To clarify: This call was up for close to an hour and I was there about 20 minutes trying to get the players to perform a proper rewind, but the moment where blue realized their draw wouldn't change, suddenly they decided to concede despite the fact the rewind went in their favor. It looked to me like a player trying to get a rewind specifically to try and get their draw changed which would be a Judge Call abuse penalty.

No context given for why they are about to condede after they had a judge invest time into correctly fixing their game state? If he didn't know the draw would not change, which is perfectly reasonable, and forfeited when he was made aware, his intention was okay and reasonable. I think this is different from doing something illegal and then saying "oh I didn't know" because here you would only penalize his intention to cheat which, probably, wasn't the case.

I think people are getting confused as isn't it the case that if you activate poly for example and realise you can't summon the card you wanted you're still forced to resolve poly and summon something you are able to, though in this case it was still possible to summon the monster they wanted

While I can be satisfied enough with how this call went considering Red's whole thing that he was doing, I do feel like something was off with the whole blue scooping thing and potentially being frozen. Like I can understand how one would think that one wants to alter their draw from scooping there, but that's all they really did. Yeah the call would then seem pointless by that point and assume that there are alterior motives but I don't see why such a punishment should be inflicted for just scooping then. I can also agree a bit on the communication aspect in why blue asked for anything else since all he did was scoop then and most likely never saw doing that as some sort of problem.

A warning is not really a punishment. I'm no judge - in fact I mainly play casually online - but to my understanding a warning is exactly that: a warning. There is no penalty or anything associated with it. It's used more or less exclusively to inform future judges of this player's past behavior. If this was an innocent mistake, then the warning does nothing. If this was malicious however, now there is a record of it and future incidents may warrant an investigation to figure out why it keeps happening.

Because the issue is that Blue could be seen as attempting to use a Judge Call to alter the board state, which is cheating. It's not about the wasted time so much as Blue potentially trying to rule shark into an out. Following that, Coder asked for an explanation, and Blue was evasive when he easily could have said "I realized I couldn't win and before the pause wasn't focusing on the game, so I only thought about it after the rewind." Add to that his actions during the rewind itself (but I get a new draw, right?), there's enough to make it suspicious that Blue was attempting to cheat. If he's caught knowingly cheating it's very much grounds for a freeze. Also, on Blue asking 'anything else?', Coder just told him he was asking for an explanation, and Blue's response was essentially 'yeah and?' It's not a good look for Blue and further adds to the evidence that he was trying to cheat, which could even lend credence to the idea that he purposefully misplayed in order to get what is essentially two card draws, although that would be a stretch to prove. Coder made the right call here, and it has nothing to do with the amount of time either player sat in the game. Red needed to chill out, and Blue was acting in a manner to suggest he was trying to cheat.

I used Duelist Network [DB's orginal name before legal problems] since it came out in late 2010 , but after YGOPro & DevPro came out in late 2011 I never used it again . Not having frequent judges , everything manual , and trying to reason with opponent is not worth wasting so much time when the automatic simulator is fast , neat and no judges needed so no sharking and cheating.

Yeah, the absolute lack of judges makes it complete ass to play. Doesn't help that the judges and admins then just give way too many chances before either banning/freezing someone or banishing them to beginner status. If you can't or refuse to read a card or don't know even the most basic of rules, get down to beginner mode, since those two things are literally the most basic things.

I feel your pain, I have had games (on master duel) where someone took 3K from an Avramax, so they had the brilliant idea to... Do it again. Another time I was playing floo against Ignister. He opened droplet, ghost Ogre, Imperm and some other hand trap. Refused to use them. As you can tell, his hand was clogged. How do I know this? He normal summoned ghost Ogre (his THIRD turn btw, and I did the funny thing with Rasca) I hand ripped for 3. He had all of these, and WOULD NOT use them. Galaxy Brain.

Just to clarify how fusion summoning work, step 1 is active fusion effect, step 2 is pick the fusion monster, step 3 is moving the required materials to the location specified by the fusion effect. TLDR fusion monster is picked before materials.

Blue got off easy because he probably deserved to be banned. He really sat there for a hour and a half waiting for a judge to fix the gamestate just to scoop because the fixed gamestate, which resulted in a nearly identical gamestate from the orginal, was "unwinable." Saying "I just don't want to play" is an explanation in itself. If a judge tells you to explain why you conceded, then you absolutely have to explain why you conceded. If you don't, then the judge can take whatever action they deem appropriate.

So you're saying if I think I am going to lose, I can formulate a misplay in an attempt to change the top of my deck, and if the judge ruling does this I get to change my draw for free, but if the judge rules that my draw doesn't change, I can concede with no downside? What is stopping me from using judge calls to get an advantage if I am losing if I can just concede at any point during the call to end the judge call and move on if I'm not getting what I wanted? If you side with blue here and allow this you are just going to get clowned on as a judge. People will realise that they can just use judge calls to gain an advantage whenever they want. What blue did is suspicious and looks exactly like he is trying to use the judge call as I described above. He should need to explain why he ended the judge call early by conceding.

He is an authority figure in situations like these. Listening to what he says is the entire point of this social interaction. He is always calm and polite until someone shows clear disrespect for his work or position. And even then have I never seen him whip out unjustified punishments against people that annoy him.
