope he scores 100 points and makes the Rangers look dumb for trading him for peanuts.

as a Kraken fan from before their first ever game, getting Kakko for that and watching him perform is such an awesome thing to see! the only thing that would be better is if Pettersson moved to Seattle this deadline. been my favourite player since Vaxjo and Timra, watched both him and Kakko over in Europe. special players!

As a ranger fan I agree that the rangers didn’t do everything in their ability to have Kakko succeed in New York but over the last couple seasons he was given 1st line time with zibanejad and kreider as well as time with panarin. He didn’t mesh well with those players and therefore fell back to the 3rd line. I wish him nothing but the best but I think he needed a new scenery no matter what in order to succeed
@milanek15277 күн бұрын
Coaching/development issue? Kakko played well on both the 2nd and 1st line on the kraken. I dont see it being a coincidence that he suddenly clicks with every line.

Good teams ruin prospects
@SJD631NY7 күн бұрын
Rangers have done this since I've been watching (1990). They either destroy a prospect all together ( it's poor drafting mostly if I'm being honest) or they trade a young player away, just to thrive elsewhere. Even when he got top line minutes, he played with stiffs like Kreider and Zibenejad (who has been god awful) and never sniffed the PP. Sadly, he had to go in order to thrive. I'll be pulling for the kid and it'll be bittersweet when he is a pt/gm top line winger
@JayL2437 күн бұрын
While I agree there are obvious problems with the Rangers organization when it comes to development, it's not true that he "never" played top six minutes. Even in his very first NHL game he started in the Top 6 & on PP1, he played himself off of it. He has started every season of his career in the Top 6 and played himself off of it by not producing. Sure they could've been more patient and given him more leash but he did get plenty of looks. He's also on a bit of a PDO bender right now if you look t his analytics, I watched several of his games in Seattle and he still looks much the same.

I should have said consistent time* as his ice time was never more than that of a bottom 6 player with the Rangers

Rangers development sucks wow
@yohamburger-re7wq7 күн бұрын
I personally wouldn't call him a Bust, He just didn't get the minutes or the development he deserved to become a top 6 forward or franchise potential player, 6 Seasons playing third line minutes,improper development and Being benched really diminish the mindset and capabilities of someone who was so highly projected to be, Arguably one could consider this situation to be the exact Sam as the current time Shane Wright situation, Or he wasn't given the proper development and ice allocation he deserved to make mistakes and get comfortable with his skills and in result hasn't produced the way we expected him to do, but I get what your saying he was considered to be a bust and a incorrect investment, I just think that the rangers Should have traded their first round pick to a team that wanted to build and that was ready to give first and second line minutes and roles to young talent instead of keeping him to place him on veteran grinder style third line minutes and cap his development
@TacTixHD7 күн бұрын
I wasn't calling him a bust, but others were for sure. And ya I think Shane Wright Seattle has handled a lot better, slowly but surely giving him more responsibility

Wrong Kakko was given multiple fair chances on the first line with Kreider and Zibanejad after spending his 2nd year in the league with Panarin (and playing so bad Panarin requested not to play with him) Trust me, it’s frustrating, but you have some facts wrong in the video

@@TacTixHD to be honest he didn’t do much to warrant consistent time, but let’s be clear I am not advocating for the Rangers’ development model
