The main reason Bruce was so adamant about training her, was because of his comment "when people start seeing you as a monster, that never goes away." He wants to make sure she never has to suffer such hate and fear like he did. His life was terrible he got beat down physically and emotionally to the point he was suicidal. In fact, he has attempted suicide on a daily basis for years in the comics. In the MCU he talked about how "I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out." He's just being extra protective. I can understand why Jen is annoyed by the projecting though.

Its well established that the hulk is one of the strongest being in the MCU. From what the show has shown so far, Shehulk is supposed to be of comparable strength levels. As much as he wants to protect her from that label- I think a big part of it is that she could easily cause severe / irreperable damage on a large scale if she cant control her powers. A good example of this was shown earlier in the episode- she nearly killed the dudes that were annoying her earlier in the episode and would have if not stopped by hulk. If anything he didn't fight hard enough for her to stay imo. If she was a normal girl of course it would be extra protective- but shes just been given a power greater than the combination of Americas whole nuclear stockpile.

The differences in the Hulk state aren't from genetics, Bruce's pops was violently abusive man (remember Ang Lee's Hulk movie? Plus the comics for the last 20 or so years). The "Other Guy" was just the result of all that childhood trauma, Jen had (has?) great parents (or at least good ones) so no repressed alternate personality finding an outlet in the transformed state for her. By the way, she was the MC of Orphan Black.

The big difference is Jen doesn't have a shattered psyche like Bruce did. When he became Hulk, his mind created alternates to cope with all his trauma. Jen had a relatively good childhood, so she doesn't have the trauma. Like he said, she doesn't have another person in her head to fight for control. It's just her.

The only thing i hated about this episode is Jen stating that she has better control over her anger cause she does it daily so that she doesn’t get called emotional/difficult. While Bruce has literally been doing that (or trying to at least) for almost 2 decades to avoid getting people killed. She might have better control but the reasons she gave are irrelevant when compared to Bruce’s.

So, She-Hulk initially didn't have many of the problems Bruce did when he transformed. Of course, she did pick some up along the way, but she usually doesn't have Bruce's problems. She's also usually not even close to the hulks levels of strengths.

Bruce's Hulk isn't just a monster, it's an auther ego created before the accident to protect him from all the trauma he had suffered, in Bruce's own words "Hulk is the strongest there is" he means that in like the mental strengh kind of way, he has trauma on top of trauma on top of trauma and that makes the Hulk, his father being just awful, his other's death, him creating the gama tech to generate clean cheap energy for everyone just to see Ross turn that into a bomb, seing his best friend suffer an accident and then saving this friend from the bomb he was forced to create and that same bomb turning him into an unstoppable, uncontrolable monster and being hunted as such a monster for years though the whole world for something outside his control, unable to form conections with other people in fear you will murder them when he switch and most of all living in fear that the beast that lives inside him will consume him one day. He meant to help her because as he said, he wants to help her though this process, she just doesn't have the trauma he has, Bruce is a broken person

And the worst part about this scene is the fact even Jennifer acknowledges Bruce’s trauma and then brushes it aside like it wasn’t a big deal AND then goes on to say how men try to tell her how to do her how to handle her area of expertise while trying to tell Bruce how to handle his area of expertise. If you really listen to her, she just comes off as a hypocrite. But another thing people seemed to not notice or care about, was Jen was full of shit, she doesn’t know how to control her anger and they showed that by her hulking out at the end of the conversation. Then to top it off, the actual truth makes it all far worse. The only reason Jen can control it “better” is because Bruce was exposed to far more gamma radiation than she ever was. The Savage She Hulk run showed us what Jennifer Is like after more exposure and she’s exactly the same as Bruce is with Savage Hulk. Just another case of the writers forcing bullshit on the audience while not knowing or caring for the source material.

But the character was a bit of a Mary Sue in a lot of regards. So it's not clear whether we're supposed to root for her or not, when she "womansplains" why she's 'oh, so much' better than Bruce. I already love Bruce and Jen. Both have their own points of views that make sense. Bruce just doesn't want Jennifer to be a rage monster and hate herself like he hates himself for it. Jennifer doesn't want to hate herself and live like Bruce because that's not what she wants. Jennifer is out of pocket for claiming she can control her anger more than a guy who had to do it in high adrenaline situations while being hunted down by the military 24/7, being seen as nothing but a monster and weapon of mass destruction, while he had to move country to country just to stay off the radar. He literally took classes to control his anger and kept a heart monitor watch to know when he was losing his cool, and that’s not taking into the account the trauma of his abusive father killing his mother which lead to the creation of the hulk’s personality long before the gamma accident. But yeah, catcalling and dealing with incompetent men is much more of a stressful situation I guess🗿 Bruce went through so much that he’s attempted to off himself on multiple occasions but failed due to the hulk.

Tatiana Mansley and Mark Ruffalo's performance are incredible! I'm also satisfied to see Tatiana Mansley again! She's one of my favorite actresses. She was amazing in Orphan Black! I like She-Hulk as a character but the show exactly didn't do her any favors like the origin story for one. The comic origin story for her was much better and more compelling because she was almost murderd and Bruce was desperate to save her. The most annoying aspect of Jennifer is being arrogant and condescending to Bruce when he's trying to teach her on how her abilities work and to control her emotions. The cousin excuse doesn't work for her disrespectful attitude towards him. The show has potential but she needs to improve her attitude as a character.

I mean, hard disagree. Siblings and family give each other a lot of shit, and Bruce was flat out ignoring the facts right in front of his face. That'd annoy anyone. I didn't like one line, which was "I'm doing it better than you your whole life" I mean...that was mad disrespectful of hulks trauma, but everything else played.

@@chrisstephens6022 That wasn't disrespect to his trauma, it was just pointing out that they handled things differently. He suppressed things and didn't manage it for a long time before confronting it and managing it. She's already at the stage where she confronts her feelings and manages it. And as far as I can remember, she didn't say "I'm doing it better than you", it was "I've been doing it longer than you". She is wrong that she'll "Never have to be a Hulk" which was pretty apparent that she was not 100% right at the end though, so even if she is right about being able to manage things better, she's wrong about being able to not take responsibility for her power, so they were both right about something.

She Hulk is not stronger than Hulk, and Smart Hulk isn't as strong as he is as regular Hulk since the angrier he is the more powerful he becomes. She Hulks retaining her control because she got a milder version of the Hulk transformation, she does get stronger when she gets angry but not at the level as OG Hulk, and in the comics she eventually is unable to return back to human form.

There's a reason that Jen has so much control over her transformation and herself as a Hulk. The She-Hulk was the final character that Stan Lee created for Marvel. Stan thought that making a femle character would get angry and lose control to access her powers was an ugly stereotype for women, and he didn't want his last character to an ugly stereotype. So that's the real reason why Jen stays in control. Thanks again Stan.

Trust me guys. Jen makes a good argument, but Bruce is completely right. The only real difference between them is that he's got repressed rage whereas Jen was always sexually repressed and that's why her transformation is different. Also, she's not "better" nor is she stronger. Especially if he ever becomes savage Hulk again.

It seems like she's stronger than him in the show which makes sense since Professor Hulk is one of the weakest versions of the Hulk, if not the weakest version of Hulk. Sane Director Nasty, I'd also be mad if it took me 15 years to control my other self and get food at this stuff and someone was able to do it in a few minutes, hours, days, or months; especially if they're better than me. Also Hulk has enhanced senses including hearing so those claps really hurt him.

Which means it doesn't conjugate like other regular verbs. Which means the past tense and past participle tense of the word "cast",....is......."cast". So your video title should be.... I hate this... all of this. I hate how they introduce She-Hulk, how they've characterised her and how they writting this story. Just to be clear alot of my familiarity with her is more the 90s cartoon than the comics but still this character right here still by itself is awful. Also I hate how they have killed the Hulk and replaced him with this sorry excuse. Both Banner and Hulk were interesting characters in the beginning and Endgame ofscreen ended any potentially interesting stories. Marvel overall is just straight up ass right now, we could have gotten so much better if they cared but they don't anymore.

Its just a fun show. IDK why people cant just be entertained. I don't need to be a woman to enjoy the show. I laughed and I am looking forward to what's next. Overall I think I like the shows better than the movies now. MCU is only going to have flaws because its trying to hit all demographics. Kids - Adults and trying to find a hero for everyone. Either you are ok with that or wait until DC gets its adult themed selves together as they reboot.
