Mate I had this same issue when I was starting out my import company in Adelaide south Australia back in 2000. So I did something about it only when my local council sent a letter in the post and bear in mind that in Ur case it's a matter of that Ur Neighbours don't want you to do well at all!. So don't worry about it until Ur local council complains to you directly by official letter. ATM you have those cars legally parked on a public roadway and not hurting anyone at all. But if you find a well-priced open private land to rent and park them, then take that as solving Ur problem.

I'm in Norwalk and I know exactly where you've been parking your cars. I know some small time car flippers like to rent space with landscapers. So now that we are in Winter, they "store" a lot of their lawn mowing equipment somewhere. Maybe look at industrial areas in South Norwalk. Look for a strip mall that had a big tenant moved out OR office buildings that are not even 50% occupied. For example, I think the Stop and Shop / Total Wine shopping center by the Merritt had the Bob's Stores moved out last year and maybe the commercial property owner would rent some space in the back? I work near Merritt 7, so buildings are for sure more than half empty with no one going to the office regularly. Speaking about Norwalk, CT cops .. you know what's been irritating to me? All the unlicensed mopeds / scooters / motorcycles you see everywhere and I don't ever see them pulled over.

@@Mendyimports As far as I'm concerned, those are FREE parking spots for anyone - 1st come 1st serve. That's public parking. You are a tax payer. If the city cared so much, they would have installed meters at the spots you have been using. But to be fair, I think it is better you tackle this parking / storage issue now. I would not want to leave your inventory just out on the street like that. Here is another thought --> Check out 129 Glover Avenue in Norwalk. The company I work for ... we used to operate out of there with office + warehouse (we've since moved down the street). That's where an Veterinarian Hospital is. Drive to be back of that building (watch the speed bumps). There is a huge parking lot back there. I'm unsure if anyone took over our lease, but when I was there, I'm pretty sure the landlord rented out space back there for contractors to store their equipment. The key is just to identify who the commercial property owners are and contact the local reps.

Lived a bit in CT and couldn’t wait to leave. Many of the people were complainers. I was basically in Greenwich tho so was with the worst of the worst rich karens. People can never mind their own business unfortunately. Hope you figure it out!

The small guy always gets squeezed. Always hard to run a small business. Are there any unused warehouses in the area where you could rent or share a portion of sales proceeds? Think of it being a pop-up shop for short term leases in unused space. In the meantime park the cars in different cars spaces which are not in one location.

If you're truly in a "move-or-lose "scenario with all the cars, might not be a bad idea to do a few small waffles without cash-out options on the ones you think wouldn't go move as quickly with just for sale signs

We used to do 3% or $250 per car, whichever is larger, for each vehicle sold on someone else's property/lot. Some were at private homes. Others were put in business lots. This was in South Carolina, so no clue about CT. You should put them in tax preparation service lots. Especially places that do income tax return "loans" where they will often dangle stuff in front of clients to convince them to take the instant payout "loan". I hope a good solution pops up.

Hey David, first off I'd like to say, sorry bro. I know how you feel to be harassed while trying to run a small business. From 1999 to 2006 I had my auto dealers license, and dealt with used cars/trucks. I was not an importer, I just dealt in used vehicles. I lived in a triplex with limited parking and was harassed by my neighbor's and the law to move my vehicles. I parked them anywhere and everywhere I could. Eventually though my wife and I bought an older farm house out in the country with acreage and a detached shop for all our needs. You might need to do the same thing, it know it sounds like a new problem but the stress for me was nearly completely gone, and we still have that farm to call home. I hate to say this to you, but you're now marked as an enemy by someone and that sucks. I live in Oregon and am also planning a move very soon to a state that allows Kei cars lol. Good luck sorting David, is it not possible to rent some disused waste land particularly if its a dump it would tidy clean up the area or a small disused farmers field. Think you call them homesteads or is that Australia. $750 a month is ridiculous unless that was for unlimited but 1no. Im sure you can get rid of the kei cars quickly.
