It was really interesting seeing the consequences of everything that happened on Inazuma after the abolishing of the vision hunt decree and how the commission interact with each other!! And they did it with an easy example like a wedding! I'm not a fan of politics, but it's enjoyable the way they portrayed it! And Ayato being so savage~ ufff

This is my favorite quest too. But, particularly, in version 2.6 English translation is super good. I played in English in game and after that watched some part of this quest on video in Japanese (I'm Japanese), and Japanese version is not as good as English.

The Ayato quest felt more of a detective-esque way of solving the problems and I liked it, because the player wonders what and who did it for such reasons. And Yae is such a lovable troll.

@@surfersunknown not the same kind of politics though. american comics these days have a bad habit of pushing agendas and commenting on real life politics. the kind of politics in ayato's story quest are a far cry from real world politics and there's no hidden agenda being pushed. anime and manga does politics well too, just look at some of the top shounens right now. aot, jjk, mha, etc. all delve into a different kinds of political intrigue. it's different because the politics are there for the sake of the story, not for the sake of the audience.

@@surfersunknown Manga/manhwa is heavily politicized, you just don't see it because it's a different culture than what you're used to. As someone from the country of origin, I can give you some examples. In general, you will rarely ever see a character like Wonder Woman in manga/manhwa, the role of the female in China/Japan is to be submissive and supportive to the male character. As in manhwa, they can't write or storyboard certain ideas that could risk confrontation with the government. I'm sure you heard the issues with Venti, the new character outfits, and such drama between Genshin and China's goverment. There's also been a rise of stories that push for dating and/or family, you can definitely tell compared to the stories back in the early 2000s, which isn't surprising considering the dating dilemma in both countries today. Ayato was also highly rated and liked in both China and Japan, and we've seen these opinions quite differ from Western tastes. Like I said, it's not easily seen for someone from a different culture, but politics do play a part by shaping the industry's standards and boundaries.

We see guests out of the door as they leave to show appreciation for their time to visit us. My family won't leave the door/entrance until guests are out of sight when they are leaving.

I just love how hoyoverse was not scared this time to take a risk and actually show us a well written quest for a strategic, cunning and smart character. I love deciphering double-layered words. And during the confrontation with Matsuura, I love how they look-like they talking empty words and yet they literally trying to reveal each other's motives through it. The dialogues were not wasted and you really gonna think what will they do next, what they meant with their words. It's like playing chess. My favorite part was the bird analogy. If you all noticed the Kanjou commission seems like have this 2 birds logo. And the bird analogy being Ayato's way of threatening them was such a genius move. At the end he also literally made the 2 commissions owe him a favor and didn't let the traveler do a thing for him aside from watching him work so the traveler can't really say to him, "we did help you a lot so you owe us." He gain the most in this quest without loosing any. This is just as simple as this. For people who like political drama and mind games, this is one of the best-written story quests. But if you don't like those, this quest is boring.

Immediately after Ayato's meeting with Kujou, my head was spinning with all the possible conspiracies that could be possible. And I keep getting the vibe that he was also plotting something behind the traveler(our!) back, I guess mostly because of the voice and tone. It was like following a well-written drama with multiple layers of intrigue.

I personally love that there's a lull in combat with story quests. With Ayato, it makes sense for there not to have a lot of combat. Ayato is first and foremost the Yashiro Commission, a businessman and politician, who must uphold his status and staying his blade if possible. What better way than to manipulate your rivals into thinking they have the upper hand? He isn't some seasoned warrior who solves everything with his sword. He knows his way with words

Ayato manipulated them without actually directly blocking the wedding. He basically played the situation to get the most beneficial result. PLUS THAT GIST ON THE END. HOW HE STRUGGLED TO REMAIN ON TOP EVEN IF IT MEANS HE HAVE TO PRETEND AND ENDURE GETTING MANIPULATED just so he could slowly gain stability on his position and protect his sister and the people who believes in him. What part of that was boring? A part II is what I need. I don't care if it's dialogue heavy again or if it's a flashback type of a quest. I want it to dig deeper into Ayato now and the young struggling Ayato.

I don't think it's boring. It is one of a kind story quest because of who Ayato is. I'm glad Mihoyo depict Ayato as the head clan with authority and show us how he deal with situations. And what I find it amusing and likeable is, it is Ayato who does the most work, not us (EFFING FINALLY) We just there to watch, while Ayato do the talking and negotiating part. Also, I love how it show that we not only made friend like Ayaka where we straight up feel like dating, we have friend like Ayato who we can rely on. Seriously, how can you not like this cunning, scheming, sly, clever man when he is on your side. And yeah, I don't like politics, but really, Ayato's story quest just refreshing in its own way that it make it sooo interesting.

People who didnt care about this story quest dont care about the lore of Inazuma. As ""boring"" as this quest was, I enjoyed seeing how the three commissions really value their power balance, and how they also treat the women of Inazuma. I hope Chisato will pave a way for future brides to not dependent on their husbands and still be able to manage over the Kanjou Commission without needing to have to leave it just because she got married. Also it's nice to see Shinnojou get over his feelings for Chisato, and see what makes Chisato and Kamaji a good pair together. And lastly, Ayato handling this whole quest really shows his type of character without needing to shove it in our faces. Just overall, a nice chill story quest that doesnt get too overbearing.

Some story quests follow the same pattern, follow the story to fight in a domain and then get a pretty cutscene at the end. This time it's more story and since we've never met Ayato before, it makes sense why it's like this. I'm not saying the other quests are bad because they are pretty predictable, but doing something a little differently is nice and refreshing. I enjoyed this quest and I hope there's more story quests like these in the future.

as good as it is, i found it a bit boring because of 3 key points. 1- ayato didnt get enough fighting, no domain part like 95% of other characters quests which are always so fun. 2- the ending didnt feel like a proper conclusion, there wasnt any cool cutscene and we never saw shinoojo again during the quest, despite his good effort, ofc this isn’t necessary but it wouldve helped. like in zhongli’s first quest where we got a wholesome short cutscene of him looking at the distance with the traveller 3- the quest was too long, but was made like a game. i loved the quest itself but it was such a chore, too much walking, clicking, etc. and no thinking / fighting / consequences. basically its a show, where you cant chan he the outcome by any mean, or even the method itself. but you still need to move and click which ruins the immersion, specially the traveller lines which are completely unnecessary and doesnt add anything to the dialogue. its like watch a youtube video but every few seconds you have to unpause it or the video crashes and you need to open it again. other than that its great

there's a possibility why it might be the case -Hoyoverse might not have enough time -They might've prepared to have act 2 to continue act 1 (I wanna see that goes like: in act 1 "Ayato is smart, he's very capable in his position" and his act 2 is like-- a villain outsmart Ayato and his confidence is starting to fall apart, idk I would love to see that then the traveler and Paimon would help him and become such a big part) -It shows the traveler of Ayato's role, somethin just ordinary and not much excitement. The traveler is pretty much us after all. I feel like Hoyoverse is telling us: "yeah, we know everyone like him, now watch how his work is lmao" and would be use in my previous uh note? point? whatever, the 2nd one that I said, ya. Similar how Raiden's story quests -Inazuma has been starting to become a lot peaceful and there's no extreme big conflict -Hoyoverse is probab very experimental with its story since the fatui had been quiet, the Kanjou and Tenryou have been reach rock bottom, any supernatural doesnt rlly have anything to do with the Yashiro commission or the Kamisato Clan or the commissioner himself, I guess it was suppose to be like this its just my guess but that might be the case, but that doesnt mean those reason is why I like it, I genuinely really like it sorry if its a bit messy I didnt find it boring tbh, so I dont how it feels to be bored(waiting for my my mom and sister when shopping is much worst and so boring so I probab got used to it and didnt notice that the quest is boring XD) and didnt think much about it. I still disagree with the "manipulation by the Fatui" thing. The Fatui didn't do anything to prove they were the anonymous sponsor, and even when the soldiers were confronted with the reality of the weapon they were using, they still wanted to use it anyway. They needed the supplies, and they were given with no strings attached. The only reason they were truly significant to the plot is to highlight how the Fatui wanted to ensure the Resistance could continue to fight so that the conflict would continue perpetually. Without supplies, the Resistance would've folded. Even a great General can lose due to having their supply lines cut off, and that's not really their own fault. I will agree that they didn't do much to highlight her ability to lead. I think a quest showing her need to recharge is a solid idea but it doesn't look great when they've already under supported why she's overworked in the first place. That said, I think the conclusion of her quest does at least highlight her ability to take a tense situation and turn it to her advantage in an instant.

Qiqi at the harbor during the Interlude Archon Quest for the "Divine Damsel" (trying to be as spoiler-free as possible), Venti's vision in that same quest, and different Scaramouche lines when meeting him depending on when you first met him.. Personally, this is evidence to me that at least some people in the development team are passionate about their work, that is beyond just money. They honestly could have not included these details and very few people would notice.

My brother purposely didn't complete the story quests to Quick Start the newest event, but the start of the story event just chugs alone as if they have already been completed So I think they're only going to do those multiple cutscenes for only story quests and archon quests (Yes I managed to avoid giving spoilers!)

This is one of my favourite story quests. I love these kinds of quests because they tell you so much about the character's personalities and the way this world works. You learn so much. Those things are the reason I play the game. The world building is beautiful. And I loved that rather than swoop in to save Chisato he organised a plan that put her in a position where she has enough power to be able to protect herself. I have so much respect for him for that. Also the best part imo is that Ayato shows a excellent view of marriage. Women should be independent and strong instead of being a "protectee" by men, this is necessary for having a happy life

This quest really tied together the political nature of Inazuma, in other quests the concept of the tri-commission is simply mentioned but not explored. The power struggle between each clan gives it a hint of realism to the game. I’m also glad Hoyoverse learned to show and not tell when explaining a character (*cough* Kokomi). Ayato story quest is currently one of my favourites.

If people think Ayato's story quest is boring then I'm pretty sure they will hate Sumeru's story because that region is full of research, knowledge, wisdom, books, and yes the stories will have a lot more reading than fighting compared to Inazuma's stories about war and power.

Watched this on twitch and have to rewatch it in here because I like it so much. I know many don’t like political plot and have long dialogues without much fighting, but it is one of the best (if not the best) character story quest so far in my opinion. Not only it showed Ayato’s personality, his view/stance about Inazuma and its government, the quest tight up so nicely other previous quests ever since 2.0 till now as well and gave us clearer picture about Inazuma. I love the dialogue writing of this quest so much, it has so many metaphorical uses and hidden intentions, foreshadowing.

This is definitely one of the better story quests that I like. All the story quests are really good, but I REALLY like ones with layers that kinda push me to analyze what just happened. I wish there was a way I could replay Ayato's story quest just so I can experience it again!

I love this quest a lot since it tries to make my brain juice work a d giving me a rushing feeling like those mystery novels I love to read. As Ayato just said, people may have "colorful opinions" but in my perspective, this a great one, and one of my top list! I didn't like Ayato to begin with so playing through his story quest didn't really make me like him in the end, so it failed on that part which is why I don't like it. This is contrasted with Childe and Raiden who are now my favorite characters because their story quests were so compelling

Listening to the Heron Dance ost while Ayato was sharing his personal story to Chisato was so touching. It made me feel so sad when he said his father was basically worked to death (and ESPECIALLY after reading his vision story), it was an amazing and fitting emotional moment that wasn’t sappy, and perfect for the debut of his character 👍

I absolutely loved this quest! Dialogue is great and it showcased Ayato's skills and personality perfectly ^^. I honestly can't understand why some call it boring. Quests don't need a lot of action to be interesting and this one was definitely one of the best written ones up to date.

In Ayato's quest on the other hand, instead of telling it to our face, we realize it through Ayato's actions and dialogue.

25:22 - 25:26 for some reason these scenes were empty and there were no NPCs cleaning there. I have even recording for it. Anyway this quest is amazing! Talk off between Ayato and Matsuura was pick dialog in whole of genshin and uk the best thing is Paimon didn't say a word during tht! Ayato does all these stuff for the sake of his family is so heartwarming! He literally says: "You can do whatever you want to me but never mess with my family." And I love how he words things. He practically roasts people politely. Gosh I love him!

Most bubble tea shop offers different types of drinks from fruity to chocolate drinks and they sometimes serve hot beverages too. The topping varies from normal boba to various jellies etc. Idk about other shops, but the ones near me also lets you customize the amount of ice and sugar. It's pretty much like a starbucks but for flavored drinks that aren't coffee

I can understand that others may find this boring, but to say it's not a good story quest is selfish and inconsiderate. Everybody has their own preference and taste, but that doesn't mean that others preferences and taste is bad. We are all humans and we need to respect each other so If it's not your cup of tea, don't disrespect others by hating on something others do like. I personally don’t like politics, can’t take them in well for multiple reasons, however, this quest managed to keep me hooked the whole time. The story was well written and it clearly demonstrated the character of Ayato, introducing us to him in a very compelling way. I know there are those who found this boring, and there is nothing wrong with that, but for me personally, this was very entertaining. My favorite part for sure was the bird analogy. As someone who joined the Genshin Community because of the story this game had to offer, I enjoyed this quest quite a lot.

Kokomi did extraordinary job though, she could hold back the Shogunate for the entire rebellion, and when she could recruit all sorts of people to her cause. Like she got Ayaka, and Ayaka got the Traveller, and Ayato and his ninja. Kokomi also got Beidou, and mercenaries, and Kazuha. They even took the entire army after Sara went to confront shogun, and took the capital. There was only Raiden herself left, and she could single handedly wipe them all, but they only wanted her to hear their wishes. And they were so desperate that would never give up. even if it cost them their lives, they would see it through, even without the Traveller.

@@nawawii3750 I will just copy paste it from someone's comment but this is also how I feel about kokomi's whole master strategist. "Ayato was written smartly whereas Kokomi was written to be smart. In comparing them it’s very much show vs tell. We see Ayato being strategic, whereas we’re told countless times that Kokomi is strategic but then doesn’t actually live up to it." It's like Ayato's way is "Let's see the situation and plant all this trap so our future situation can deal with it because we are prepared" while Kokomi's way is like "Let's see the situation and look to our book with 100 ways to escape this situation". Kokomi's felt more like a gamble strategy i guess.

Time for the regular reminder that Genshin draws inspiration from unevenly paced traveling tales, and has even directly referenced one by name in dialogue (Kino no Tabi). I would say it's a different kind of smart. Most of the thinking process in war strategy is very similar to international chess or shogi. The enemy is clear, the target is clear, information is usually available, and therefore possibilities are generally limited. So it is possible to predict most things that can/will happen given the current situation, and provide directives to react accordingly.

Maybe if they showed more of that part of war instead of the characters just telling what they could do, I'd believe it. If ayato was in kokomi’s situation, I'm pretty sure he won't just accept suspicious weapons from unknown donors because he's smarter than that. Like, it's common sense to consider thay that could be from the enemy. Ayato is someone who seemed to be a step ahead of whoever he is against.

I think they can establish Kokomi's character better if they showed more of how the directives work, instead of going almost immediately to show her failings in the human side of things I.. honestly cannot say whether Ayato would have accepted the weapons, because there isn't enough explicit context in game about what are the factors the had to make the decision, so to apply it through how they think. I mean, for us players, we usually have a lot of extra hidden information, so it will look obvious. But for this, it's a bit of a leap, but we need to only restrict to information/knowledge/experience they have. Like for example, hasn't Kokomi only been commander for at max a year? Most of her knowledge probably came only from books. While Ayato when we meet him, has been doing politics since a young age, so at least 5~10 years

personally, this is a great way to tie up and kind of "end" chisato and kamaji's story...but not so much as a character story quest for ayato. he's a guiding force here, a supporting role of sorts (which is fine too). but since character story quests don't happen that often (unless you're zhongli or ei), I was hoping that the time we do get to spend with them and get to know them is maximized. I don't mind the politics or the heavy dialogue bc end of the day, that comes in with the territory for a prominent political figure like ayato, but again, I just wish that the story was centered around him instead.
