More money than brains. Absolutely blows my mind that so many guys have nice expensive boats and CANT OPERATE TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. I started with a cheap little 16' I fixed up until my skill exceeded the limits of the boat.then I upgraded and purchased a nice boat

If your boat doesn't sit on the trailer correctly, chances are you had the trailer too deep in the water.

Coming in bow first, securing a line and putting it in reverse while turning to the dock is a good way to dock. I don't know why BG was saying that.

@@jeffrandolf5673 turn the wheel toward the dock and go into reverse and it brings the bow back and pivots the whole boat alongside the dock. Nice and easy.

Why do you just have a framp? We've just concrete we here in Australia have like raised chunks of concrete. That looks like little speed hunts, so we can get grip. And the water sits in the grooves , so we still have attraction to climb up the boat ramp. And all of the people that do drive boats. Do you have to have a boat licence? Because we all have to go through a drive a boat here in australia.

Coworker I knew bought his first boat brand new. So excited. Took it out and he misjudged the speed coming back in and panicked and yelled to his wife Don't let it hit the dock. She panicked and somehow got her whole hand between the boat and the pier. Boat hit her hard she broke all the bones across her hand. I'm not stopping any boat from hitting the pier if its coming in hard. Look at this idiot at 6:07. You can get hurt bad out there.

What drives me absolutely nuts is coming into dock in the wind or current and passengers who don't offer to help. Typically I don't need any help but for fug sake at least offer. People are way too absorbed in their damn phones, like the kid that idled by on the jet ski not even looking up out of his fuggin phone. So now I've developed a new rule on my boat. Unless you're taking a pic or a video, stay the hell off your phone or stay the hell outta my boat! I don't need dead weight buried in a phone. You can stay on the shore if you'd rather disappear into your phone. Unplug, play, see and enjoy the world around you!! Now, what absolutely cracks me up is people who try to use way too inadequate of a vehicle to pull a boat and especially pull one up a steep, slippery boat ramp. I don't understand why people who own a boat own two wheel drive trucks either. Boat ramps can get awfully steep and slippery. I saw some guy absolutely unable to pull his older, heavy 16' fiberglass boat out with his older Honda CRV just last summer. Bad idea bro! Being a nice guy who's certainly needed and received help in the past, I got my boat up the ramp, parked it way out of the way of everyone else, ran over to ask dude if he needed help to which he gladly said yes, unhooked my trailer, unhooked dude's trailer which he barely got back up the boat ramp mind you, unhooked his trailer, hooked his trailer up to my truck and got his boat up the ramp for him. He offered me $20 and I told him to keep it and use it toward buying a more proper rig. We both chuckled, he and his wife thanked me, we shook hands and we went about out days. On my way out I made sure to talk shid to everyone who just stood there recording dude struggling to get his boat out. It really jerks my chain when people just stand there and record someone in obvious distress instead of offering to help. I hope someday they're in need of assistance and people just stand around and record their demise. Not aimed at you bro. You're usually not right there where shid is going down or I'm sure you'd offer to help. At least I'd like to think so.

Boat 1 - So the guy is backing out... What is the woman doing to help? If she's clueless then the skipper is double bad for not telling her what to do. By the way, where's your windshield? Boat 2 - Dude, just make pretend the dock extends out another 20 inches or so. You don't need to be perfect, but you need to not smack the dock. Boat 3 - Pink shirt skipper hits reverse. It would have worked perfectly if the crew tied off the bow. Hard to starboard, light reverse, pulls the stern right over.
