That's a weird take, but i love it as much as every other interpretation/adaption. The beauty of this story really lies deep and is very open at the same time, it's fucking amazing. I actually think they made rhe best ending with rhis one.

What’s wonderful about Bisson’s story is it’s universal (pardon the pun) applicability. A wonderful writer. R.I.P

Interesting remake. The original video imagining had less complex imagery which made it more natural feeling, but I did enjoy this. I wouldn’t mind seeing the same skit done again in another setting. Overall, if it was a fun project. There were a few clever moments that were good additions to Terry’s script as well (and even the original video was a re-envisioning as well).

I just happened upon your awesome version of this classic. I'm working on making yet another one. I'm just curious if you could help me with finding the current copyright holder or perhaps enlighten me about your process, in this regard. Thanks in advance.

Wow. Best version of "They're Made Out of Meat" I've seen thus far. I'd even go so far as to say this is better than the Ben Baily version. Well done.

What am I missing here? Isn’t this supposed to be some alien explorers in a craft discussing the habitants of a planet. Why are the aliens in a meat body, being meat, talking about meat. Definitely not my favorite version.

What’s your favourite version? Is it the original short story? Or is there another adaption that you have seen.

@@philjohn2649 There are so many different versions. I think I like the first one I seen a few years ago where aliens talking are flying through space, no ship or anything, just like looking out a window of a craft and the inhabitants are talking. We don’t see them, but it makes for a better mental visual of some craft flying through our area of space. That’s just my two cents, they’re all pretty cool.

I don’t like this adaptation either, but not because of the people. Trying to capture how two abiotic intelligences would look and act, what their environment would look like- you’ll never do it, not without recreating some of the human experience. Even the view out of a craft’s window implies eyes and legs, speaking and hearing, all the vestiges of meat we come to expect from living things- vestiges these two would find repulsive. Rather than attempting that, this and other adaptations use abstraction. The two of them aren’t actually in that lot or that arcade, and they’re certainly not taking up the meat bodies we see on the screen. What they are really are and are really doing would be so foreign as to hold no meaning to us- but by giving them human bodies, we can get a rough shape of their analogous positions in human society and emotion through their body language. If you want a much better adaptation, look for one set in a diner, probably the first to come up in a KZbin search- and remember, nothing on the screen is really happening at all.

@@Albuderol01010 Just my opinion, but I think having two pieces of meat describe or relay what the space travelers are trying to say doesn’t do the concept justice . If we’re to consider any life forms that are carbon based or silicon based biology, then all of that would be meat. Trying to conceive or visualize possible non-corporeal species or entities having something that can be considered as vision and hearing of some kind shouldn’t be completely dismissed even for non-meat aliens. They may have been meat early in their evolution and through technology evolved by their own design into some kind of synthetic entities or something else. To me not being able to see these entities traveling through space, very possibly in some kind of tin can, or other craft discussing in some manner of communication with one another what they’ve come actors on our planet is more mysterious and intriguing. The fact that we are listening to it as they speak English can just be viewed from our perspective as something being translated for us to be able to comprehend what is being discussed. This is also very interesting because it portrays that biological corporeal creatures are a rarity of intelligence in the universe, more so than other types of intelligent being the norm.
