In Africa, truth be told, we do not prioritise legal adoption, i am raising 4 children with me not my own, not for my husband except 1, i always hear, why not legalise adoption, they all schooling in private schools, i see no need, they are all in my official documents, you dont need to belong to me by paper to inherit from me, same way i was loved n raised by a step father who never legally adopted me, i was his own, his beloved till he breathed his last, for 20yrs my heart refused comfort till i came across the comforter himself, Jesus n received him in my life, today, i am an ordained minister of the gospel. She said in one of her earler post that Mr Ibu was a friend to her late military father. Why did he not adopt her biological siblings as well? Why single her out, a grown female for adoption? Only her, a grown woman? And then she abandoned her own father's name to bear Mr Ibu's surname?. And which wife will sit lying low and watch a strange "adopted" daughter to be in charge of her husband's affairs. Will Jasmine herself accept that in her own marriage? The so called adopted daughter was already grown when her father died, yet Mr Ibu singled only her out of her father's children to adopt. And then she abandoned her own father's surname. Her father was in the army, so I guess they are not that poor. So what was the adoption for? Imagine? And her videos with the Mr Ibu doesn't even look like father/daughter videos. Will she accept this kind of relationship from her own husband with another adult female who is not a blood relation to her husband? Finally, What type of adopted daughter will enter a family it seems like she is not in a good relationship with any of Mr Ibu's people - wife or children. Very strange story indeed.
