Like the farmer that lived in my neighbor. You need a carry a auto loader shotgun. And fill it with rocksalt. People who trespassed on his property to steal corn got shot with rock salt. They never came back. Rock salt burns like hell. I know. So carry a auto loader shot gun with rock salt. And when you see a trespasser shoot them. I promise you, they will not come back. Post some No Trespassing signs on your property about 30 apart. Then carry the shotgun on a sling facing down. That way you stop on your bike and pull up the shotgun and fire. If they get hit, well tuff luck. They will be burning for a few days. And if they are stupid enough to call the cops on you shooting them. They trespassed on your posted property. I used to patrol a large tract of land. It was mostly all sand with a few trees. When they showed up to there vehicles, which was connected to a tow truck, they raise hell. Then the cop asked the man, do you pay the property taxes on this property. The guy said no. Then the cop said, then your trespassing on property that does not belong to you. So you are trespassing. So your ATV and your truck will be towed to the property owners lot and he can keep it or use it. But you lost it. You trespassed on private property. The guy was pissed. A brand new ATV, he lost. Drive home in shame, after he paid the tow truck driver to lower his boom. 250.00 dollars. With in one year, nobody drove on his property anymore.

Great to have the electric bike. But you need to keep calm when you see someone then slowly sneak on them before yelling at them. That way you can get a good look at them. I know that the excitement gets you riled up to catch them. They keep leaving their trash in the dumpster they will slip up.

Spend some time in the van at night....with the dark windows, they won't know you're in it and you can surprise them. I know what I would do when I found them on my property, but most people wouldn't be as extreme. They need to drop to their knees every day and be grateful it isn't my property. I'd change the rear rack for something with more attachment points of various types. Something akin to those racks you see in Asia and some European countries for taking things to market. Useful for bushcrafting, shtf, hauling, etc. How do those tires hold up to thorns? We have those nasty goatheads around here. Nice acrobatics in the crick. I'd have made him run even more. I hooked an old set of rotary phone's bells to one of my motion lights and an electric buzzer to another. You should see them jump. lots of scum know when a light comes on like that, it's just motion not a person. Did you even look to see what they were building? Or what are they doing with all that wood? I don't think they are really afraid of you bc if they were they wouldn't be sneaking on your property to throw items in your trash container. At least they aren't trashing your property. We once had some homeless people up in the mountains near our home. We actually had to call the health department bc they were pooping in the stream and coming down onto our property. You should hire someone to catch them or find out who they are and have them arrested. Come fall most homeless men will commit small crimes just so they can get a cot and 3 meals a day for the winter months. Sad.

The bike is a good thing. Nice and quite. What was the person cutting, was it left behind? Keep an eye on it, in case he comes back. The person running means they know they shouldn’t be there. You should call the cops instead of confronting them. Keep an eye on them but don’t confront it call out. When they move, you can move with them and follow them home. If the cops can’t get to you right away, the video and you giving them the address, they can confront them instead of you. It lets them know, that you know who they are, where they live. That would scare me. So hopefully scare them to not come back.

The problem with e-bikes is that people who often lack a certain level of bike skills suddenly have access to terrain that requires more skill than they presently have. A real (human powered) mountain bike is still stealthy, helps keep a person within their range of ability, and as you build your fitness, your skill will gradually increase. Glad you're wearing a helmet. Perhaps consider investing in some decent riding glasses too, especially given the sloppy trail surface. Cheers.
