I know we all want to dump on Rex, and he played the worst in the Super Bowl! But that season the bears started I think 8-0, or 7-0 and Grossman was leading the league in passing and was being talked about as front runner for League MVP. Their first loss that season was to Miami and he had a terrible second half of the season. But he threw beautiful deep balls, and threw a ton to Bernard Berrian.

This was an awesome game. As an 8th grader back in '06 living in Elgin, IL I still remember this game!!! I recall the next day in school being shocked to find out the Bears came back and won. Lots of my classmates were talking about it, and even my teachers. After that win, I knew it was going to be a really good year for my team. We are 4-1 in 2020. Any year my Bears do well, I always watch this game. Never gets old. We got a Super Bowl winning QB as our starter in Nick Foles, stellar defense. Our offense needs a lot more talent. I see shades of '06, 2010 when my team did well. If the Bears make it to the Super Bowl in 2020 it's because the defense. Who knows, anything can happen.

Jedediah Harper Chicago were wrong to fire Lovie Smith. His last season they were 10-6 for christ sake, there wasn't a lot more he could do

I remember watching this with my girlfriend in the town of Addison in Illinois near Chicago. The whole apartment building could hear us we were screaming so loud. That Bears defense this year is going to be ruthless I hope to God there's no problems with starting the season on time cuz this Bears defense is going to be sick.

Here after the bears game yesterday, similar vibes. God I miss the early 2000s haha what a throwback

I was at this game. Craziest regular season sporting event Ive ever attended. I keep this ticket stub to remind me that anything is possible. You can have a trash QB that commits 6 turnovers (should have been more) and still get that W.

I love how after Hester's return they cut to Urlacher saying "We got it now,"

RIP Dennis Green. This guy was a fantastic coach, beloved by all who worked with him, and he experienced one of the most painful losses in NFL history with the Vikings in January of 1999. As a younger guy, I don't have the background some of you may have, but I know a great coach and guy when I see one, and I'm sure Mr. Green will be missed dearly.

It was a great game, but I'm a falcon's fan (home team)! That was a time when football was football, also we had a gr8 team as well

Devin Hester should be in the Hall of Fame. Here because of PMT Lovie Smith interview

Only grossman could get away with SIX turnovers XD

I know right, i remember on nfl films during 2006 even the bears defensive players knew how much of a bum he was always turning the ball over to put them back on the field. And lovie Smith was not taking action in pulling him and kept him.
@dallasdrotts2128 жыл бұрын
Well the Bears have never had many options in the qb position...
@DrSanto918 жыл бұрын
@101937678263594820542 Still as a pats fans at the time, i was thinking what is smith doing, like was he in love with Grossman cause he was sucking all year, and his bad play finally caught up to him in the superbowl
@dallasdrotts2128 жыл бұрын
Yea I agree. But the qb position was more or less irrelevant for the bears in that era. They just didnt care. Defense and special teams is what got them to the superbowl, and its what they were relying on to win it all. Who cares how bad your qb is if your getting a pick six and punt returns for tds every game, while holding the opposing team to under ten points.
@DrSanto918 жыл бұрын
True but it wont work every year, the chiefs of the 90s had great defenses but had terrible offenses by the QB. In 2000 the ravens won it all with a great defense. But the next year it caught up to them with their lack of offense and terrible qb play.

How good were the Bears defense and special teams? They went to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman at QB.
