I'm going to be real on the whole motivational thing. I have severe depression and sometimes you just kind of take motivation where you can get it. I used to get really upset that none of my motivation came from within me But after talking to my doctor about it, she said that honestly there's sometimes that you just kind of gotta take what you can get, or else you end up in even worse places. And I'll admit it. I've been to those worst places, not fun not recommended.

While I agree with you that *sometimes* we need to accept motivation or inspiration from outside of ourselves, it’s extremely dangerous and unhealthy to solely rely on external sources for that kind of thing. I think it’s clear that Jayda wasn’t saying we should never take motivation from others (friends and family should be motivating us to do better ofc) but that we should always try to be our own #1 support system when we’re able to. If you’re relying on a person to motivate you and have no agency of your own, then how upsetting will it be when that person suddenly leaves? Knowing how to care for yourself is vital.

See I get catfish is trying to help. But I feel like they should’ve tried to find out if she was a minor or not. Regardless of what’s going on if markie is 17 and blaire is 22 that’s a big problem. Because why are we helping an adult find a child? That should’ve been an immediate no. Reach out to an older family member to see how old she is and what they can do. Regardless tho, even if blaire is 17/18 then, the timeline would’ve put her at 16/17 when they started talking. BIG NO

The problem is that in a lot of states the age of consent can be young, even younger than 17. So the parents have to be accountable because the law can’t do anything at 16/17. Trust me, there’s times where people got married and started having kids at 15.

They essentially exploited a clearly mentally ill, wayward minor, shamed her and blasted her on television. Not only that, but even in this video there is little attention to the fact that she is a child and she will regret this by the time she is old enough to understand why this is wrong. Not only that- but if an older man allegedly takes a 17 year old girl to the mountains (if the story is even true) Yes, that’s kidnapping. Just because she didn’t go by force doesn’t mean it’s extremely illegal and immoral. Usually i agree with most of what you say but i was rubbed the wrong way on this.

So....this IS just speculation, but I think they intentionally go into the minor issue for legal reasons. Depending on the laws in that state, the show could be partially liable for facilitating inappropriate communication between adult and minor. But maybe because they ended with "just friends" and nothing....that we know of....illegal occurred then they could show it. I think if something illegal had occurred they would have cut filming or will claim they dont know.

Minor or not, it's still not right to act that way at all. It's still weird that blaire was dating a 17 year old but i dont think she is a minor when the show takes on blairs story.
