In the UK we have hate crimes in the books that increase a persons sentence if they target someone for being LGB or if it is racially based. The Iskanic child sex slavery gangs in the UK get an average of 1 year per victim but not even counting that the gang members said in court that they targeted the children fir being white trash only fit for filucking and beating. None of them were dine for a racially motivated hate crime. In the UK your talking around a million children gang raped.
@cryptocaesar89722 жыл бұрын
@@doubles7951 The very first disingenuous framing I heard from Destiny is when he falsely repeated back to Mark his position with the Hillary Clinton lizard analogy to which Mark had to continually clarify what he was saying. Ironically Destiny talked to chat here to say he expected more from Mark at the same time he was making a false analogy himself. Destiny said just because a social media site is banning people saying Hillary Clinton is a lizard doesn’t actually mean she is a lizard, which obviously is true but that is entirely irrelevant to what was being said. Mark was saying effectually all these social media are leaning one way in terms of banning on this issue which has a noticeable and traceable effect regardless of what the base starter intention was. Essentially to summarize Mark is just saying this is how it is and what it’s doing, the fact that we can identify what it is and what it’s doing means that when you continually accept and push what it is and what it’s doing then that shows intention even if it wasn’t the original intention. Destiny was trying to reframe it in a conspiratorial frame and in a way where he could debunk it by saying essentially just because it’s hurting indigenous white people doesn’t mean it was the intention to hurt white people, while again Mark is saying that the acknowledgement of what it’s doing now and the direction things are going and the acceptance of that BECOMES the intent. This is not a true or false analogy like the Hillary Clinton lizard. It was disingenuous.

I don’t know why this ‘history education teaches white people to hate themselves’ is even accepted as a premise in the first place; the UK secondary (high school) History education most people receive is very patchy when it comes to empire and slavery, and rarely engages with the material in a critical way. My education on this before uni level boiled down to ‘slavery was bad but we stopped it eventually, and that was good’. This is a pretty common tactic of the UK history curriculum and is actually the opposite of what he’s claiming, which is to paint Britain as the motor of change and repair for bad things it was ultimately responsible for. The only time you’ll engage with these topics in a seriously critical or analytical way is at uni. Furthermore how are we supposed to teach the history of slavery worldwide? This guy assumes that we have infinite time in the classroom to infinitely caveat every single point that’s vaguely critical of the nation. Even if we could do that, it’s kind of missing the point of teaching history - which I think is to create a critically engaged citizenry who can understand the future consequences of current events based off their understanding of the past. Maybe he needs to have a look at the UK curriculum, because he’s completely full of shit on this.

As for the argument about european powers fighting arabic slavery in Africa, it was a mere excuse, you only have to look at my despicable belgian king, Leopold II who used this excuse to conquer a country 60 times larger than its own (Congo) and turned it into a huge labor camp. I normally agree with Destiny on a lot of issues, but he's just wrong about the grooming gang situation in the UK and 10 minutes of actual prep would have shown him that, instead he chooses to google it mid debate and take the first result he see's and starts using that in a counter-argument. The grooming gangs were absolutely mostly non whites, and it was absolutely covered up by the police and government - this is now fact. We now have loads of inquiries investigating why it was allowed to happen and why Islamic males were allowed to get away with it for so long. White people who spoke up about it were shut down and minimalised by the authorities and the press. When you live in a small country like the UK, issues like this are much easier to see because it happens on your doorstep. We have massive swathes of our cities, mainly in England, populated almost entirely by Muslim immigrants and one walk through those neighbourhoods will show you what a hell hole they have become. When it becomes unsafe to walk through parts of your own country then of course people are going to start fighting back against it. This is happening all across the world, I've yet to see one good example of multiculturalism actually working.

Let's think of some reasons why swimming could be such a white dominated sport. It's been more of a country club sport. Sure there is water everywhere to swim in but training happens in pools. Pools which people of color generally weren't allowed in for much of US history. It's also a huge privilege to have a giant hole in the ground filled with water that can't be used to drink wash or cook with so that's why you don't typically see swimming pools in poorer countries. Increase access to swimming pools and proper swim training and you'll see a more diverse sport.
@ogolthorp2 жыл бұрын
And property close to bodies of water is more expensive and generally was barred from black people for a long time. So yeah, basically black people didn’t have any real opportunities to swim, so they had no reason to teach their kids to swim.
@neosav74762 жыл бұрын
Africans have longer limbs compared to their bodies than do Europeans. Longer limbs help with activities such as running and jumping and larger bodies help with swimming and other endurance and strength based activities. Take a look at Olympic swimmers and strongmen, they are all tall white guys with huge broad shoulders and backs. Look at Michael Phelps.
@ogolthorp2 жыл бұрын
@@neosav7476 well by your logic we should be seeing much more black athletes in swimming. But we don’t, because being an athlete at that caliber requires training from a very young age, which is not cheap. Black families are less likely to have the disposable income available for swim lessons for all those years.
@neosav74762 жыл бұрын
@@ogolthorp No I explained black people have short torsos and long limbs which is not ideal for swimming.
@ogolthorp2 жыл бұрын
@@neosav7476 but longer limbs and slimmer frame mean you could generate more leverage with each full stroke, and would create less drag in the water. Look at phelps' wing span compared to his height. The broad shoulders is caused by strength training, but I can promise you they would choose to have thinner frames if they didn't have to sacrifice strength for it. Having shorter limbs and a larger body makes no sense for being advantageous in the water.

Why?

@@FireGod1101 well for example the stat about 90% was originally to say 90% of marks community agreed with mark. THEN destiny knowing that threw out the stat as if mark said it was 90% of the global community. Mark never picked up on that and called destiny slippery because mark could not put his finger on what went wrong. Then when it comes to BLM destiny can define black. When it come to WLM destiny obfuscates what is meant by white. We all know its not a solid line but if he were charitable he would say "ok. You mean white as in 1500 anglo saxon British... Now what?". But he was a dick at even giving his opponent a charitable interpretation of "white man" even after mark gave a definition.. Still like destiny. But he dropped the soup on this one.
@FireGod1101 Жыл бұрын
@on the right I don't know. Mark couldn't extrapolate on a single thought beyond "it's obvious" or "it went over your head." I still think Mark had, perhaps, a coherent point on Israel. Referring to his point on it being an ethnostate. (Which I think is true, in the technical sense.) He's just not eloquent enough to draw a timeline of events that both, make sense logically and are sound enough to describe the interaction. It's too disjointed.
@ontheright2482 Жыл бұрын
@@FireGod1101 true. I dont think mark is a good debater. But can you see how mark tries to be very careful with every point he says? He talks slow and each word is deliberate. He talks like this because he constantly gets misunderstood and misrepresented in debates. Cathy newman comes to mind. I do agree mark could have said things better and I think mark should be sharper at correcting misrepresentations of his argument. However; if a lefty said something which is true in lefty circles only and its self evident in lefty circles then lefties dont really know how to argue it. For example "gender is a spectrum.". Its true but its not self evident and you need to play with definitions. If i was charitable i would understand your definitions and if I was being a dick i would deliberately undermine everything you said while trying to argue that gender is a spectrum. Destiny was definitely doing the latter. The few attempts he made to understand what mark went badly because of destinies own bias. I will have to listen agan to get time stamps but for example the first 30 minutes was just a 2 men swapping words and talking past eachother. Both men being right because neither man addressed the arguments in good faith. This was destiny's fault for being slippery and marks fault for not being a better debater. Calling destiny slippery is not effective unless you can explain why he was slippery. Mark could not explain it because... I.q. maybe? Or lack of experience. But anyway. Neither is perfect. Both deserve criticism. But as a destiny fan I expected more engagement and less stupid obfuscations and strawmans.
@FireGod1101 Жыл бұрын
@on the right Yeah. The first 30 was rough. But you've got to admit that to say "Destiny should do better" is not the best leg to stand on. Mark represents his ideas. Poorly. And the people on the chat STILL believed in his words. Destiny could have been as eloquent as Plato with the bombasticism of Neitszche and those clowns would still side with a hardly literate nationalist. Who, by the way, mischracterized Destiny's argument plenty of times. Should I expect Destiny to do well against anyone, speak perfectly at all times, and critically engage with barely through through arguments while guiding the conversation into some realm of either better understanding or constructive criticism? No. He's just a human. I meet people like Mark alot. I can't remember when but eventually I just started saying, "Screw it, you're right."
