Same in terms of how vivid it was as memory... I remember passing out from a tough, long, day at work but alter enough to follow the game as I took power naps just in time to see the second half and Dennis Green's epic rant!... Everything I knew about the Bears of that year was confirmed that day.

I know we all want to dump on Rex, and he played the worst in the Super Bowl! But that season the bears started I think 8-0, or 7-0 and Grossman was leading the league in passing and was being talked about as front runner for League MVP. Their first loss that season was to Miami and he had a terrible second half of the season. But he threw beautiful deep balls, and threw a ton to Bernard Berrian.

This was an awesome game. As an 8th grader back in '06 living in Elgin, IL I still remember this game!!! I recall the next day in school being shocked to find out the Bears came back and won. Lots of my classmates were talking about it, and even my teachers. After that win, I knew it was going to be a really good year for my team. We are 4-1 in 2020. Any year my Bears do well, I always watch this game. Never gets old. We got a Super Bowl winning QB as our starter in Nick Foles, stellar defense. Our offense needs a lot more talent. I see shades of '06, 2010 when my team did well. If the Bears make it to the Super Bowl in 2020 it's because the defense. Who knows, anything can happen.

Riccardo Brown he did.. he was the one who drafted larry fitzgerald, karlos dansby and darnell dockett all in one draft and not to mention signing kurt warner... his only big mistake was drafting matt leinart.. all of those moves helped built the core of the superbowl team.. if warner could have stayed healthier and recovered from his wrist injury which he struggled with for years even with the rams, the cards would have made the superbowl much earlier and would have had longer sucess, but yes green did help the cards.. he even scouted larry fitzgerald since his days as a ball boy...

I remember that Monday, it was a long work day, and i couldn’t get home fast enough to watch the game from the beginning, so I hit up a pool hall/bar near work to watch the game. I was cursing out Grossman the whole game, and then the defense started scoring. My jaw dropped after the Tillman return fumble. All of a sudden, the Windy City Flyer took off to pay dirt, and I was literally running around the hall high-fiving anyone that would indulge me. Then Rackers missed the kick, and I knew then that team was Super Bowl bound. Such a special team. Only if Grossman was better.

The game that sunk Grossmans career. Coming in he had a 10 td 3 int on the season only having one bad game, including this game he had 13 tds and 17 int for the rest of the season. This isn't the worst game he had in a win. Week 13 he goes 6-19 for 34 yards and 3 int. Bears still won 23-13. Totaling 6 first downs and 107 total yards. If this team had an average qb they win super bowl easily.

I'm a lifelong Bears fan and was living in Arizona when this game occurred. I remember going to work the next day and telling my coworkers how the Bears dominated and just crushed the Cardinals. It was tongue and cheek for me but my coworkers reactions were just priceless and in disbelief at my "interpretation" of the game. LMAO, Perhaps the greatest feeling I ever got from the results of a football game.

R.I.P. Denny Green! One of the all time classic post game press conference game rants! Wow! Mr USC Matt "I totally screwed up my NFL career" Leinart was the starting QB. If only this team had won the SB. This year was really something special to watch, from the excitement every time Hester was back to take a kick, to watching this defense dominate, the Lovie Smith era for Chicago was one of a kind in the NFL

@dallasdrotts212
@dallasdrotts212 8 жыл бұрын
Yea I agree. But the qb position was more or less irrelevant for the bears in that era. They just didnt care. Defense and special teams is what got them to the superbowl, and its what they were relying on to win it all. Who cares how bad your qb is if your getting a pick six and punt returns for tds every game, while holding the opposing team to under ten points.
@DrSanto91
@DrSanto91 8 жыл бұрын
True but it wont work every year, the chiefs of the 90s had great defenses but had terrible offenses by the QB. In 2000 the ravens won it all with a great defense. But the next year it caught up to them with their lack of offense and terrible qb play.
