Thank you for sharing your life with us. I’m getting ready to adopt two little ones from foster care. They both have special needs but the one year old boy’s needs are more severe. He may need a walker or a wheelchair, but at the moment he rolls across the floor to get what he wants. His condition can come with seizures, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed he doesn’t get them. Seeing you with Griffin highlights the struggles and joys of a special needs toddler and gives me an insight into what life may be like. You don’t make it seem easy, but you take some of the mystery and unknown out of the picture. You are one of the reasons I’m adopting this little boy. He deserves to be loved by a family as much as Griffin, no matter his disabilities. Thank you for the inspiration.

We also had the "feeling like a failure as parent" feeling today. We all have that feeling from time to time. But you guys are ROCKING IT. One thing I've learned is to just keep loving my kids. No matter how many mistakes I make (and I make a LOT), as long as they know I love them, "every little thing is gonna be alright." Take care.

You guys do such a good job with Griffin. It is great that you’re so dedicated to meeting all his needs, and you handle all those doctor’s appointments so well. He really is doing well with using silverware, too. That is so great to see.

Emily, you're an awesome Mum! I promise you're not a failure as a parent. I wish I'd had a Mum like you when I was small. Unfortunately, I grew up in a very dysfunctional family. I'm so glad Harrison, Wyn, Sawyer, Griffin, Posey & Lindy have you as their Mum.

Laura Podergois Yes!!!! THESE DR.'S were very crucial for Griffin & parents today!! I think they really helped take a load of relief off Emily & Will today. They really needed that to give them a boost!! I really wish they could always have these DR.'s all the time. Think they would feel so much better about Griffin's care!! Griffin did phenomenal today!!!!! GO GRIFFIN!!!!!!!!!

Video worked fine for me. Emily you are not a failure. You and Will do just fine parenting 6 young children. My hats off to you both. You both have a lot to handle and you are doing it. don't feel as if you have failed because the kids are cranky etc. I am 1 of 8 children (we are all grown up now) and there we days we all were at our worst and didn't get along with anyone and nothing was right with the world day. My mom who has been gone for 5 yrs now, would tell us figure it out or you all are going to bed, She would split us up into other rooms to hopefully chill us out.. You have to remember sometimes us kids need some alone time also. Hang in there your are doing fine.

I don't often ask myself the what would it be like questions. But here is one. I'm epileptic and so does my dad. My first seizure was when I was 6, but my dad refused to get me medical care. It wasn't until 4 years ago that my seizures were controlled. I'm 47. What if I had parents like you? Would my life have been easier?

You are an awesome mom! Try not to be so hard on yourself. Also, try a reward chart for bedtime (at least for older 2.) Also try staggering bed time? Put 2 younger down first, then twins, let 2 older have a little “alone” time. I know you all are looking to move. And a bigger house will help with bedtime. Also want to mention that since you are looking in the south, it is blazing hot here from April to about Nov. I don’t like the heat so it’s hard. But I hear you mention how hot it is right now and just want you to realize that where you are the snow may be a “pain” but where we are, the blazing hot summers (humidity, heat index, bad air, bugs) are a pain. This is in GA/SC.
@kathleenhume94564 жыл бұрын
I just wanted to add if I may....We live in Pennsylvania , the snow can be a real pain! The temperatures can get really cold! We don't live very far from where Emilee & Will live so I DO UNDERSTAND their issues with the winters in this "neck of the woods". 😉 My daughter has lived in North Carolina for about 7 years and absolutely hates the summer for the high heat,storms, tornados AND the winters . They do get some snow & ice storms in the winter. She says because NC has to borrow snow removal equipment from Virginia it can also be quite rough in the winter. One other thing I've been hearing is the cases of The Virus #19 is a lot worse in the southern states. I just thought this is worthy information as you decide your move. May God Bless you & keep you safe! 🙏🏻 💕
