It was a cynical Soviet-era monument. Russians viewed Ukrainians as brothers as long as Russia was always the big brother making the rules.

When I worked for DOD I had to see this huge pic of an orange Cheeto in our hall … EVerydamnday…😭 My friend worked for the IRS and said his picture never made it up there after the Obama one came down … they just left a hook with a bare spot 😂.. Orange Cheeto is the ONLY president BTW that I can remember where his official picture for hanging in all federal and DOD offices had to be re taken 😂. I mean when he first took office it was a really hawkish look he had … it was “ABSOLUTELY ridiculous” looking . There it was him looking like The angry eagle , and the Generals and top SESrs smiling in their individual pics all around him 🙄. So he had the pic retaken , all those taken down, and replaced with one of him smiling … That way , just looked “ridiculous.”

When you go to Moscow please visit the beautiful Kievskaya metro station with its mosaics showing grateful and happy Ukrainians. Well, it is clear now that long time ago Ukrainians changed those expressions of gratitude to the "brotherly" russian people. And even at the moment the mosaics were created, Ukrainians had little to thank Russians for as a famine that killed 3 million Ukrainians took place in the thirties.

Capitalism lets about 14 million people a year die because it isn't profitable to feed them, vaccinate them, or provide them with water free of waterborne diseases. ... I'm from Russia and I was really upset about that fact. Not because Ukranians did that. I'm upset that we've lost a friendship with Ukraine because of Putin and his army. I hate the thing that many Russians support Putin and don't know the truth about violence and murders. I want to back to that times when we were good friends with Ukranian people. I really want war to finish. I really want Ukrainian people to be safe. Shame on everyone who support this war!

So sad yet all they say is true how can one country destroy another how could Putin kill Ukrainians sowing terror and destructions, death mourns the living...the sorrows and grieves that Ukraine is experiencing each day and night is like a terrible nightmare yet they stand together united forever such is the will of a great nation! Better to have ART that inspires all ages not just the past and a painful era. We have the same issues overseas (Native Americans still treated like 'mascots', etc) it's time to move on. Build something beautiful in it's place, check out the sculpture "Dignity" in South Dakota (you have plenty of heroes in Ukraine for inspiration) USA for a more modern idea. Time to 'detox' from the past.
