Remember, that when a masked cyber cab was being tested before the We Robot reveal, they had a boxy shape under the cover. Tesla can make any misleading shape they want under these covers, so don’t misinterpret the shape as something completely new.

God I hope you are right about the “box” Sam. I am not a fan of sedans due to the lack of interior room, especially after owning a mini van & 7 seat Highlander SUV & loving the feeling of freedom the extra space provides, as well as the utility of having that large enclosed hatchback for hauling furniture and other large items.

My thought is that with their new “modular” manufacturing system, Tesla will soon be able start manufacturing as many different models in different shapes and form factors as they like (or believe customers would like to buy). I live in southern Sweden, where it seems like every other car here is a Volvo wagon (e.g. Volvo V50, V60, V70 and V90 models) with a lot of wagons from other manufacturers as well, such as Volkswagen, Toyota, Kia, BMW, Mercedes and now even some of the Chinese brands. My point is that people here LOVE wagons. So although I currently drive a Model X here, it’s a really big car. So it Tesla were to start selling a wagon here, I would seriously consider getting one.

Small point, but living nearby I need to mention that the City of Fremont only has one E. I think that the low slung model is the new Tesla Roadster, which would be great news! I think that the world already has enough giant vans, SUVs and pickups, but if Tesla makes a decent one (at Model Y pricing) they will sell a ton of them.

Tesla is coming out with a cheaper version of both the model 3 and Y that can be built on the existing lines. Elon has told us as much. These will be Commuter/Work vehicles with a hatch back and only 2 seats in the front and tons of cargo for camping and small business needs in the back. Range limited to 200 mi.

Yes, the Zeekr 007 is quite an Xpeng Motors vehicle, very well built, but perhaps less durable... They now benefits of lot of Xpeng Motors improvements, even Huawei autoomous driving system is improved with what was very well realized by Xpeng XNGP. Nice design, good equipments, but worse than the Xpeng P7+ which is much bigger and much better... Chinese automakers should collaborate better, all doing certified Xpeng Motors quality labeled products...

Of only, in this case Tesla is finished except if users resold their car and buy the new model, to spare more, but not benefit enough... The opponency is much better for comfort, and for inside space, Tesla has to lie about the inside trunk space by counting the complete spare up to the roof, which is unuseable and illicit to use. The luggages cannot be above the back seats, even if in real life many do not respect this rule well...

Also I immediately thought about a possible X-successor, which would make perfect sense: The X has been in the market for quite a while and had its niche as a high-end family SUV. Now the Y fills this niche quite nicely and consequently the X sales dropped. Why should anyone pay 100 k€ for an X which is a similar looking car than the model Y being priced around 50k? Just for falcon doors and a bit of extra space? Forget the Plaid for a moment… So if Tesla wants to keep this market segment, a new X has to be positioned clearly upmarket of the Y and it must also be clearly distinguishable from a Y. Optimised in the wind tunnel, the overall car body can’t be drastically altered. Only the rear end leaves some room! Now if you look closely at the video, you’ll spot “Kamm”-style rear ends like on the Cybertruck or the Robotaxi! They are known for the aerodynamic efficiency and thus they would fit perfectly into Tesla’s new design language. I could be wrong, but somehow it makes sense to me.
