That first girl knew you spoke Chinese simply from the way you pronounced a single word. That's impressive.
@George-li1yv Жыл бұрын
And its a place name which is more crazy
@NathanielEugene Жыл бұрын
@@George-li1yv but it is not a place name, it's just "Northeast" the area... I think she can tell because of the pronunciation... It is not a single word in Chinese actually, "Dong" for East and "Bei" for North, and this guy pronounces both word correctly and he knew "Dongbei" is not a single word... You would think it is a single word normally, so you pronounce the word of "bei" little bit lightly which would sound like how the girl speak it for the first time because she is talking in "English" form, however if you emphasis on both and pronounce them kind of separate word, well...
@NathanielEugene Жыл бұрын
just for an example in case no one get it... like if you pronounce "dong bay" and "don't babe"
@6Uncles11 ай бұрын
No, she guessed because he knew what/where dongbei was, not from the pronunciation. She even clarifies later on. He didn't really pronounce it in any chinese way, just in an English pronunciation. The same way he pronounces Chengdu later on in english
@6Uncles11 ай бұрын
@@NathanielEugenemost provinces and place names in China are literally physical locators of the area. Though, it's not in the category of province or city, it's still a popular category for people to refer to it and know what it is in China.

I think there's in the background a very big question, with a lot of suspense and philosophical(ish) implications : When and who Ryan will marry if he choose to marry. Anyway Ryan is doing more than UNESCO for people from all over the World to know each other and meet. Thank you for your Channel, I am very lucky to know it, carry on , this is high quality content.

I think it's your modesty that blows the Chinese away. Most Americans would not understand that is an important aspect of Chinese culture. You actually know subtle things like formal speech, and various accents. It is kind of strange when they say you must be a genius for speaking English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. THEY are speaking English, Mandarin, and Cantonese! Same with all the Indo people speaking English, Indonesian, and their local language. And all the Malays speaking English, Malaysian, Indonesian, and usually Mandarin.
