$omebody should be there on busy days charging $20 to pull the trucks. Maybe spray the ramps with some bedliner to improve traction, or power wash the ramps once a week. No doubt they get slimed.

It never ceases to amaze me at the inabilities of people. They don't seem to practice driving with or backing a trailer. They don't seem to practice driving a boat and the seem to think that a boat steers like a car. I see people standing on docks but rarely do they offer any assistance. As far as the trucks and vehicles they tow with, they always assume that if it has a trailer hitch it must work. Anybody can buy a boat, but that doesn't mean they should.

People need to practice using reverse as a way to bring your stern or bow in when docking. It’s rare to be able to go straight forward into a perfect docking.

These people need to learn about the mooring benefits of a midships cleat, get that hitched in tight to the dock first and all your problems are solved.

Technically you dont know what side you'te going to be docking till you arrive so fenders out on both sides is a good idea.

@Rsama60 I knew some a-hole would question that because, after all... this IS social media. And certainly a truck may be 4WD and had the decal removed. Or 2WD and had a decal added. But this is Florida, where boaters and truck owners care about show, not utility or actual performance. Hence, very few actual 4WDs at the ramps - except my F-350 perhaps.

You always question whether trucks have four wheel drive. Well, I am 60 years old and I don’t think I have ever known anyone in my lifetime to buy a pick up truck that didn’t have 4WD. In fact, they would likely have to special order it and end up paying more than getting the standard 4WD!

he may not have lockers, so effectively ( open diffs ) only the two wheels that can spin will get power, they are also only all terrains...

Florida ramps are not designed correctly. I pull a large aluminum ocean boat up a ramp 2 to 3 times as steep and never once needed 4x4 which I have. Plus the ramp is 4 times as long.

I buy a big boat trailer and pickup but I am too cheap to get 4WD so I can get my big boat out with my big 2WD truck! Pathetic!!😊

Don't get it, so many people on the boat, know you're coming back in & don't have lines, fenders ready, makes it hard on everybody, on the boat as well on the ramp, if use that ramp regularly you know it gets slippery especially low tide, bring some sand bags w/you ( for sand ) or those snow blankets, might help, 4x4 manual L, slow steady pull, if you don't know what, or can do, get out of the way, I'm 80, lonesome boater 17' for long time, maybe to many yrs., like my freedom of coming & going when I please, ( fisherman ) if w/someone else ( 1 ) explain how things are done, w/understanding my call, don't, want to deal w/it don't come !

I couldn't take all the commotion that goes on here. So much aimless milling around and clueless dock line cowboys. It's monumental waste of everybody's time to tie to a launch ramp dock when you have other crew aboard. If you're on the ramp more than a couple of minutes, or at the dock more than 30 seconds, you're doing it wrong.

Dude in the Ram is embarrassing.... why buy a truck without 4wd? I get it, it's Florida and not really needed due to weather but it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it, just like this situation
