I find it so hilarious they are trying to force you to buy more packs, yet they didn’t fix the bug where workers will not spawn on community lots. DINE OUT IS 100% UNPLAYABLE BECAUSE OF THIS. The whole point of the pack is to go eat out, yet you can’t even do that because the workers do not spawn, meaning no hosts, no waiters, and no chefs! How are they gonna try to sell people more packs when ones like Dine Out are literally completely unusable??

Wow, that shopping cart item may be the worst thing an update has ever added. It’s so obviously purposefully annoying so you have to click on it constantly. If I wanted more packs, I’d buy more packs. Neither showing me the packs on the home menu nor marking the ones I don’t own with a red point so I’ll have to click on the icon to make it disappear has made me want to buy the packs I just don’t want or need. What makes them think this irritating moving thing in the corner my eyes constantly gravitate to will change that?

Exactly! Also, I don't just want to buy new packs _in general_. I'm not unaware of the fact that DLCs for the Sims 4 that I do not own yet, EXIST. When I want to buy a pack, it'll be a SPECIFIC pack, that I've looked into and think sounds interesting and fitting to my play style, and I will buy THAT. When it's on SALE. And no matter how much you flash that shopping cart at me, EA, it won't make me want to spend money on packs I genuinely don't want, ever. In other words, "No, (character here), I'm NOT going to BATUU!" :P

THIS! I don’t like to make assumptions but I think it’s safe to assume that the vast majority of the Sims community is completely aware of the available DLC. On the Main Menu there is a GREAT page showing all of the DLC and what they offer for those who are curious or in search of more. No Sims player will buy more packs simply because they are reminded the packs exist. It’s just annoying for those who have all the packs already, infuriating for those who have all the packs they want, and, honestly, probably upsetting to those who cannot afford more packs. It’s just in no way a helpful or desirable feature.

If they want to sell packs, maybe they need to make sure they actually work 90+% of the time. Instead of leaving them like they did with Dine Out, where it's still broken and barely functional without a mod to fix it that console players can't use. @@anxious_and_avoidant I don't know, I've seen many people bring up the fact that it is a big accessability concern for people with sensory issues, and if there's one thing I will commend the sims team on, it's that they usually rectify these things if they're pointed out. We'll have to wait and see though how things pan out but I'm optimistic to the fact it'll be either removed or at the very least made to NOT pulsate like it does.

That's honestly where my head was going with it - I think they're "prepping" us for the future. This is speculation, but I bet they're going to have in-game "add-ons" that you'll be charged for - a la Disney Dreamlight Valley or Fortnite. They say that the base game and major DLC will be free (I think from the last Sims stream? Maybe two streams ago), but I bet that won't stop them from doing little in-game purchases. Just a hunch.

The entire franchise has always been about selling DLC. Remember the micro transactions in Sims 3? Pay a dollar for one hair. It's a bit ridiculous. My theory is that Project Renee will be about selling subscriptions to EA Play, for the server access. Like how with Animal Crossing you have to pay for Nintendo live to go to other islands and such. That's the model, pay for the server access. You didn' think they were gonna let you access your Sims game on a desktop and on a phone without a cost?

The "too much fires" is that in some saves, at random, every SINGLE use of the waffle maker or pizza oven starts a fire. Not like "argh it's happened twice in a sims week", which is kinda a lot but still funny, but "it is objectively impossible for me to use these two small appliances I bought home chef hustle for because a fire that can't be put out starts every single time I use it"

in my nsb save i had my pizza oven catch fire 4 times in sequence, as soon as the fire was out it would be back bc the game was not breaking it and it kept making pizza. i had exit without saving and delete the damn pizza oven

The pulsating shop button is genuinely enough to make me never play the sims. I have major issues with repeated flashing or moving animations to the point where I don't think I'll be able to handle it, (p.s I have sensory issues) even just seeing in Simsie's video is making me want to click off. If they don't remove this I may have some sensory issues and just stop playing which will be a masive shame for me. Edit: At least it's not during an event but it's still driving me insane

have you done the thing where you reset their weed state? right click the plant, select gardening state, click weed, then weed-free. it'll clear the weeds for a moment then when they grow back your sim can weed them and they'll be gone. not a permanent fix - it'll still happen again - but at least your sims wont be stuck in a loop constantly weeding.

It's quite simple. I won't be updating the game. I've stopped playing since For Rent came out full of bugs YET AGAIN, and EA does sweet FA to rectify a game players have spent 100's of dollars on. I didn't buy during January sales like I normally do. I'm officially done with this game. Gonna cut my losses, uninstall, and get back valuable space on my hard drive so when any of the other new life sims games gets released, I'll go there.

EA, i WOULD purchase more than the couple of packs i'm owning if most of them weren't perpetually half broken. Simsie's greatest strenght is her ability to play pretend in order to elegantly waltz past all the errors and letdowns while maintaining her storyline but not everyone has got her abilities and I sure know the extent of mine Similarly I always delay game updates by as long as I can (putting the ea app in offline mode) but they only let you get away with this for a limited amount of time before locking you out of your game until you do update as they command. My single mother has two infants and three toddlers and it’s a nightmare, especially since the toddler keeps calling out for the mother to pick them up so they can talk to another member of the family. Tried aging one of the infants up and three times the toddler called out to be picked up in the middle of trying to blow out the candles. So annoying lol

I actually have a worse time with toddlers and the high chair. Two sims taking turns putting the toddler in the high chair and taking him out. They did that basically on a loop, ignoring their own needs and not even going to work, for in game hours until i deleted the chair. Now all my sim houses have a high chair fenced in with a fence only 1 sim has access to. I have also fenced in fridges in some save files especially when simple living is on because sims would start cooking (using up an ingredient i wanted for something else like flour for cake to age up a sim) and then not even finish cooking, meaning i lose the entire set of ingredients for nothing, or they cook something as a single serving when the ingredients could have been for a full serving (ie, 1 fish for single, 4, and 8 servings) meaning i can't feed anyone else with it. For infants, as long as i keep them happy enough long enough, the worst i get is a parent picking them up and placing them somewhere else, then realizing their mistake and putting them back on the playmat or crib before doing the thing they originally intended to do like use the toilet.

they *need* to fixing the weeding bug. my sims ranch hand was stuck weeding dragonfruit for two days straight and he peed himself. my sim saw him pee and he died of embarrassment right in front of them. it’s literally so annoying. my sims can’t weed either. and dragon fruit takes so long to grow, so since they can’t weed, it it all of a sudden “resets” and the whole full grown plant disappears which reduces the quality of the plant so i can’t evolve it. and i did in fact see a full on…anatomically correct.. realistic bald sim on the gallery one day. so that’s always fun. 😍

if you reset the weed state of a plant to "weed-free" it'll regrow the weeds and your sims will be able to weed them again. not a permanent fix, but it'll allow you to keep your garden going.

I've had a similar issue where my sim was trying to weed plants out of the normal planter box, and just wouldn't finish? Like the animation would stop and start over and over and the weeds would never actually get pulled. So annoying.

I work in the game industry and can suppose - developers quite often release slightly different versions of the same game for randomly different players to test, what works better. Probably this is the case with the button - we all may have slightly different versions.

(I play on console, so it was definitely from the game itself) It wasn't there for long, and then I completely forgot about it. I didnt see anything about it on forums and basically erased it from my memory, I guess. I just updated my game and now one of my sims (who is a writer) has all mailbox options taken away from her. So she can no longer publish books. That's a bug where Sims couldn't open the social menu. Someone has found a reason/solution, maybe you can try it? From the EA forums: The problem occurs when the Sim's singing skill has a value greater than 5. To solve it, you need to reduce the skill value to less than 5. I had that issue and found out it was because the "Foodies Unite" neighborhood action plan was in effect in my neighborhood. Since I now make sure to avoid getting that action plan implemented, the problem is completely gone. I don't miss all the cakes at all lol.

This is worse though. In sims 3 there’s a few store items at the top of cas and build/buy tabs and a pop up when you open build mode. But they’re easy to ignore and I genuinely don’t even notice the pop up anymore because I just instinctively close it without thinking. But this you can’t just scroll past or click out of. And it’s moving, constantly. It’s ridiculous.

I’d definitely say this is way worse. I’ve played sims 3 for years and I never payed attention to the shop items that show up in CAS and Build and Buy, and that was before I found out that you could just turn off showing store content. This new update is quite literally shoving packs down your throat with the flashing cart icon, it’s unavoidable without mods. I can say that sims 3 was at least way more accessible when it came to settings.
