This entire quest recontextualizes what we knew about the Sky Frost / Celestial Nails, the Primordial One, the Heavenly Principles, and the Seven Dragon Sovereigns! wait really? I get it that it gives me a lot of emotions, but logically some plots doesn't make sense to me... like why nahida uses the fragile thingie even though the older fungi told her not to? like why would nahida even think about sacrificing herself even though she is still taking care of the "prisoner" wanderer? like does she not think about the consequences that if she died, what would happen to the rest of sumeru? In addion, don't you think it's weird that they just got into the underground chasm without even reporting to the Qixing in liyue first lol... Can't believe the dendro archon just trespass the other country's territory so freely lol

Bruh like the whole implication of nahidas freak out is that if apep was untreated then literally the whole of sumeru will suffer because of the amassed amount of elemental energy apep had. And her using the fire seed wrecklessly was the whole point of sacrificing in the first place. She was taking accountability for her actions for trying to save everyone so bad that the seed shattered. And the "prisoner" that was already solved on the interlude quest In sumeru and is already on their side, so I don't know why that's a problem. What will happen to sumeru? Like she said to paimon she wasn't actually gonna die, but was gonna transform into a twig and can still via the forest but that's besides the point because she wasn't even able to go through with it anyway because someone else was already gonna sacrifice for their homeland. That's why the anemo fungus said to nahida "don't be sad" and that they were going home and she should go home too. So yeah don't really know why any of the things you've said "don't make sense" lol

The quest started with a bird leaving the nest, the quest started with the bird staying in the nest. Also, Nahida found a mother figure in Rukkhadevata... Nahida forgets her to save sumeru. Nahida found friends... they forget Nahida to save sumeru.

The Apep reveal was damn epic.

I noticed so many things in this quest. First, those elemental beings already existed before any records, meaning Irminsul, which can explain why Nahida didn't know about them. The ground mushroom elemental being remembers who Rukkhadevata is, which means that even if they are native to Teyvat, other beings, so long as they are older than the records (Irminsul), remember who Rukkhadevata is as well. By extension, they have the ability to remember anything they already knew that gets erased from Irminsul. I'm not sure if this is lore I've missed, but from what the blue mushroom said at the beginning (that they existed before any records were made), perhaps Irminsul was also established by the Heavenly Principles? However, that would be contradictory to Azdaha's need for the Ley Lines to sustain him, despite him being a dragon. Second, Nahida has the power to break through the limitations of time, but somehow it would've taken far more power than that to save Apep. It gives us an idea of how powerful the dragons really are. It struck me as odd that she was able to break through so easily tbh. Third, I noticed that "growth" was a common topic here. I believe this is another important term to look out for, because interestingly enough, I believe there is a parallel with Raiden's second story quest. In that quest, the Shogun says "I guess this is what humans call "growth"." For some reason I don't believe this to be a coincidence. I loved this quest. It presented us with a lot of new information. I'm hoping they'll keep this up in Fontaine; the quests have only been getting better and better.

since the voices is the memories of the Fungi, the redacted voice when you fight Apep domain guardian is Rukkhadevata's voice back when she make promise with the Geo fungi that we found in the Chasm, that's why it's redacted (you know, because erasing memory from irminsul and stuffs).

I just realized something. The Apep we've seen is big. But I believe Apep is bigger than that. In her dialogue she said that while she was looking for forbidden knowledge, she was nailed (by the Skyfrost Nail for sure) and where she was nailed sprung the sand dunes of Sumeru, and on it King Deshret's kingdom flourished. WHICH MEANS THE SIZE OF APEP IS THE WHOLE DESERT PART OF SUMERU ITSELF!

With the obvious "TIME" references I feel like they could easily be setting up Paimon's origins. If it is what we theorize, it could explain why Paimon was getting so upset over a being forgetting their past and being reborn. They also claim that energy and time are linked and using energy can weaken you and return you to a previous form. Maybe Isatroth lost all of the memories they had expending all their energy for a great purpose and regressed/were reborn as the being we know as Paimon Some really interesting parallels if you watch all of her dialogue in this quest through that lense

Honestly I really expect paimon to be important but this quest feels like it ties into paimon having abandonment issues. She doesnt want the elemental being to forget/ be forgotten disappear and also the traveler isnt teleported with her and nahida and she vents to nahida about hating being apart from them. I'm positive paimon will be the final boss but not an evil sense but more so "I dont want you to leave me behind for other worlds what if you forget me"

That's an interesting point The thing that came to mind after reading your comment is the main theory about Focalors possibly being from Celestia and "cast out" yet still yearns to return there If Focalors' story does end up being centered around being abandoned by her home I do wonder if they'd reveal a bit more that aspect of Paimon as well as a tie-in

Maybe just throwing theories around but the more I play the more I think Celestia isn't even the enemy. Every place that has been _nailed_ by Celestia has remnants of forbidden knowledge poisoning its area: the withering, oozing filth.. it's all forbidden knowledge. I feel like it's Celestia vs the Abyss and teyvat is just caught in between. Khaenri'ah might've discovered Khemia and played too much with its power not knowing it's connection to the Abyss, which later caused the cataclysm and releasing the creatures of the Abyss; the aftermath being Celestia sending the archons there to fight the war for them. Maybe it wasn't Celestia who turned people into hilichurls and immortals, and maybe some Khaenri'ahns sided with the Abyss forming the Abyss order and some, like Dain don't, because he believes the Gods aren't responsible.

YESS I JUST FINISHED THIS QUEST TODAY AND I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS YOUR VOD UPLOAD COULDNT HAVE COME AT A BETTER TIME but seriously though i struggle a lot with connecting the dots for lore like i have done 100 percent of the dessert but still can't figure out dessert lore because all of it is written in obelisks and stone tablets and i am lost as to in what order i should read them in lol anyways your gameplay and commentary is very helpful to me

@@Minsleif also you should definetly complete the dirage of bilqis quest and aranara quest if you have the time both of them reveal a lot about the lore and i can assure you will be left in tears by the end of dirage of biliqis, i mean i was lol and liloupar reveals a lot about the dessert, the city of gurabad, king deshret and the goddess of flowers and you also get to see whats inside that tornado (its a very beautiful place) also i noticed how the sky frost nails also shoots up tiny constilations like paimon lol

First time Rukhadevvata shrunk was when King Deshret discovered the Apocalypse and she stopped the spread. Second she shrunk was when she was creating a Fire Seed together with Dendro Elementals, Third was when she plucked the purest branch to create a copy of herself later known as Nahida. Nahida was tasked to erase her from existence and use the Fire Seed to save Apep.

bruh, so celestia is actually on our side? like apep said that they care so much about the life they created (humans, archons, allogenes) and they are so dedicated to keeping it theirs. LIke they will literally drop nails on teyvat just to quell and stop the spread of the abyss/forbidden knowledge. All because they love their little teyvat. Its kind of a love hate relationship though, they gave everyone life but they are also keeping vital history of the world as a secret. This game continues to amaze me.

because they **stream** it? They talk to chat, take breaks, pause to think about things if they care about lore. They take time to explain things to US who aren't even there, we usually only see things on their YT channel. They do many things you don't even do or think about doing. The point of these is to take a ride with their fans and enjoy everything together. If you can finish quests quickly, good on you, but you're not a streamer let alone a LORE one. Meaning she has to take even more time to verbalize her questions and theories, etc.
