Daniella, I enjoyed your video. All I can say is, in my 50 odd years in life, I learned that people in the same income group, and financial level in life, they tend to make good friends. Very rich people do not want poor people in their inner circle. It's a thing that came with the sailing community for hundreds of years. These days, the average person have got more entry into this sport than ever before, which makes the previous exclusively rich communities nervous. Here in SA, it's the same. But me and my other halve are pushing through this, and have made good connections all over. Remember that, the sailing experiences with your partner, is the first and most important thing to chase, and treasure....the rest will happen by itself, don't try and push it. Keep up the good videos my dear😄

Thanks for the lovely comment Mike. Indeed, I agree with finding friends that are in a similar income level, though that said, I find the more you can broaden your friend group, the better your life perspective. As a homeschooler, I always used to think it was weird that other kids didn’t have friends who were older, as that is more normal for homeschooled kids. I think the same for wealth, especially for someone like me who is trying to be an entrepreneur. In my case, it’s other experiences with my partner since he doesn’t like to sail anymore, but yes, time together is important. And time apart is equally as important. 💜 Thank you for your kindness. 💜🙏💜🙏💜

Ahoy Daniela, thanks for sharing and putting some light on the available clubs, good to hear RYC has a workshop 👍 A big friendly cruising community out here, as a sailor you'll find a way to move with the wind 🐋

You should consider moving to Whangarei of Paihia. Much easier to fit in to the sailing community in small town Aotearoa.

Yah, certainly, though one key thing I didn’t mention here is that the range of boat clubs it huge! Some of them are so ghetto and others are super swanky!

Hi Daniela . I took up sailing as a adult and fell into the trap of buying a very large classic yacht to live aboard with my dog . I was lucky enough to have locals to help . But after 3 years trying to keep it I sold it . I bought a 35 foot yacht which is on the hardstand getting with done . There is no perfect boat . But less is more . Never give up as adversity builds courage and strength and humanity
@SailingPivo

We did very similar. Bought a 40 foot whiting, but I think this next one will be a 25 footer or something similar. Definitely no perfect boat!!! Where do you sail your girl?

@@SailingPivo I saw your boat for sail some time ago . A great boat . I am in opua . The 62 foot classic Italian yacht has been sold sad to say . But was overwhelming after 3 years. I have a 1974 camper Nicholson aluminium 1tonner on the hardstand getting stuff done . It’s very basic . But beautiful shape and rig . Very robust and way less maintenance. Less is more

Good insights. The Easiest instant Community I've found, is as a Motor yclist, specifically a Touring Motorcyclist who has spent decades Touring mostly Europe. Pulling anywhere there are motorbikes, and even assgoles li,e me fit in. Possibly due to me being a chatterbox asshole who will talk to anyone about anything, even if I know sweet FA about the Subject being discussed, this ability comes from my favourite part time job since I pulled my first pint at the age of nine, a Barman. If I know aweet FA about a discussion, I say .I know sweet FA about this subject, tell me more, and people, who are mostly great, have been fine with that. As I have got older, the having to say I know sweet FA about that, has diminished significantly. Sailing ? I was bloody lucky. About to start Sailboat Racing in earnest, the 1979 Fatnet Race Tragedy happened, so I responded with "Screw that for a game of soldiers! " ditched it, and went all in with Cruising Sailboats instead, and have been ever since, and am getting more than a bit pissed off with boatyards putting too much emphasis on racing, and nowhere near enough emphasis on raising, things such as bloody dangerous mainsheet travellers in Cockpits so aftervtripping over them, on your way through the hatch, you can wave at the companionway while praying you won't break your neck, the fascination with deep Draft Keels which exclude you from racing to shelter in that shallow water bay or headland, to escape bloody storm heading your way plus the too stupid for words Twin Rudders fashion Fad. Haven't these idiots heard of lines from Crab pots and Lobster pots ? Yacht Clubs, mostly Yech, or in Weksh Ych Y Fy, but there are good ones out there, and I was a Member of one, and I will rejoin it once I get another Sailboat (I've been without one since being attacked by a Wrecking Gang in New York Harbour, but she was tough enough to get me through it alive, before going down, otherwise I'd be either in the Pacific, or back in the Mediterranean by now. So Look after your boats, because Life Bloody Sucks Without One to be Afloat in. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍❤️⛵️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Haha, this comment had me smiling and in giggles. "sweet FA". You sound like my family! It's funny, I hear people who like motorcycles, skiing, the mountains.... we are all of the same breed and often the interests intertwine. A boat is normally stronger than the sailor, I've found! Fair winds right back at ya, Bob!
