Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller have said all 2K needs to do is make a donation to the retired player's association to get a bunch of the older players in the game and 2K just refuses to do it. So what I did was take guys that were already retired from the NBa and went through the classic teams and all of the eras and guys that fit I put em in there on teams that would fit. I’m having fun with it. The auto generated players I put all of the contracts to one year and let them retire. Added some guys to the draft classes coming up and went from there . Took me the first day from release. Let me know if needed I’ll share to anybody .

because every major sports identities (NBA, FIFA, NFL, F1, etc...) only sign exclusive deals with videogame companies and thats it. Only one game with the right of teams and players. I bet if we had a basketball game 100x better than 2k but did not had the rights to NBA teams, people would still buy 2k. This happen like 2 decades ago with soccer/football. Where PES was very competitive and sometimes even better game than EA's FIFA (in the 2000s), but they did not have all the rights of the teams, so they were always less popular than FIFA.

We used to talk about which one was better. I'm talking about PES/FIFA 2004-2010. However, EA decided to be the one to introduce the microtransactions trend in sports games, and everything went to shit IMO since. And ofc, due to the profits, other sports game companies went for it as well later.

Microtransactions were the death sentence for these games. EA showed how much revenue potential it had and every other publisher/developer followed making it the heart of their sports games. This leads to the lack of an incentive to actually change anything meaningful about the games. These games always were absolute cash cows with minor changes but with the introduction of microtransactions it reached an unheard of level. In my opinion it won‘t change soon since it also makes it really difficult for new and different games to enter the market and be able to compete.

So my gm is rushed to the point where nothing matters and there’s like 2 minutes worth of dialogue and cutscenes. Then, so many players are missing from eras to the point where many teams are borderline unplayable which is combined with a bunch of CPU logic and simulation issues. Bad enough but the why makes it even worse. Those are like the only two modes without micro transactions so 2k doesn’t care about them as much since they can’t make money off them. And that’s rlly frustrating. My career and my team get all the attention (arent even fun without spending money) and the game basically forces you towards those modes from the second you boot up the main menu. We’re adding battle passes and kart racing challenges while so many other things are being neglected

That 2014 playoffs where the clips absolutely bullied them out the series was lead by Blake 30 bomb game 2 and then closing out the series in game 7 with back to back clutch buckets. The MyNBA mode could be much better. Here are some fixes I would like to see. Offensive/Defensive settings in the roster creator so we can better customize coaches and their impact on teams. Dynamic attributes and tendencies based on potential and possibly random events. Better trade and FA logic Generated players based on the archetypes featured in the MyPlayer builder so that drafted players don't have weird stats like 99 speed and 65 speed with ball. Most importantly, making sure everything in the game works properly. I hate how many features don't save or they don't impact anything. If your not gonna add features we want, at least spend some time refining the features that already exist or remove them because they don't work.

Not to mention you have to spend an additional 80 dollars for every build you make. You have to pay so much money to have an NBA experience and then 2 years later, you can’t even have it anymore. I think the term “unplayable” is an unfair term. I’m not at all defending 2K, but to say that just because you don’t have all the bench warmers and secondary/tertiary players doesn’t mean you “can’t play it” it’s just not as immersive. I understand the Reddit analyst was using a full rotation as a baseline, but it comes off as data bias, when you go out and try to prove a point, so you skew the checkpoints to have it back up your idea. 2k is not perfect but I think y’all are being extra about this one.

i just wanted to say we appreciate this video. these other youtubers go out and just worry about making a gameplay video. which is detrimental to the game when the only players 2k listens to are the content creators. so the customers need the content creators to be critical and tell the truth. everything about offline play is atrocious. the park and rec players are having a great time. but this is an NBA game too. you can tell nobody before launch even pressed the mynba button. substitutions are still broken throughout the game. i'm a mygm/mynba player but i dont sim, i play every game. so that is completely gamebreaking for me. bench players rarely ever get into the game. 2k support literally responds that "there isnt support for this mode". so not having more content creators address it is disheartening for long time players. so thank you, my brother!!!

The solution was simple to fix the Steph era having too few players was actually really simple, Just wait another year to take the time to get more players, or better yet, actually change the contract 2K has with NBA to make the rules for what players are allowed to appear in are more sensible. They could've chosen a different era with more accurate history, sure there are some retired players like Charles Barkley who choose not to appear in the games, but if it's that bad you can't get any new eras, then they couldve just not added any and ironed out the ones they already had.

The reason that the most recent eras are the most incomplete is due to the fact that these players are technically non-retired free agents… so they have different rules under the cba as far as likeness rights… things like this is why CAP builders were invented… this ideas is great… and has endless potential… however because of the scale… making the rosters anything more than decent is too grand an ideal and I don’t think that means not do it because it won’t be perfect…

My thoughts on the game so far: Gameplay is smoother, graphics are better, and I like how each play moves like their real-life counterpart. I also feel like you can actually make contested layups this year. Things that still bother me: physics are still non-existent, and with the first appearance of actual physics I experienced was NHL 11, I don't understand how it's 14 years later and NBA 2k still has yet to implement any whatsoever. The rotation of animations the game goes into regardless of size, momentum, etc, is frustrating. Also a minor gripe that has bugged me for over a decade is the unrealistic net movement, which again plays into the lack of physics in the game. Haven't played the modes enough to give a take there, however, when it comes to the Eras mode, I agree a phenomenal idea-I'd say their best idea (even if the execution was a bit off)-I've had a ton of fun with it, but I thought the Steph era was a bad idea from the start. You already had the 80s, then the 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s-perfect. The Steph era is literally in the middle of the Lebron era, and I'm sorry, I don't want to go back to the unbeatable superteam era. Personally, I don't think there's even enough time to build a team that can beat GSW before they're on the downturn.

I think what makes it really worse is there's no guy who fits the players they're missing like you couldn't make an 85 ovr athletic point guard named like Bill ceiling or something like you couldn't give us an actual filler player you just threw in a sub 70 guy to fill it out

Rather than try and do an online mycareer they should have it offline then an online version as a dlc or something. Would keep lots of people happy and would bring better videos aswell. They used to have it offline but got greedy
