@@GARAGEIdiotS While watching You do make many creative fabrication parts, pieces, etc. and especially this pair of rear fenders for the MR2/VW/Bug, it 'dawned' on me that You would be very good with fiberglass and carbon-fiber fabrication. have You considered learning, developing and perfecting this set of skills also? It seems having someone in the area there with such skills, work, creativity, focus, desire for perfection would be very valuable and desirable with much work, thus profit too. It seem You would also have much better results and the process with fabricating these desired, custom fender shapes using fiberglass or carbon-fiber. They would also be much lighter too. If You would Just, Imagine what You could achieve with this MR2/VW/Bug, a shell for the Miata, all of Your vehicles and others too. Wouldn't it be Grand ? !! Perhaps if You view the Street Bandito channel, You could view Tim doing some of his projects and getting some ideas, encouragement and perhaps contacting him for assistance, help, advice, guidance and whatever is necessary. Hey big guy hello from Canada!! I love all your projects that you throw all of yourself into to because you prove that if anyone feels inspired they should go for it and see what they can create to. The wide body is coming along so nice and everything you try is experience good or bad it still counts. One thing that would make your forming easier in the future is if you made a wood frame skeleton to shape onto. That way all you do is copy the frame pieces and put it all together in the reverse of the first one. If you are curious I would be happy to send you some examples pics and drawings to show how easy it works. You will be able to make mirrored big or small parts or panels easier and faster with way less frustration. :-) I can't wait to see in the next episode what you have planned. The race days you also featured are a super way for you to take a quick break to recharge your batteries and also show off your friends accomplishments as well. Its a good thing mini-van engines are easy to find. Keep up the awesome content my friend.

One of the best ways to widen a set of VW fenders is to have 2 sets. Cut the flange off of one, and lay it over the other one mounted to the car. Tack it in position, then cut away the remnants underneath. I'd give you a couple sets if we were local!

If you made a dish in the top of a log and beat the metal into the general shape then used the English wheel to smooth it out. Also try using a piece of a car tube on the top wheel to give it more of a crown. See japhands customs for good information videos.

The way you used that tire to form the metal, try one of the rubber balls that Tractor supply sells they have a handle on them so you can mount it in your vise to keep it still. My uncle used something similar and formed a lot of panels for restorations, hammering shit out from a vision instead of using a mold/pattern is time consuming as hell. How many hours did you end up with in those fenders lol?
