Abbie was so smiley all day ❤️ I’ve heard that cats don’t like either the feeling or the sound of tin foil. You might try lining the edges of the counters/ tables/ places you don’t want her to be.

I used to put tin foil on the back of my nice couch so my kitties wouldn't sleep on it and get hair everywhere. It really works!

What a special treat having the grandparents live nearby (potentially). I have fond memories of my grandmother living just a couple houses down the street from me when I was 3 and 4 years old. I wanted to go over to her house pretty much everyday. My mom would walk me down the end of our driveway while my grandmother would wait at the end of her driveway, and I would walk by myself between them. I thought I was so grown up because I could walk "by myself." I would stay all day until my mom came to practically drag me home. My grandmother died just a month before my 5th birthday. I really miss her.

also definitely don’t use a spray bottle for the kitty! a lot of people do it but unfortunately the cat doesn’t know why you’re spraying it with water and it will just be confused and scared of you. a better way to deter her from jumping on things is to leave something like a paper plate on the edge of the counter, when she jumps up it will fall and startle her. she won’t want to jump up there again. they also sell a device that blows a puff of air at the kitty. it is motion sensored. the idea is to create an automatic reaction to her jumping. spraying her with water yourself after she’s already done the jumping defeats the purpose entirely. i’m not a cat expert but i have owned many cats and just wanted to share this with tou

The spray bottle does not hurt them all my animals were trained by the spray bottle and my animals love me to death. Your idea of the plate is a lot more dangerous of them falling with the plate. The spray bottle is almost like discipline your kids if they see the bottle they don't do it. Because they know they will be sprayed and they don't like it.

You can try to lay down some sticky sided shelf paper with the sticky side up on the counter. Cats hate sticky tape on their paws so that should deter her from jumping on it.

Nooo! Don’t spray her with water! She’ll be freaked out anytime you take a shower, or turn on the sink or anything related to water. It might also cause other behavioral problems in the future. But she is such a sweet baby! My cat gets on the counters because she’s a bad cat and we have a small apartment so her life is already limited to a confined space. I just suggest redirecting anytime she does something that you don’t like. Because if you just put her down, and she gets on their again, it becomes a game. Loved the vlog today! Hope your weekend was phenomenal and that you had a restful Monday. Guess we’ll see tomorrow!

Nala and Abbie on the couch was too precious. I will have to warn you guys though that this holiday season, Nala can and will figure out how to climb your Christmas tree so be careful about the ornaments that you put on your trees this year. When my cat, Raven, was a few years old me and my mom came home and when we walked into our living room he was taking a nap in our Christmas tree. He had some of the branches smushed down so he had himself a little nest right in the front part of our tree and several unbroken ornaments on the floor.

Canned air works to keep cats off things... they hate the sound so if I pointed it at them they ran only needed to actually pull the nozzle once in a while when they would get testy but over all they remember they hate the sound and would jump off or run

Put painter's tape upside down on the counter (so the sticky side is up) to keep the cat off the counter. It is best for cat training if you don't want them on things or touching things because they associate the counter with the sensation. If you do the spray bottle method, it just trains the cat to not go on the counter when you're there (associating the punishment with you, not the counter).

We have had many cats. Ive never had any luck with the water bottle. THINK, what does momma cat do to communicate unwelcome behavior? Hiss! His at her, untill she leaves the counter on her own. And pet her when she does! She isntgetting the communications that is a bad behavior. I have two newborns right now! Something happened to the momma. So we adopted them. They are sooo cute! But I hate when they dont get a chance to learn from their mom.

Another great vlog!!! I tried the spray bottle with my Charlie when he was a puppy.....he started catching the water spray to drink it😕 Everytime we went to skoosh my Geckos tank he'd come over and want me to spray it in his mouth, so wasn't much of a deterrent after the 4th or 5th time lol!! I now use it to help keep his teeth clean by making it like a jet of water instead of a spray, takes a lot of the pedigree marrowbone treat off his teeth .

DONT SPRAY HER WITH A BOTTLE! It doesn't help correct the behavior just makes her hate you and the bottle. Redirect her with appropriate attention like playing or removing her from the counter with an no prompt. Look in to hannah shaws tiny but mighty guide to kitten welfare it's a great book on cats and behavior.
