Glad to see it's not just me in the comments here! I feel like they definitely changed something about the bracken. They seem to get stuck all the time now and don't properly retreat, which makes them attack you. They also just attack SUPER fast randomly. It's crazy.

brackens haven't been breaking for me personally, but i might just be getting lucky with their pathfinding properly pathfinding, since i see my friends getting unlucky as well

@@SwizzleDrizzl i mean it's probably something that happened while he was changing parts of the map and maybe adjusting monster AI to pathfind them. If there's 1 thing i know about game development is that you can change something in 1 aspect of the game and then a completely different and seemingly separate part of the game breaks for no apparent reason lol

That Bracken sneak @ 5m was insane. If you play frame by frame, you can see him crouching and sneaking past Insym's FOV when he briefly turns left.

Yes, brackens have definitely changed! They are like instant agro when you see them. A bracken on Dine was camping a room and killed 3/4 of us one by one. It was crazy.

Once the bracken enters "fleeing" mode, they'll quickly aggro anyone that blocks their retreat. If another player spots him and he retreats toward you, your only option is to move out of his way or kill him. This also happens if he's fleeing from you and encounters you again while he's still attempting to retreat. The AI treats this as "being cornered". You have a very short amount of time to get out of his way. We always shoot the bracken if we can. He's distracts too much from looting. Shotgun respect is nothing new, but he's been getting better at dodging the shotgun. He'll keep his distance from a loaded shotgun (if the safety is off) and will attack between shots.

I caught a bracken in the corner of my eye and he got instantly angry and broke my neck and then my friends.. :') I also noticed that he does in fact crouch and creep behind you as well

100% something changed about brakens. I used to be able to deal with them fairly easily since they would leave. But recently they never leave and keep camping spots. Which if it camps a spot where you need to go to you get killed 100% of the time. Ive been trying to go for high quota runs with my friends but we often fail because of a braken that just camps and doesnt leave. Especially annoying on any industrial interior since the halways are to narrow to avoid him.

i saw a brackeen for around .2 seconds turned away and jumped off the second floor in mansion interior, got my neck snapped mid air. It also just insta killed me every single map where it existed for one of our runs, straight up ignoring others.

My friends and I play once a week and we noticed Bracken were being unhinged yesterday. I even had to look up the wiki to reference what I needed to do because we felt like we died no matter how we treated the Bracken. Towards the end of our session we all took shotguns and went to vow to take matters into our own hands.

For future 10k runs as well, the 'FireExitFlip' mod might save you from events where mobs camping the Fire Exit. It basically fixes that bug whenever you enter the building through a Fire Exit, your POV is initially looking at the door instead of what's inf front of you.

A game I played the other day I saw his eyes so I knew there was a bracken but I wasnt getting the audio that he recognized me looking at him. He wasnt aggroed onto me(in the big factory room) and just stood crouched in place looking at my friend even as I approached and had visual on it. It chased him not me, killed him and then found out that that was it's favorite room. I casually walked up to it and smacked it to death without it getting mad and was glitched crouching over my friend's body.

Just last night I was playing some Vow with a friend who was only playing for the first time. I go afk for a second to grab my water and have a sip, look back at my screen and I'm staring right at a bracken. It gets pissed off as I'm in the process of looking away and all I hear as me and my friend get to the door is a snap. I was the only one outside after.

I almost never have problems dealing with Brackens when I'm on my own, but as soon as there's more people with me, the Bracken will go sicko mode very quickly. Like the other person just have to glance at him for a split second from across a hallway for it to become angry and go after me (because I'm usually closer), and kill me. Also they do tend to get stuck a lot, mainly on dead ends now. Every time you make the Bracken retreat, he'll go back to the same dead end, and that place basically becomes inaccessible. That is specially annoying if that dead end leads to the fire exit, or if there's lots of loot there. Basically you have to kill the Bracken to get there. Idk if it was like this before and I just never noticed it.

Brackens have been insane the last day or two for me! I've been so confused because I didn't see any patch notes. Sometimes the bracken will have no one looking at it and it just comes out of nowhere already mad and yoinks someone.

We have had both super aggressive brackens and really, really passive ones. My friend never really listens whenever I tell him to not stare at the bracken for too long and he just sat watching it for way longer than he should have been able to. Even running after it... Think he broke them in the update lmao.

I opened a door in a solo game and a braken at the end of the hallway instantly aggro'd on me on a dead end costing me my run. I didn't even think looking at it in a solo could aggro it.

I played with my brother and sister yesterday and within the first like ten minutes, a bracken spawned right in front of me and almost killed me, then in the next five minutes both my brother and sister got their necks snapped. This was on assurance btw

Are you going to try Dine as well? Dine kind off feels like worse Rend with a more annoying fire exit, possible turrets, less nutcrackers and generally more danger while costing more and having barely more loot. I really feel like Dine needs some love

Just a thought, i've only started watching your content for a little while now and i'm not entirely familiar with your older stuff. Have you considered using your vast experience and knowledge of phasmophobia to create a beginners guide/tutorial series? Assuming the people who'll be watching don't know the first thing about the game? Not just playing through the tutorial but also explaining various things like, how to hide, how to hunt, how the various pieces of equipment work and how the different ghosts work and how they behave? Say, some basic stuff and then some advanced stuff? could be a boost to the game! With launch coming up, maybe/maybe not, this year?

Naturally spawned mimics only spawn orange. Player converted ones will have whatever the player was wearing. Insym's crew often go "piss gang" (wear yellow suits) to help distinguish.

Hey, I noticed you're crouching past eyeless dogs, did you know that if you spam crouch while sprinting you can actually silently sprint past them? It's super easy to do, I mapped my mouse button 3 to crouch but you can do it with whatever control scheme is most comfortable

It's an exploit. We have decided not to use it to keep the game more balanced (with this exploit you completely remove dogs from the game which is just stupid). And yes it will most likely be fixed soon.
