(Like the word Alcoholic) Also, Envy is when you are jealous of what someone else has, and wish you had it. They are talking to their underground rapper haters, even some that were their friends. And KPOP rapper haters. They had hate coming at them from all angles, for no reason. Sorry, but what does it say that South Korean Rappers are better at English than people that are native to the language. RM and SUGA are genius, literally, and they read and write day and night, writing lyrics, and practicing their craft. They have Bachelor degrees, and can speak Korean, Japanese, and English. They are masters of their craft, and they are not here to play. And J-hope came in on the first verse. They all have their specialty areas, and own rap styles.

the "workaholic" is pretty direct, like you said "addicted to work", but the "shopaholic" latches on the workaholic's meaning, if you consider the second line, "overspending on my pens" and "the studio is my playground, my partners are pens and paper". So like, "I'm addicted to working and writing bars in my studio, even at night time, while you on the contrary are lazy and aren't trying as hard as me (as passionate as me). I work so hard that I spend a lot on pens, so much so that you can call me a shopaholic".

Rap Mon now goes by RM only, I think it means Real Me. One thing about RM is that he is a lyricist and he makes sure people understand the message he wants to bring across to his audience. you should check out his solo album Indigo! Suga (BTS) also known as Agust D (solo projects) is one of the best K-pop rappers in the K-pop industry. His flow is immaculate and just like RM he is a lyricist and a great story teller. You should check out his album D-Day. J-hope he wasn't a rapper initially but he learnt rap from RM and Suga in the dorms and discovered his own style of rapping (Outro: Tear showcases his rapstyle). He is an immaculate dancer and rapper as well. He has solo projects like Hope world, and Jack in the box. You should check them out 💜

We've been waiting for you Max!!! We've been telling you since the beginning about BTS rapline and the Cyphers!😁. Cyphers 3&4 are so good they'll make your chest hurt. When the group debuted, the rapline received a lot of flack from known and established Korean rappers. RM (Rap Monster at that time) and Suga (underground rapper Gloss before BTS) were both well known underground rappers and on a rap interview show other bigger rappers called them out for going mainstream AND selling out into a k-pop boy group no less and said they were weak because now they were singing, dancing and had to wear makeup on stage and stuff. The Cyphers, written by the boys back in the early years of BTS are a clap back to all those rappers that put them down especially one named B Free who had the most vicious things to say about them on that interview which you can find footage of. The Cyphers call out all the rappers at that time, dissecting their rap skills with a scalpel and explaining why they are all sorely lacking in ability to write several bars, deliver them, or ever grow as rappers. By the time we get to Cypher 4, the whole thing is just a flex by the rapline of how big their stages are, the luxury they sit in, and how they've already left the other rappers in the dust and have no intentions of stopping; they will never catch up to them. Because the origin of BTS, it's roots are in hip hop, not pop. BTS started with the rapline. RM and Suga write all the rap lyrics for everything, they were together as the first and only members for the first 3 yrs before the whole group was formed living and writing together for the group in a tiny, dingy little studio apartment paid for by the label and Suga often reminisces on how the ceiling would leak on them while they were trying to work and create and produce songs for the group that hadn't even completely formed yet. Then JHope came soon after, at that time he didn't know how to rap, but JHope is one of the greatest underground freestyle hip hop and popping dancers of all time! And he became the leader of BTS dance line (J-Hope, V, Jimin, and JK) and is one of the groups' main choreographers. Suga and RM taught J-Hope how to write bars and rap and he has his own style and a deep strong melodic voice when he raps. People often say that Hobi (J-Hope) doesn't dance on a rap track, he makes the track dance for him with his flow. It follows him. RM is known for his power, complex lyrics and flow switches. Suga will switch between rap genres, and is known for his viciousness and ridiculous speed. The rapline is known for complex lyrical wordplay. They always teach you something or discuss serious topics such as hate, mental illness struggles, they're own struggles, the ills of society and how to overcome them, the dark sides of celebrity or idol success. and ambition. BUT the Cyphers are simply the coldest, hardest diss tracks I've ever heard, made for one purpose, to solidify BTS rapline as 3 of the most elite top tier rappers on planet Earth period. They put all other rappers in their place. The Cyphers are the beginning for the rapline. Here's a treat for you below, but don't watch it or react to it until after you do Cyphers 3 and 4. You'll see why. Definitely do the lyric videos for those two Cyphers too. You don't want to miss ONE SINGLE BAR. I love that they don't diss rappers' appearances, swag or drip, their girlfriends or how popular they are. Hey so glad you're checking out the Cyphers. The rap line seriously kills it in this series. Just a small note on language - I'd be careful about the way you mimic the language phonetically. There's a fine line between repeating the language to learn it vs. mocking the language as it sounds. And there were a few times in this vid that I was just uncomfortable with the way you did that. I'm not accusing you of anything. I just wanted to kindly correct you so that you won't accidentally offend anyone in the future. Hope you check out the other Cyphers. 3 is my favorite!!

Don't underestimate BTS's rap line, they're legit some of the best in the business and practically the only ones I listen to nowadays. 😉👍 They've studied their craft from the OG rappers until today and they know their stuff. I recommend their song *Hip Hop Lover* where they include all their rap role models. It's a good place to start since it'll give you a great insight into their background and inspirations. These guys are the real deal! Looking forward to Cyphers pt 3 and 4... 😏👍

RM and Suga were in the underground from 13 years old and when they became idols their former colleagues from the underground rap scene turned on them publicly telling them they were not real rappers anymore called them girls because idols wear make up. Welcome to BTS! Not the boyband you thought! Yeah, me too. They kill it and yes, the Cyphers are diss tracks to the underground Korean rappers and former friends who publicly humiliated RM and Suga, after they left the underground for the Idol life. They were told they were sell outs and girls and not doing real rap. It was really hard on them and BTS shot back- showing they had more skill and more to say than the underground scene at the time. It was really painful for them. Listen to BTS Cyphers 1-4 - each time getting progressively better and better. So fun to hear. They have some killer hiphop songs from the rap line and solo projects. Each one: RM, Suga (aka Agust-d) and J-hope. Look up their solo stuff by their name (lots of collabs from Wale, J-Cole, Naz,). But their best stuff is as a group or solo, BTS: Ugh, Ddang, Baepsae, Outro: Tear, Agust-Daechwita, RM- Joke... They will blow your mind. Lol....They're not mumbling words. They're rapping in their language: Korean. The flow, the word play, metaphors & imagery being used too...not just in Korean (their native tongue) but also in combination with English. Right above the English translation is the romanticized part...basically using the alphabet to help with the "pronunciations" of the words they're saying in Korean. Think of phonetics in general...to help us "English" speakers to recognize & understand another language altogether.
